So when a position at a small-town rodeo opens up, she jumps at the chance to slow the pace a little. And go on a few blind dates. Not on the same evening, of course! And one of them is most definitely NOT supposed to be with Wes

2. Someone she’s been daydreaming about for years.
3. A guy who doesn’t immediately connect her to the quiet, shy, plus-sized version of her from their first encounter.

Should she play it safe with the blind date she’s never met? Or explore her secret crush on a guy who doesn’t even remember her?

Chased down the mountain by a bear?

Wes and Christie's first date may not go smoothly but Wes doesn't let that deter him, he knows what he wants and is out to win Christie's heart.
There are a number of twists in this plot and just as many characters who are not who they appear to be. But Wes is true to his word and becomes Christie's protector, her sounding board, her escape and her rock. A sweet read on Kindle Unlimited.

ALL IN GOD’S PERFECT TIMING

The story is part of the series, A Very Country Christmas. It is a clean, contemporary, small-town series in Pinetop, Arizona. The cast of characters includes many who have lived in the town all their lives and know each other, and others who are new or visiting Pinetop. The story continues when Wes Wakefield follows Tess Caldwell to Pinetop to keep her safe. He is ready to settle down, and he likes the town and people—so he opens Pinetop Auto. What he wasn’t expecting was to see the girl that stole his heart so many years ago.

Trick rider, Christie Hart, has been staying in Pinetop, Arizona, and working for Angel Castello where he has turned his dinner theater into an indoor rodeo. She loves it here and has even purchased a chalet. Her friend, Willa Castello will set her up on a blind date—or two!

Auto mechanic and owner, and an undercover detective, Wes Wakefield, will have Willa arrange a ‘blind date’ between him and Christie. Why he didn’t realize she was the girl that was his sister’s roommate in college, doesn’t click until they are together. Christie was only eighteen and he was twenty-five when they met—it was his stepsister, Bonnie, who didn’t feel he should pursue her.

The story’s plot is full of mystery, suspense, and danger. There is a bit of animosity between Christie and her mother, and eventually, that will play out. Secrets, lies, and deceit all have roles in this story—along with the good, the bad, and the ugly of people.

I loved the chemistry between Wes and Christie. From the moment she sees him on the blind date, she remembers him, but it takes him a moment to remember her. The connection is there, and the desire to continue dating is decided. Then along comes Christie’s mother. Problems, solutions, and surprises are all part of this page-turning tale. We met Roman Rios in the story—as another potential blind date for Christie—the next book will be a story about him.

Wes: Any plans to hit the road again on tour?
Christie: No. My agent isn’t too happy about it, but I always pictured retiring at the top of my game. The longer you stay in this biz, the more you risk incurring a career-ending injury. Nothing lasts forever, Wes.
Wes: I disagree. According to my Bible, things like faith, hope, and love have a pretty long shelf life. Every time I hold your hand and every time I kiss you, it matters to me. You hear?
Christie: You’re looking for a serious relationship, huh?
Wes: I think it’s safe to say I’m no longer looking.

I am enjoying this series, the characters, their interactions, and the mysteries within the story. As each story unfolds, adding new characters, and relationships, it opens the door for new stories. The faith of both Wes and Christie adds a bond that helps unite them early on and follows them into marriage. They are sweet, clean, and contemporary and so far, we are having the coveted happily-ever-after endings we crave.

📚THE STORY📚

Christie is a rodeo riding star who's retreated to a small mountain town for a breath of fresh air. When her friend sets her up on a blind date, she finds herself reunited with a guy she had a crush on all throughout college. Now a mechanic and former undercover cop, Wes actually engineered their date after harboring similar feelings for her since they met.

But Christie has a lot going on. Fans of her from the rodeo world can get a bit intense in their pursuit of her attention. Her mother is an emotionally challenging handful. And there's a dangerous mystery lurking in her past.

Good thing Wes is no stranger to danger or mystery. His life as an undercover cop has prepared him to protect his new love as they unravel the secrets and schemes that threaten her happy future.

💕THE ROMANCE💕

Wes and Christie start dating really early in the book, and the plot is less about their romance blossoming but the way their relationship weathers the various challenges that arise. Wes is protective and take-charge, using both his mechanic's skills and his police experience to help navigate anything that arises.

