Left devastated and completely broke by her lying, cheating ex, Melody does what any level-leaded twenty-something would do: Offers herself up for instructional demos at her local kink club.
Everything finally seems to be working out, until a scene-gone-horribly-wrong nearly sends her to the hospital. And turns the hot single dad she occasionally babysits for into a hot, overprotective Daddy.
The kind of Daddy who knows his way around a woman’s body as well as he knows his way around his workshop. Melody is sure that giving into the burning attraction between them is a recipe for disaster…
But it could be the stroke of luck they’ve both been waiting for.
I enjoyed this book. It read smoothly and delivered romance that was steamy and emotional. It was very easy to care about Melody and Wes and the connection and chemistry between them was quite evident. Passionate, sweet and swoon worthy, this couple melted my heart and made me squirm.
Wow, what can I say? The Club Surrender series just keeps getting better and better! 🖤 Wes’ and Melody’s chemistry is off the charts. We dive into the club world once again and see characters from previous books and learn what they’ve been up to. In the meantime, we fall in love with Wes and Mel. Grumpy/sunshine trope is top notch in this book and then we see Daddy Wes emerge and take charge. And when he does…🤌🏻🤌🏻. *new kinks unlocked* 🫠 Besides the sexy times, we see the good, the bad and the ugly sides of mental illness and how it can be controlled/overcome with the right support system. Daddy Wes understands Melody’s needs and goes above and beyond to ensure her happiness. I don’t want to give anything away but you will be doing a disservice to yourself if you don’t read this book. The previous books don’t need to be read to enjoy this gem but you’ll appreciate it even more if you have.
ONE of my favorite scenes…
“I'm not a nice man.”
“Yes you are.”
His hands wrapped around her thighs, pulling her closer. “It's not how I like to fuck.”
Her breath caught and she whispered. “How do you…” she trailed off, her cheeks reddened. “Wes?" Melody nibbled her bottom lip, tempting him.
“I will treat you like a princess. Spoil and give you everything you deserve…” He put his hand in her hair, tugging her head back. “Including fucking you like my dirty slut."
This was my first read of this series, and I must say that I really enjoyed this story about friends becoming lovers, it’s one of my favorite tropes. Wes and Melody have a deep seated friendship, working relationship and she helps him with his young daughter. Wes wants Mel, but is afraid to open his heart again, but I just knew that Mel could break down his walls. I could feel the lust coming off the pages between these two! This story takes you on their journey into a relationship that I hoped would last forever. They both learn from each other, and Wes is very protective of Mel and wants to make her his. I enjoyed their witty banter, and their chemistry was sizzling! Mel definitely keeps Wes on his toes, and Wes definitely keeps her in line, in a very smoking hot way. I look forward to reading more by this author. And will definitely be reading the other books in this incredible series!
I really wanted to like this, but I just didn't. The story was ok and I liked the characters. What made it less likeable was that it got confusing on whose POV it was coming from. The chapter would start with one narrating but then it was like the author forgot that and switched to the other characters POV. And there were several things like for example in one scene mmc had taken his shirt and boots off already but then he took all his clothing off again in the same scene. Or mfc would undress but then suddenly he would undress her again. Things like that happened often. Words weren't in the correct order in sentences. So it wasn't so much the story as it was all the mistakes that were made
His Lucky Babygirl is book 3 of the Club Surrender series and is Melody and Wes's story. We met these two in the first 2 Club Surrender books and I was looking forward to their story but i have to be honest and say it's my least favourite so far. Everything was there in the story, it was emotional (my heart broke for what happened to Melody in her previous relationship) and it was hot but I just felt there was something not quite right. Like there were details missing. Whilst it's not my favourite that doesn't mean others won't enjoy it and I'm counting down the days until we get book 4, Julia and Graham's story.
I absolutely loved this book! I swear this series just gets better and better! 😍
Wes & Melody’s relationship was everything I wanted it to be. Sweet, protective & spicy! I feel like in the beginning they were both scared to take that step of crossing the step from friendship to lovers. But once they finally did, it was magic!
This book also shows all bad sides of mental illness. (If that is a trigger, be warned!)
*You don’t need to read the previous books to enjoy this one!*
A true craftsman with incredibly versatile hands and a deliciously devious mind, reluctant to enter into a new relationship, but with a loving streak miles wide. And that girl, working multiple jobs, trying to keep her head over water while paying back her exe's bills. Both are part of the inner circle of Club Surrender and know each other well, there's mutual attraction - lots of it - but... Lets just call it an incredibly long denial of the fact that those two+..., are made for each other!
This is a "classic with kinky" friends-to-lovers story. Melody and Wes have been friends and coworkers for a while now, and Melody is already deeply entrenched in Wes' little family without either of them really knowing it as Melody cares for Wes' daughter on a regular basis - who is absolutely adorable BTW. When Mel decides that the best way to make some extra money is to be a practice rope-bunny for another Dom, things go awry and Wes comes to the rescue! It's a great story with a happy ending :)
I really wanted to like this, and the idea sounds really fun. But the writing is bad, the grammar bothers me and the tense is inconsistent. Even the pov is inconsistent. One paragraph we’ll be in his perspective, and then the next hers… We’ve only seen his daughter for two scenes after the 50% mark of the book, despite her supposedly being important to the story. The character development and the relationship feel very rushed and underdeveloped. I really wanted to enjoy this, too.
Melody is a crazy mix of woman, and child, and responsible working adult. Wes is a contradiction of responsible male and traditions, to not wanting to be in a traditional relationship? Then there's all the characters I was trying to remember all through this story. This is the first book in this series that I've read, so maybe that explains it. And I can't figure out what kind of relationship he was asking her to be in with him at the end? Like I said, good but confusing. Liked both main characters. Loved little Sarah.
This was such a good story. Lenore Danvers is a wonderful storyteller. She has a way of writing that just draws a person in. Meldoy and Wes are friends and while both of them want more, they haven't expressed that to each other! But when she gets hurt, Wes turns into a very protective Daddy and he's finally determined to make Melody his! Will he succeed? The storyline is easy to follow and written very well that you almost feel you are right there with the characters! Just go pick it up!
Love can be wonderful but also very cruel...Melody and Wes have gone through some bad times, maybe together they will find how good life can be. A super sexy must read.
