Reading, writing, and white-water rafting are the three things Anitra Lynn enjoys the most. She is the author of erotic romances from contemporary to science fiction and everything in between. Even though her tales range from sensual to sizzling, with settings from the high rises of New York to the distant shores of an alien world, one thing all her stories share is compelling characters involved in unforgettable romances.
It's hard to explain but it was good. This series is kind of like her Twin Pine Grizzlies/GrinIron Gods series with a twist. Instead of the two coming together to make 1 shifter like in Twin Pines the 1 "beast" splits to form 2 shifters. I know it sounds confusing but I don't want to give to much away on how it is done. You just have to read it.
I will say, it was very interesting and kept my interest. I will be reading future sequels. I can't wait to read Raphael's story.
At first I thought this would be a typical werewolf shifter story but I'm glad I was wrong!
The story turned out to be dark and for most part, bittersweet. I didn't expect this would involve immortals, beasts, gods and punishment. The twists and turns were unexpected and it really kept me interested and eager to turn the page. There were some things though that prevented me to give this full stars.
I thought the ending would turn into a tragedy but it ended with an HEA. Yes! For a minute or three I thought it would turn out differently(even if there was HEA written in the blurb LOL).
Overall, the story was unique and very promising. Great and intriguing start for a new series. I would definitely watch out for more of this series.
I did find this book to be not your typical shifter book but it makes it hard to see anything beyond the first book with how it ends since you already know what the couples need to do to overcome the situation. but not a bad book just not something I would continue after this one most likely
I don't think this is a series for me. I just couldn't get into the characters or what was going on between them. I'm sure people will like that it is a bit different than your typical shifter story, but it just wasn't working for me.
hokey. And I shall call thee "beast". "Cade had some kind of direct link into the primitive portion of Jordan’s brain. It was the part of him that didn’t think but reacted out of instinct." (ya think?) Lots of unnecessary verbage
This is obviously the first of a series and I’m excited to find out more about Jordan’s world pre-Cade; I really wish the author had built a bit more of that history into the storyline . It did seem to jump a bit as though the author were trying to cram everything into 120-some odd pages. I would like to have seen more of a relationship develop between the two heroes even though I believe in love at first sight.
Like all of Anitra Lynn McLeod’s books, it was a fun, quick read! The sex was pretty-darned good and I couldn’t help but feel a bit envious. The read was over too quickly and left me wanting more. I would definitely recommend if you are a fan of this particular author. If anything, you know exactly what you’re getting when you pick up one of her books!
I was just looking through my bookshelves and noticed the cover... noticed that it was a Siren published book. I just thought I would encourage the author to get away from this publisher if possible - this is the first/only Siren book I've read that wasn't atrocious. I've read so many bad ones from them, that now when I see their touch on the cover of a book, I immediately dismiss it.
This book was a bit different from other shifter books, I've read in the past. But I must admit, I really enjoyed it. I loved the characters and the love they had fir each other. And I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.