🎄CHRISTMAS🎄

Though this story takes place during the holidays, the primary focus of the plot is the situation Christie and her family are in. There aren't too many holiday details, though the Christmas theme is sprinkled in throughout the setting of Pinetop.

✝️FAITH ELEMENTS✝️

Wes and Christie both pray, and there is attention paid to the concept of abstinence before marriage. But their faith isn't a core element of their relationship or the plot.

📝MY THOUGHTS📝

This book was a wild ride! It starts with a cute Christmas-y meet cute and ends up with action packed rodeo sequences, dangerous undercover operations, and complicated family secrets! I did like the way Wes and Christie's relationship was a given from early in the first act, and the story is more about how they care for each other throughout the chaos. It's not necessarily about two people falling in love, but two people in love.

Christie and her mom both demonstrate disordered thoughts about eating, calories, and their bodies, which I don't really enjoy in my fiction. It provides some opportunities for Wes to be a supportive partner, though. And I thought the title was a bit misleading - Wes isn't a cowboy, he's a mechanic and a cop, and the "blind date mix up" doesn't actually feature heavily in the plot.

Being from Arizona myself, I always love a fun AZ setting! And I liked having a heroine who is successful in a unique field and who we get to see working, training, and performing.

Heartwarming story showing  various facets of love.

Christie Hart shows up on time for the holi-date her best friend, Willa Castellano, set up for her. Too bad her date didn't. Hmm seems like Willa over booked her and there are two dates waiting inside for her. Now she has to decide which one needs to reschedule their date. The trick rider can perform all manner of dangerous stunts on her horse but this is just too much pressure!

Wes Wakefield asked Willa to set up the date. He uses a trick when the men do a coin toss to ensure he'll win. Roman Rios will have to find a date with someone else. Wes is the stepbrother of her friend and former college roommate, Bonnie. She hasn't seen him for a few years but he's still as HOT as ever. No wonder she used to think of him as Dreamboat. The man she's never been able to forget doesn't seem to recognize or remember her...

It took Wes a little time to place her. Even when she considered herself fat, wore glasses and a retainer, he was drawn to her. He admired her intelligence, her wit, her looks and especially her dark rimmed glasses. No way did he ever consider her to be fat.

After the death of her father, Christie fell apart. She dropped out of college after her sophomore year and took off across the country following the rodeo circuit. She stopped answering or returning Bonnie's call and dropped off the face of the earth. Besides Bonnie had told Wes that he was too old for Christie.

Wes is a former undercover detective in Phoenix. His cover was working in a auto mechanic shop. He discovered he not only was good at tinkering under the hoods of cars but really enjoyed the work. He now owns Pinetop Auto and a shop in Phoenix. He plans to resign from the police force to work on cars instead.

When her mother turns up for a surprise visit, Christie knows something is up. It involves a ring Christie received from her father just before he died. A ring her mother desperately wants. As do the bad guys, including some of Bonnie's in-laws...

Cowboy Blind Date Mix-Up for Christmas is an exceptionally entertaining story filled with no less than a blind date where two men were sent the same night to meet Christie at the cafe. One was the step brother of her college roommate that she had a crush on seven years ago and the other was her wrangler from the rodeo she was in. She had been in Pinetop for about six months doing her trick riding at no less than Castellano's where they turned the dinner theater into an indoor rodeo. When her mother shows up for a visit she lets something slip that both intrigued and scared Christie. With Wes being an undercover detective working at his automotive shop in Pinetop she shares the info her mother let slip. Soon there is found a full fledged onslaught of danger on Christie and her mother. They have to come up with an idea to both protect Christie at her show and catch the criminals at the same time. I love this series as it gives you both a love story while putting enough terror in it to keep you turning those pages.

