This is a detailed overview of all Joe Dallesandro's films plus television, short films, and documentary appearances. It is very well written and researched but definitely with Joe's authorization and very much from the point of view of a true fan. The author maintains Joe's official website. There is a brief, but fairly thorough biography at the beginning. It would be nice to read a no-hold's barred bio of this guy some day. The author has respected his subject's privacy quite a bit which is understandable considering that he is alive and well and has children and grandchildren. Some day we may get the full story of this fascinating character but you will not quite find it here. Instead just enjoy reading very personal accounts of Joe's experiences in film making as well as the fairly objective assessments of his entire body of work from a fan. Lots of great photos, although the paper is fairly cheap.

No book has this complete of a listing of Joe’s films. The author has done a fantastic job of not just reviews the films but giving a great reason for why they should be seen. Joe has had quite a life and this B movie star’s book is a great read. But for a collector of movies and someone who is interested in film, this book is the bible for Joe.

This was fun. The Warhol Films is the best part, but the whole thing is kind of cool if you like the cheesy low budget cult'ish movies. Ha Ha.
Joe, for a lot of people, is very mesmerizing to me in his youth. Don't know what it is.
