Another hot BDSM book from Kim Dare, wish it was longer to expand on the characters a bit more other than the major sex scenes.

Neat story about D/s relationships falling, and sometimes sliding, along a spectrum. Unfortunately, this novella was too short to develop the concept enough for me to finish with a satisfied HFN. Also, I didn't feel much of a spark between the MCs beyond a flexible teacher with a fresh face interesting student.

This was a short quick read that I wish was longer and got into the MC's background. I liked this book Aaron Banks has had a grueling few weeks and he just wants to relieve some tension at the Spread Eagle. When a buddy points out a new sub on the scene and informs him that said sub is a virgin, Aaron isn’t all that interested. Until he gets a look at Danny Clarke. He’s hooked and he wants Danny before another Dom claims him. Lucky for Aaron Danny seems to want him too. But when they leave the club Danny surprises Aaron with some important information. Here is what I found funny Danny is a Virgin but knows he is not a sub, but a Dom when he does even know what his kinks are. Danny is right sick of people making assumptions and it makes him a bit cranky. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling and I really liked both character's I just wished that it was longer.

Stories about two hot men who challenge each other in the best ways possible are among my favorite kind. Throw in a bit of an unexpected twist, emotions budding where neither of the two "battling" main characters expected them, and add some real passion and some hot scenes, and I am a very happy reader. Needless to say, the entire list above applies to 'Virgin Territory' – and then some! It's a wonderful mix between a D/s story, new love blossoming where neither party expected (nor really likes) it, and human psychology.

I liked this little "battle" between Aaron and Danny. I could see them both adjusting around each other... it was seriously entertaining to read, a twist on a typical "newbie sub" walks into the bar...

I loved the story! I only a bit disappointed why it's so short.
I need to know and read more about Aaron and Danny. I hope there's a second installment about Aaron and Danny in a future.

Ahhh…Kim Dare. I freely admit it, this author is an auto-buy for me. Given that, however, I try to be very careful not to just automatically assume that each offering by this BDSM author is going to hit its mark. So I was pleasantly surprised when her latest offering, Virgin Territory, not only hit is but smacked it out of the park!
And here is where my love for this author floats happily to the surface. While Kim Dare often writes short stories and novellas, she writes them in such a way that keeps them fresh and interesting.

Ah, how I hate being stuck between numbers.
This story? I really enjoyed it, except for a handful of tiny things. No, that’s not even accurate either.
I really like the concept, the premise, and I do like how it plays out.
On the other hand, Aaron’s not entirely someone I embrace (even though there are no real grounds for complaints) and the ending felt almost too realistic in its attempt to stay away from exaggerating feelings. I mean it does work, don’t get me wrong, and there’s definitely the sense that this will last at least quite a while. But I kind of want to throw realism into the wind and just wallow in a happily ever after instead. ^^;
So there. A good story with yet another look at sexuality and kink and the fluidity that’s part of life.

Finally back to the Kim Dare stuff I love. I seemed to have gone through a little slump were I wasn't feeling a connection between her MCs. This was a short, non-angsty read. I felt Danny and Aaron's connection from the second they locked eyes across the club. And I loved Danny's attitude and not just letting Aaron make assumptions because Danny was a virgin. And Aaron allowing Danny to have his attitude and also letting Danny try being a dom and topping, even though it's (the Dom part anyway) clearly NOT his thing. I think Aaron was great for a just out of the closet guy like Danny who wanted to try everything instead of forcing Danny to just be a sub or just be a bottom. I didn't like Aaron thinking about another guy (Tom) during sex though.

Kim Dare is beyond brilliant. She understands what it takes to turn simple words into mind blowing pleasure. This was an amazing short that provided just the right amount of fire to set anyone ablaze. It was realistic enough for me to be able to place myself in the shies of either character.
Against all odds, I believe that Danny is fighting a losing battle. He pushes against he naturally submissive core and strives to tend to his much smaller dominant side. I had a hard time trying to figure out that if he was with anyone of than Aaron would it have been different. Would he have felt that intense need to please his partner. I guess it is just a matter of finding that one person who will take you as you are and compromise when you feel a need to switch things up.

I enjoyed that this wasn't a conventional BDSM story. Danny is the virgin, not only to BDSM, but really truly an actual virgin. Aaron is one of dozens of Doms that try to pick Danny up at the club, but Aaron's the one Danny goes home with.
Danny's convinced he's a Dom, but so is Aaron. Aaron makes him a deal. He'll not only bottom for Danny, he'll sub for him... on their 2nd date.
I enjoyed seeing the men willing to take on different roles and explore different things. I just wish I'd gotten to know either of them better. And I get Danny falling in love so quickly, but it didn't seem so believable from Aaron.

Vanilla Vanessa doesn’t read too many bdsm romances. Kim Dare has treated me to one that I finally understood. Danny and Aaron are all about the fun in their kink. From the very first time these two start enjoying the pleasures to be found together they are having fun with each other. I liked that. I loved how the moment Aaron found out the novelty behind Danny he just had to have him. I loved how Danny wasn’t about to let anyone have any misunderstandings about what he wanted in the end just because of what he was. Virgin Territory completely worked for me as a well rounded great erotic read.