When rodeo rider Christie Hart agrees to a blind date she didn't expect 2 men to show up. After a coin toss she ends up with Wes Wakefield. Wes is the brother of Christie's old collage roommate Bonnie and the man she had a crush on during school so now she has the chance to get to know him.
When Christie's mother comes to town to stay for a while trouble follows. She keeps asking Christie where her father's ring is but will not say why she wants it. Then out of the blue Bonnie, who Christie hasn't seen or talked to since college shows up with her husband to pay a visit. It turns out all of them have been drawn into some shady business against their will. When they all start telling their stories and the pieces start coming together they know more help is needed. Wes calls on some of his friends on the police force plus the FBI. They all work together to come up with a plan to capture all the bad guys before someone gets hurt.
What a great read. It kept you guessing about who was after what.
I received an arc in return for a honest opinion.

Christie Hart is a former rodeo star and now a trick rider at an indoor rodeo in Pinetop AZ. She works hard and doesn't have time to date. When her best friend sets her up on a blind date, she agrees. Then a mix-up happens when 2 men show up. Wes wins the coin toss and is her date for the evening. He doesn't remember that Christie was once his sister's college roommate. As the evening progresses, Wes figures out who she is.

Ruby Hart is Christie's eccentric mom. She shows up "for a few days". Christie's dad died when she was in college which lead to her dropping out of college and becoming a rodeo star.

Ruby knows more about Christie's dad's death than she lets on. When she lets some information slip, Christie goes to Wes - a former undercover police officer turned mechanic. Things start to heat up as Christie's car is tampered with and other strange things start to happen. Wes must figure out what's going on to keep Christie and Ruby safe.

Great book! Love the characters!

Christie Hart is an accomplished trick rider whose best fries set her up on a blind date; actually it was two blind dates...at the same time. Oops! Wes Wakefield was determined that he was going to win the coin toss for this blind date and not be the one who had to reschedule. He had known Christie since she was in college and his step-sister was her roommate. He was attracted to her then but was waved off by his sister. Now, several years later, and Christie is even more beautiful that he remembered.

This story has lots of swoon-worthy romance, drama and some bad guys trying to their hands on something that could destroy humanity if it feel in to the wrong hands. Christie doesn't even know she has it in her possession.

This story was fun, clean, very romantic and suspenseful until the very end. There are also characters from the earlier books in the series that bring back the family feel.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

I really enjoyed the latest installment in this series although this can be read as a standalone. Wes and Christie join forces, along with other family members, to solve an old crime that neither knew about! Wes is the stepbrother of Christie's college roommate and although it's been 7 years, she can't believe it when he turns out to be the blind date she's set up with! She's never forgotten him either. She's now a famous trick rider and has finally settled in a small Arizona town after traveling a lot and is tired of that life. She can't believe her path has crossed with Wes'. However, when her neurotic mother comes to visit, all sorts of weird things begin to happen, and she just started dating Wes so she doesn't exactly like the fact that what should be a wonderful time is now somewhat scary! How will things turn out? What does her mother have to do with it? Will she and Wes have a future?

This is the third book in this series of Christmas Cowboy books. Wes is a former undercover agent and now owns his own repair garage in Pinetop. He's over the moon when he set's up a blind date for himself with Christie who is a top class ex rodeo rider. What he doesn't realise is she was also his half sister's dorm mate before she disappeared and drooped out of college. Then out of the blue Christie's mom shows up, what is she hiding. Trying to start a relationship is hard at anytime, but what happens when everyone has secrets that their hiding. It's lovely being back in Pinetop alot of the characters you already know from previous books, but you can read each book as a standalone. The twist and turns in the story are brilliant to pull you into the story. It's nice to read about the camaraderie and trust the characters have in each other, you are totally drawn into the story. I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC copy and this is my own honest opinion and review of the book

Christie Hart, famous trick rider, has been set up on a blind date by her friend. Now she is standing outside the restaurant, in Pinetop, Arizona, waiting for him to show up. Has she been stood up? No, maybe something even worse, she has two men waiting inside for her. Finally sitting down with handsome Wes Wakefield, a detective and local mechanic, she finds herself even more attracted to him than their first meeting. Wes is her best friend’s stepbrother and he has wanted to be more than friends since he first met her. Her mother arrives in town searching for the ring that belonged to Christie’s father. He gave the ring to Christie when he died and the ring is the last thing she has of his. Someone else is after the ring, but why and how far will they go to acquire it? Find out in this delightful story with romance, humor and just enough suspense. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Loved Wes and Christie's story! Wes first met Christie 7 years ago, when she was his stepsister's college roommate. She's changed since then, but he's pleasantly surprised to find out she's his "blind-date", though as he tells her, his "half-blind-date" since he knew who she was. Christie had a crush on Wes 7 years ago, and now she's drawn to him even more. The more time they spend together, the more those old feelings come into play for both. Wes is sure this time will last, as long as he can keep Christie safe when trouble comes calling. What he places his faith in is God, knowing that things will work out in God's timing. There are some really great moments in this book!

