"imagine every thought, feeling, or emotion known to humanity, and then multiply your hunger, thirst, pain, desire, rage, love, and fear by a thousand. that's how living on this island feels."

soon enough, hunger, fear and survival start eating at them and there’s tension in the group. but the tension between london and twins maison and micah is the strongest. she can’t help wanting to know more about them and their mysterious past. did they really kill that girl two summers ago? torn between affectionate and funny maison and cold-hearted alpha leader micah, london realizes the wilderness might not be the only dangerous thing on this pretty little island.
review:
if you’re a fan of tv shows like yellowjackets, the wilds, the 100 or the society, you will want to check out this book about a group of teenagers stuck on an abandoned island and fighting for survival after a plane crash.
i gave this book a chance because shelbie and elle mitchell had high praise for it and i’m so glad i did! this is rhea ryan’s debut novel and the first book in a duet.
it’s dark and so tense, i couldn’t stop reading because i NEEDED to know what would happen next. yes, it’s a new adult romance, but it’s also a suspense with plot twists that leave you reeling.
if you are like me and you enjoy reading about characters having to make tough choices that make them question their morality, you will eat this up. i loved reading about the group trying to survive in the wilderness and people fighting for power and what’s the best course of action. the tension reaches its boiling point towards the end, and no one is safe.
you will be left questioning what is the truth and which twin to trust. and believe me, your opinion on both maison and micah will change quite a few times during the book. it’s a single POV so you only know what london knows. you really live this story through her eyes.
it was an addictive book that kept me awake all night. and it was so different from what i usually read but i loved every second of it. i really recommend it to everyone.
it ends on a cliffhanger and i just cannot wait to read the second book next year!
