This is the story about two young men who on the way to finding themselves, found each other. When Justin and Parker meet their sophomore year of college in Boston, they soon find out that they share a lot of the same interests - music, movies and especially football.
Parker has had some struggles in the past, but through funny wit and banter, he and Justin soon become friends by constantly joking around with each other, pulling pranks, attending college football games and feeling good in each other's company.
But when a part of Parker begins to feel more than friendship for Justin, he shoves his feelings back down because there's no way that Justin could ever feel more than friendship for him. Is there?
This is Book 1 in the North Shore Book Series.
Content Although not strictly a work of erotica, this book contains scenes of male/male sexuality. Recommended for mature readers.

North of Sure is a college coming of age story, in which we are meeting Justin and Parker. When Justin’s roommate is asking him to take Parker with him on his ride home considering that they are living in the same town, Justin agrees. They soon find out that they share a lot of interests and they have a great time together.
Back at college, a friendship is developing between Justin and Parker. However, the moment Parker realizes that he is feeling attracted to Justin, he decides to take his distance. Due to a hurtful event in his past, he isn’t willing to tell Justin about his true feelings. Justin however isn’t letting Parker go so easily.
Finding out about Parker’s past and all that he had to give up has been really catchy, but unfortunately the relationship between Justin and Parker didn’t feel credible at all. They were acting really immature most of the time and I wasn’t able to understand their reactions. What they said and did made my role my eyes plenty of times and while the story really had a few interesting moments, but the author wasn’t able to get me hooked.
I know that there is a second installment in this series and considering that it is offered for free as a part of the Don’t read in the Closet event of the m/m romance group, I might look into it once.
ETA: Very disappointing to learn that the author used the LHNB prompt, that was supposed to provide the MM Romance Group Members with a free story and decided to profit from it. She did share half the story (North of Sure #2) with the Group, but that is not the point of the event. I edited my rating to 1*

It was more of a 1.5 rounded up...maybe. I just couldn´t relate to the MCs, their inner monologues were silly and even tho they have the right words none of the feelings were there. It didnt work for me at all.
Really liked the MCs but the book would have benefited from more dialogue and a little less descriptions of their feelings (IMHO). Having said that I am anxious to read more about Justin and Parker! Nice story!
First, I want to thank the author for sending me a free copy of this book. It took me some time to finally read it, because I wanted to wait til the second part of the story was released. Finally I decided to view this as a stand-alone and just started reading:) Overall it was a nice read. Nevertheless I had some problems with the repetitiveness of sentences and I was rather astonished to learn at about 92% that Justin had a twelve-year-old sister, unless I missed that somehow? The families of both were strangely absent, although several times they specifically drove to visit them, and the constantly changing POVs made it difficult to follow the story. I wanted to like it more, but I have to stick to 3 stars.
I'm not one for teen romance, but the blurb said the MCs in the story were in college. Even though they were in college, both MCs were inexperienced and unable to voice their feelings for and to one another in a mature manner. That's just not my thing. The story was fine, if a bit bland. And it ended on a sorta cliffhanger, so be warned. But given the story line, I will not be reading any other books in the series.
Finding that first love. Not knowing if he feels the same way about you as you do about him. Does he know about you? Does he know about himself? Parker is feeling all of this when he meets Parker. Coming of age at college these two young men have to deal with the unknowns to find strength in each other and come to terms with each other and their true selves. Certainly a lot of angst in this. It would have been nice to see them come together sooner, but I look forward to the next installment.
While this book could without a doubt use editing it is none the less a very sweet coming of age, discovering who you are, love story. This first time author has given us sweet, realistic characters who you cannot help but love. I look forward to reading further about Justin and Parker's journey through college life.
In the interest of full disclosure I would like to acknowledge that I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
3.5 stars--a sweet, quick read about two 20 year old college students discovering love for the first time. The MCs are very likeable. The editing, however, could have been better. Still, a nice story.
I couldn't pass up a story based in Boston with a main character named Parker. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed this read. I look forward to many more books by this author.
I thought this was a really sweet friends-to-lovers story about a very likable couple. I really liked the author's voice and found the narration easy to read with very realistic dialogue.
There were a couple issues that I found distracting. One was the constant POV shifts. Not being immediately familiar with the characters, I had difficulty figuring out who the author was talking about. These shifts were not in a normal way either. Instead of changing POV at the end of a scene or section break, they were free-flowing. Within a given scene the POV would jump back and forth between the characters, and it was confusing.
Secondly, the pacing was a little off. The narration got bogged down with heavy descriptions of thoughts and feelings. I wanted the story line to advance, for there to be more action and dialogue and less reflection.
I loved the ending, and the sex was hot (yet also sweet). This book is a great first effort by this author who is undoubtedly going to be quite successful. I look forward to more of her stories.
Justin met Parker in college. They both loved football, and became close friends. At one point they realized they wanted more...
Yeah, how many time do we read such plot? Unfortunately this book doesn't offer anything new to make it fresh. That the writing style feel like unbeta-ed fanfic doesn't help.
What a great book. It's a sweet story about two best friends that are fighting their feelings of wanting "more" from each other. This is a great first book by Lashley Mills and I can't wait to read the sequel as part of the Love Has No Boundaries challenge in the M/M group.
Sweet story of young men trying to come to terms with themselves and finding each other. Their slow build seemed natural and you end up so happy for the two of them.