They both had a crush on each other, without the other realising it.
As they start getting to know each other more their feelings turn to love.
There is danger lurking around every corner.Wes is protective of Christie and wants to keep her away from any danger.
There are a lot of surprising twists and turns with danger and suspense thrown in.

The small mountain town of Pinetop at Christmas is the place for couples to meet and form romantic relationships! While Jo Grafford’s novellas are heart-warming, Christian stories, she includes an element of suspense which keeps her readers fully engaged. A fast-moving story.
Christie Hart, a famous trick-rider has worked for Pinetop’s favourite citizen, Angel Castellano, in his new indoor rodeo arena for six months when she meets mechanic Wes. With the attraction between them immediate, Wes asks Christie to be with him exclusively before their second date. However, matters escalate unexpectedly while they are still getting to know one another…
Christie’s mother’s arrival triggers a considerable level of intrigue, danger to Christie and a plan to solve the significance of a ring in Christie’s possession.
I received a free review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Christie is set up on a blind date, well at least half a blind date. Somehow the person setting her up gave her two dates at the same time. Wes made sure he won the coin toss for that night's date. Christie is a rodeo trick rider and Wes is a cop turned mechanic. Seems Christie was roommate to his sister in college before she dropped out.
Christie's mom comes to town, we find out some news about mom that I won't disclose and about Christie's deceased dad. There is some bad guys after Christie but do they get her before she finds out what they are up to?

Christie Hart's friend, Willa, set her up for two blind dates - both at the same time. You can read for yourself how Wes Wakefield won the privilege of being Christie's blind date. From there the relationship was on zoom along with the rest of the story. I read Cowboy Blind Date Mix-up straight through in one sitting.

Was Christie being targeted? Who sabotaged her Jeep? Why did her mom show up suddenly acting like Christie's life was in danger? Those questions and more are answered in this exciting romantic story. The mystery of the missing ring is solved and Christie and Wes get a perfect happy-ever-after.

I was given an ARC of this book from the author through BookFunnel but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily.

So enjoyed this book. Recommend it to everyone. Great clean read.
It’s a continuation of stories in Pinetop involving Christie and Wes. Christie is a trick rider and Wes is a detective turned mechanic who owns two businesses one being in Pinetop. He has a blind date set up with Christie who he knows as the roommate of his stepsister. She recognizes him as her roommate’s stepbrother who she had a crush on years ago. Thus begins their relationship. Things change when her mother requests to stay with her for awhile. With Wes’s help Christie learns more about her father and her mother reveals more about her relationship with her father and her. Christie then helps clear her father’s name. HEA ending.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

While this is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to fully understand and enjoy this delightful romance!

This is written in a multiple POV format. For the most part, it is the two main characters but a few others are thrown in to facilitate a better understanding of the story when it was needed.

I adored this story. The plot was delightful and flowed nicely. The characters are totally believable. I loved the suspense that took me by surprise when it developed. The author truly enchanted me with this tale.

There are only a few kissing scenes. I was so very sorry that the story ended though. I could have kept reading it forever!

An excellent book with a different second chance twist. This third book in the series is as excellent as the first two and that is saying a lot because they were great. It is a stand alone book, but I am glad I read them in order because some of the same characters were in each book. The couple knew each other years before and are reacquainted on a "blind date". There is a lot going on with them and some mystery, all of course resolved well at the end. I just couldn't put this book down. It was an ARC and this is my honest opinion. I am so thankful to be on Jo Grafford's team. Thank you Jo. I am really looking forward to the next three in the series.

Romance, Mystery, and Christmas!

