Meet Blake and Jasmine. They have been friends since they were two years old. Nothing has ever been able to come between them not even the difference in their skin color. Blake’s young life is hit with opposition at the hands of his abusive father, Frank, at the mere age of nine. He still refuses to give up his friendship with Jasmine because she’s the reason he was able to conquer the effects of his abuse.
Frank is not the only one who has a problem with their friendship. Jasmine’s mother, Vanessa is also not a fan but her resistance is a bit more subtle. By the time Blake and Jasmine make it to college Vanessa’s wish seems to be granted until Jasmine is knocked down by life and bad choices. Blake and Jasmine meet four friends that quickly become family even though each one of them is a different nationality.
Blake and Jasmine’s families scramble to keep their skeletons from talking by using hatred, abuse and deception to silence them. When life and death stand face to face the collateral damage left behind will reveal what truly lies in each of their hearts. Those caught in the cross-hairs of fate’s sniper will be powerless to stop it. Hard questions about love, hate, right, wrong, free will and divine order will refuse to go unanswered. If they limit love due to their own prejudices they will never release their families from pasts that have haunted and tormented them for decades.
Dr. Sheridan Richards (Surviving Sunday) is called on to try and make sense of this family’s secrets. Can she help them heal and move forward in the destiny that God has for them? She will have to face her own ugly truths about issues she didn’t even know once she allows these strangers into her office in order to correctly respond to the madness that awaits her on Monday.

Every now and then you come across a novel that will make you experience every emotion you have. Color Me Blind is that kind of novel. The author did an excellent job of exploring controversial topics that will make you take a look at yourself. We need to delve into your own thoughts and beliefs to address what is buried deep inside all of us. The tact in which Melinda Michelle showed in addressing issues such as interracial relationships, race, abuse, love and hatred is paramount. Color Me Blind is an excellent read for any book club looking to create an open dialogue about issues taking place in the world today. Warning, reading this will open wounds, expose your deepest kept secrets and cause you to be honest with yourself. In the end, it will be well worth it in order to head down the path of true healing.
A well written story that covers so much. It deals with issues such as forgiveness, embracing God’s love, family, race/racism, prejudices/perceptions, injustices, abuse, rape, abortion, interracial marriage and healing. I love the way you see how God is all up in this relatable story. We meet some characters that we love and some we hate. But I think my favorite is Nurse Ashley- she makes her appearance with her observation and message and just disappears. The most somber moment was at the family intervention where everybody drops emotional bombs that leaves everybody in tears.
Makes you stop and take a look at yourself. Love is a beautiful. We are all God's children and He loves us and and we should love one another the way He loves us.
This was a first read from this author, but it won't be my last. Such a great story of two individuals who have known each other since they were 9 years old. I love romance stories like this.
This is my first time ever reading a story by Melinda Michelle and it certainly will not be my last. She touched on so many parts of life that I could easily relate. As parents, we strive to bring our children up a little different than how we were raised. So to see how Jasmine and friends grew up reminded me of how my children were raised and how well they get along with other races and can embrace their cultural differences. To see these children maintain a friendship like no other really touched my heart and it really gave an example of what equally yoked truly means.
A Great Read! It has been a long time coming, but I finally met Blake and Jasmine in “Color Me Blind.” Better than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this emotional love story. Thanks, Melinda Michelle for an inspiring love story...and so much more.
This love story is filled with interesting and colorful characters. Melinda Michelle did an excellent job addressing many of the issues surrounding interracial relationships. It would be great to see what happens next with Blake and Jasmine. Well worth reading! Great job!
This is an excellent story written about racism, friends, love, betrayal and family. The friends and family in this book all face some similar challenges in their lives over the years but will they overcome them.
I love the characters in this book. I could connect with them. The storyline was great because it is what so many are dealing with in society today.
Great job Melinda Michelle! You brought out so many different situations that will make one reevaluate their way of thinking when dealing with other races.

Color Me Blind Melinda Michelle I won this book on Goodreads A love story of two friends that are always together, abuse, abortion, illness , and the loss of a friend gives them the understanding of what the truth is between them. Jasmine is of another race then Blake but will it really matter in the heart.....
The themes in this book are relevant especially given the climate we live in today. Forgiveness. Dealing with racial issues. Family. Unity. It's all woven into this well-written novel. I absolutely loved this story and am looking forward to the sequel.
Another Great book by Melinda!!! This book made you want to fight a couple people and showed you that holding on to the past can ruin your future. It takes you on a journey and at times brings you to tears. A wonderful read that I wouldn't mind reading again!
I really feel God leads us to make the right decisions in our lives. Decisions we make are on our shoulders. If we were all color blind our world might be a happier place. I find it easier to make my own mind up when I meet new people instead of a preconcieved idea of how I should feel based on the color of someones skin. We are all human beings and should be allowed our own beliefs and experiences. I have taught my children and grandchildren to be respectful of all people and treat others as they wish to be treated. I loved this book, be careful not to judge others as we do not know their whole story.
A fantastic story that takes a no-holds-barred look at racism and prejudice, and demonstrates unequivocally how unconditional love in Christ Jesus crosses all boundaries and breaks all barriers down. I admire Melinda for writing this, and pray that many will read this book and take a hard look at themselves.
Color me blind was truly a divine read. Very well written and kept my attention until the end. I love it when I can see myself in one of the characters and I love it when I can't put the book down until I'm done. Yes, a very good read!
This was an audio book I got on audible. It was a touching story. I didn't like the language used when the main charachter was professing to be a Christian, but overall I liked the book.
The idea of this book is a great one. A bwwm Christian novel?! That's right up my alley and a welcome change to the plethora of billionaire baby IR books that unfortunately dominate! And I think with some editing and refinement this could've been a great read.
But I feel like it had a lot of unnecessary plotlines that come out of nowhere and random characters and relationships that appeared with no explanation or development.
I understand that this is probably going to be a series but the main characters didn't get together until well over the halfway mark. And that's after reading the many repetitive chapters about how Jasmine and Blake couldn't see each other as a anything other than platonic. But then she cuts her hair and she sees him without a shirt and they're suddenly in love? I found myself skipping over a lot.
And the way they treated their significant others before they got together really made it difficult for me to root for them. They're self-righteous behavior had me rolling me eyes.
All in all it was an ok read but I don't know if I would recommend it to anyone.
Really good read. I did have to put it down several times because the emotion of it chocked me up. The book will jump right into your soul and move you. Very touching, very real, and absolutely beautiful.
This was not only a love story that began as a true innocent friendship. It makes you realize that God has a divine plan for us you just have to listen.
