The perfect Christmas story which follows four women who arrive at Nottingham Aircraft Centre during the festive season. They have come to build aeroplanes to help the war effort but there is love and friendship to be enjoyed this Christmas time . . .
Whilst the story could have been so strong the book was full of factual historic errors and further mistakes in the text (the MC went up in a Tiger Moth but then was landing a Spitfire). I've always loved Daisy's books, but to see her thank her editors at the end I was disappointed for her that they had not picked up on so many errors and the book had been published with them.
A well written story with many storylines cleverly written bringing each character to life. Detailed description of life for women during the war what a stoic collection of ladies
I have yet to find a Daisy Styles book I do not love and find hard to put down. Her attention to detail for the period is brilliant. I find I learn more about the differing roles men and women took during WWII and it makes me want to research them more. Another fabulous read.
Cute book. Interesting story line, I had no idea the women built spitfires and even flew them in the war. Uncomplicated and warm story set in the lead up to Christmas. Lovely characters. Not earth shattering but a nice read in the festive season.