Delightful story of Wes, Christie and their families finally dropping their facades and working together to solve a 27-year-old mystery that has danger stalking them. Spouses trust each other but some trust no one. Are they being followed? Watched? Manipulated? Amazing to see each of them trust God and help solve the mystery. Would they trust each other? Wes and Christie knew each other in college but their meeting now was a wonderful surprise for them both. Romance with suspense kept me reading through to the end.

Received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.

This is my favorite book in this series so far, although I'm pretty sure I said that about the book before this one. I love this series and this story has me wishing I hadn't read this book so fast! The characters were my favorite, I love that the characters from the previous book were pulled in too. This story has the right amount of action, no overkill here. I love the romance and how perfect the pacing was. This story has twists and turns and is downright entertaining. I'm so excited to read the next adventure in Cowboy On-the-Job Boyfriend for Christmas!

This third book in the series was so much fun to read because of the characters, secrets, and suspense.  I also enjoyed returning to Pinetop, Arizona.  I liked the characters of Christie, a trick rider and Wes, a former detective turned mechanic.  I thought the blind date mix-up was funny although I am sure it was not for one character. I found it interesting that Wes had requested the date with Christie and that they knew each other from a long time ago. I enjoyed reading to see how everything turned out after the mix-up.   It was very fast paced and had the perfect epilogue.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Cowboy Blind Date Mix-Up for Christmas

What a cute and interesting story full of mystery and romance. Christie Hart has spent so much time working and rising to fame as a rodeo trick rider that she doesn’t have time for dating. Her friend convinced Christie to go on a few blind dates just to appease the friend. Never did she imagine to be set up with two at once and one of them was her college roommate’s stepbrother and crush, Wes Wakefield. Then her life seems to turn dangerous with secrets being revealed that have been kept from her all of her life. Will she be able to survive?

Cowboy Blind Date Mix Up will have you was quite the suspenseful adventure. Christie is set up on a blind date by her friend and ends up having two guys to pick from. Wes is currently working as a mechanic in his own shop, he is in the process of leaving his job as a police detective. Another shock is that Wes was Christie’s roommate at college stepbrother! At the time that her father died, Christie’s father had been accused of stealing files at his job. The files are still missing and unbeknownst to Christie she has the files. Lots of twists and turns in this one as Wes and Christie get close, secrets from the past are exposed and the bad guys get closer.

This series is best if read in order. Each book could be read as a standalone however the town and several of the characters overlap throughout the series interconnecting the books with multiple backstories.
She's new to town and the show. Her friend decides to help her find balance by setting her up on some blind dates. Somehow things get twisted and she finds herself with two dates at the same time and place.
He's been interested in her since he saw her first performance. What they don't know is that their lives have been intertwined for years. Things have never been what they seemed and learning the truth comes at a price.

I really enjoyed this book. There's not only romance but suspense also. Christie had a blind date with Wes, whom she hadn't seen in seven years. He was her college roommate's brother. Would her feelings return? Would he be attracted to her?

There were questions about her dad stealing paperwork from the company he worked for before his death. They were anxious to find the paperwork and weren't concerned who got hurt. Did they have any clue who might have what they were looking for?

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

A blind date mix-up involving two men---but only a half blind date for one. Sounds crazy, right? But yet this book is full of totally unexpected turns and twists. It is a wonderful addition to her Christmas series.
I loved the book, hated to put it down, but I had to sleep! So, I saved the last chapter or two for the morning. I loved the two main characters and their interactions with each other. Sweet, wholesome, inspirational, romantic, intrigue.

Christie has had a crush on Wes for about nine years. He was her college roommate’s stepbrother. Wes always liked Christie, but because of the eight-year age difference, he kept his distance. He lost track of her after her father died and she left college. Now he discovers they are both living in the small town of Pinetop, TX. Their blind date mix-up brings them together again.

This book has it all – romance, intrigue, suspense, family, and good Christian content.

This is a great next book in the series. Christie Hart, famous trick rider, is set up for a blind date by her boss, Willa Castellano. The only problem is, she is actually set up for 2 dates at the same time and the same place. One of the men is Wes Wakefield, an old crush of Christie's. The story is engaging and lots of fun. I really enjoyed reading it. It's a Christmas inspired book, and I love Christmas books. I highly recommend the book and think anyone would enjoy reading it. I did receive a copy of the book from the author, but this review is my own opinion.
