Brilliant introduction to some of the greatest female characters in the DC-universe. I originally read it for Harley Quinn, as I've recently developed an obsession with her character, but I am now intrigued about the other characters. It's a great concept for the introduction of the various characters, as we have main plot that goes through all five issue, but then each issue also has their own main character and we get parts of their origin stories/generally get to know them better. #1 Catwoman #2 Poison Ivy #3 Harley Quinn #4 Renee Montoya #5 Batgirl Furthermore, I love the dynamic duo of Ivy and Harley. Maybe, this wasn't the deepest or most revolutionary comic, but it was short, it was fun and the art style was a good mix between fast-paced action while not being confusing, so I definitely recommend the comic for anyone interested in any one of the "Gotham Girls"
Woah! What an unexpected gem to find on a Thursday evening! From what I can tell, Gotham Girls is set after the animated series with the same title. Starring the all-female cast of Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Batgirl, I was overwhelmed by the amount I was enjoying this! Although it was short and sweet and somewhat lacking in depth, I was really captivated by the story and overall it was just fun! On top of this, the artwork! Oh my goodness did I love the artwork! Gotham Girls would have to rank in my top 3 favourite comic book art of all time. Which definitely ups the rating for me! I really wish there were more comics with this ensemble of characters! I suppose I'll have to watch the series now...
This is like Gotham City Sirens before GCS was a thing.
You guys remember this scene from Aladdin?
This mini-series is literally that (plot-wise), but instead of "loaf of bread" it's "fertilizer".
The good thing, though, is that the art is very reminiscent of Batman The Animated Series. So if you want to feel a bit of a nostalgia, feel free to read this.
Love the artstyle! Reminds me of Batman The Animated Series. Also loved that the boys appeared up until the end of the story, when Batgirl and Montoya had everything under control.
It was very interesting how Batgirl has empathy towards everyone (even the villains) and she understands how they ended up doing what they do. Such a lovely girl.
