Scientist Dr. Rachel Deering hopes that her invention will lead her to find meteorites from outer space, but instead it leads her into an abandoned alley where trouble awaits. Fortunately, Rachel is rescued by a strange man with very surprising abilities. When he reveals to her that his name is Lynxar and that he is actually an alien from another world, Rachel vows to help him get back home. But can she do it before General Kriptoff finds them and uses Rachel’s research for his own evil purposes? Rachel certainly intends to try, but the one thing she didn’t count on was falling deeply in love with the handsome alien she was dedicated to sending home.
I found it to be very corny, and you could definitely tell that he could read her mind way before he even told her. And he called himself an alien? He doesn't know what that means, and he has to have a name for his race, to him she is alien like he is an alien to her.
There were numerous other corny parts, and the story itself felt a little flat, as well as rushed and short. As for the battle scene, I felt like it wasn't put together well, and the way that the villain thought swung back and forth a lot, and didn't make much sense.
I would not recommend it, unless you prefer corny, short stories.
I got this story because it was free and I like paranormal romance stories, however it so was not worth my time! The story was disjointed and really made little sense. The author just didn't seem to make much of an effort to develop a story and instead seemed to just want storyline movement so put in event that made no sense to me. For example: Why would a dictator, even a psychotic one, want to capture her so badly for her "technology" when he already had it and didn't care about the people it killed so why would he need her alive to fix the problem? Just give this one a miss it really isn't worth the effort to download
This was a quick read, thank goodness. It is trite, tiresome and uninteresting. The characters are less than well-rounded and the story itself is very rushed. The only descriptive parts are of them having sex which is ironic considering he can read minds, she knows he can read her mind but she still insists on telling him what to do. Take out the sex and the story only lasts about 3-4 pages.
If you want something to read that you REALLY don't want or need to think about then this is the book for you.
A scientist in an ally gets jumped by two men. All the sudden a man comes out of nowhere and kicks some butt. Ok that sounds cool right? Well i found this story lacking in a lot of areas. The story was RUSHED. The feelings just were not there for me. I felt like i was reading one of those kungfu movies with awful horror subtitles. You know the ones the mouths stop moving and hes still talking. This would make a cute little story for my nephew if there was no sex scenes which were there but poorly wrote. So thats my suggestion remove the sex scenes and make it into a book for boys.
Superhero story meets romcom for quick, light and fun read
This quick, light and fun read is a happy for now, mostly done in one that leaves you with a feeling of conclusion yet well aware there is more story to be told. Having read all 19 stories in this Universe, I believe it is safe to say each builds on what came before it, and if you enjoy the writing, tone, and humor of this story then I would recommend the boxed sets that give the complete story / Universe.
Lynxar is a fun Superman-esque superhero, who respects and appreciates an intelligent woman.
I downloaded the book free on amazon. Being a fan of Aliens and such, I wanted to love the series; however, I was very disappointed. Everything was too cliché. You could guess what would come next. The idea could have been good, but the way it was presented was too simple, too cartoonish. The sex scenes (don't get me started on that, can I say AWKWARD?) really did it for me. After that, I could not take anything seriously.
CORNY This was like one of those endless 'trying to avoid going to bed' bedtime stories my daughter loves to spin. it had too much going on for me to focus on a plot. Seemed like random people and places were thrown together, making up the plot as it went along.
I downloaded this book for free. Thank god it was because I probably wouldn't pay for it. It was short, the storyline incomplete and disjointed and the writing was just bad. The premise itself holds some potential.
