Ok now if you are looking for a generic book about plain jane girl hooking up with rich guy who is dominating blah blah blah than this is your book.

BLAH photo blahblah_zps54f2c86e.gif

"Don't wear panties" "You're Mine" "I've loved you forever" "Tap your shit down"

So Emma was pregnant and left b/c Marcus's dad shows up and says he wanted her to get abortion and Marcus shows back up and of course you know he wants her and didn't know about his dad, etc. etc. etc.

And why does the pretty poor girl always wind up going to a charity ball with Mr. Rich guy and feeling like she doesn't fit in....Come on!!! Really!

really photo tumblr_mfs93tcQkw1r75ygio1_500_zpsfe46f070.gif

Now I will say this book wasn't bad. There was nothing wrong with the grammar, etc. I just felt been there, done that, no wow factor, so I quit.

I had high hopes for this one going in. Although it's the well used young billionaire boss sweeps naive ordinary gal off her feet plot, when I read he was an intensely private man who kept his emotions well shuttered, I settled in for a good read. Regular readers of my drivel will know I love a gruff, charismatic alpha. Unfortunately, although I was told that's the sort of guy Jack is, the Jack I saw in this frequently angry and wasn't afraid of talking about or showing his feelings to anyone. So not gruff and private at all really. And as time went on, nothing he said or did made me warm to him or their relationship I'm afraid. Yes, he was going through the motions but I've read similar scenes too often now to be affected by them anymore and his character just didn't stand out from the crowd.

She also grated on my nerves, sloshing back wine and playing one guy off against another, then hiding. That got old pretty quickly. And I still don't get what the drama was all about. Why couldn't he just tell her? Still scratching my head about that.

Ah well, at least it was a ku read so no great loss. :-(

Meh...this one was pretty good. It didn't WOW me or anything. The storyline was decent. The characters weren't too annoying. The sex was pretty hot.

I had to deduct slightly for the overuse of the phrase "tap that shit down".

Emma's boyfriend Marcus left her when she was pregnant. While still pregnant she goes to work for Jack. Fast-forward 5 years and Emma has been in love with Jack for the last two years. One night Jack admits he feels the same way about Emma and their relationship changes.

Jack has his own past and when Emma's catches up with her it puts everything she has with Jack in jeopardy.

I guess this one had a little bit of everything. It had some angst and drama....a few funny moments....some steam. Like I said, it just didn't wow me. It was told strictly from Emma's POV. It was a standalone and it has a HEA.

3.5 to 4. If you like a Gideon Cross/Eva Tramell type characters then you will enjoy this. I'm not saying the stories are the same, this is a stand alone book with no cliffy, but the strong, hot successful Jake McMillan has a lot of good Gideon qualities especially his controlling need to protect what is his behavior. What is his?...Emma. She is his housekeeper/personal asst who has been with him for 5 years while raising her son Logan on her own. She has always been in lust with Jake and it soon becomes clear that He has a strong connection to her and her son as well.

These two are pretty hot and heavy together and have good chemistry. They cannot get enough of each other, especially in limos, lol! when Emma is faced with her past as her son's (unknowing) biological father is hired by Jake and his asshat Senator father comes around with threats there is trouble in paradise for Emma and Jake, especially when Jake suddenly pushes her out of his life and leaves the door open for her son's father ,Marcus, to reconnect.

Similar to Eva...Emma won't back down..she knows the closed off and secretive Jake is affected by her and she will not give up. I like her alot!

Overall this was a quick read. I liked the characters. No annoying females...hot alpha males and a decent story. I will say the drama is very anti-climatic and the bad ass Jake gets off the charts romantic towards the end, but Emma stays herself and that made me happy.

Stacey surprised me with this story. There were moments of intensity with Jack and his need to control and moments with Emma's stubbornness that had you cheering for her.

Emma was able to break down Jack's walls for a little while and get past his three date standard. They were around each other all the time and naturally feelings can develop, but she always thought of her son, Logan. Enter Logan's father Marcus and things become very complicated for all parties who were looking for what was best for Logan. Lots of touching moments as Marcus gets to know Logan.

The sex was hot and not over the top either. Jack could could definitely give some of the alpha males some competition out there.

The story has a HEA, that brought out the mushy tears in this reader. Very romantic and steamy read.

I find myself with very little time on my hands lately. Where in the past, reading was equivalent to breathing, it's now become a luxury. Why I'm saying this is because lately, if I start up a new book and I'm absolutely not even a little bit interested after the first chapter, I simply move onto the next. I can not waste the little time I have on a book not special enough for me to focus wholeheartedly on.

When I picked up Don't Lie To Me, it was a game of Russian Roulette. It was still fairly new when I read it, it had a few good comments, but I've seen some of the worst books get at least 3 people who say it's good - so that's not really saying much. It was creeping up the list of Amazon's best sellers... but again... let's face it, there are so many books on that list that should just not be there... So yip. I didn't know what to expect. I'd never read one of Stacey Lynn's books and I'm sad to admit this but I'd didn't even know of Stacey Lynn until Don't Lie To Me. #blush

Anyway, a long story short, I got to reading it and I was like 'Hey Now!'. It started off mild (as most books usually do), but soon - very soon kicked into gear. I really enjoyed this book ladies! And I'm so happy it wasn't a true winner for me :)

So, Emma is a sweet girl who unfortunately had a little trouble. She got pregnant and then her baby daddy just ups and leaves her to handle the situation. Now it's a few years later and she's overcome all the obstacles life threw at her. She's raising her son, is somewhat content with her life... all is well, except that she had a major crush on her boss! She's loved him for years and he's never taken notice... until now :)

Jack - This is her boss - is a major Alpha. But he has a twist. He is a full on Alpha, but he's romantic and sweet at the same time. It's really a great combination. I loved Jake from the get-go.

Now, just as things start working in Emma's favor (ie. Jake takes an interest), her Ex walks back into her life. Now Emma faces some choices. #1 Does she go with her heart, try and just hope that everything with Jake goes in a positive direction? What happens when Jake decides that his and Emma's relationship has exceeded it's expiratory date? Emma knows Jake well, she knows how he ticks - She knows he's not the long term dating kind of guy.

Or...

Does she go with the 'safe' option of taking Marcus (Her Ex & the father of her child) back. The reasons for Marcus's disappearance all those years ago are easily explained. They make sense. He was not the bad guy we are first lead to believe when we hear about the past through Emma's voice. And Marcus is really sweet. Wants a life with Emma and his son. Love's Emma just as much as he did years back when they were dating. I loved Marcus just as much as I adored Jake.

It was a tough choice for Emma - but boy did she make the right choice in the end! It was touch and go there for a while. I really thought I had it figured out, but hell no!

If you didn't realize it yet, I really enjoyed Don't Lie To Me. It's considered an Erotic Romance, however, it's not at all dirty erotica. I would label it an Adult Romance since this book is not entirely focused on sex. There is an actual story involved, one you need to get involved in. No, I wouldn't say it's Erotic, it's just steamy and that's because Jake is stud!

I'm a little disappointed that Don't Lie To Me is a stand alone. I really could do with & would definitely read a followup!

Awesome book, great characters, uniquely refreshing and totally swoon-worthy!

3.5 stars. So the premise of this book has been told many times and I'm ok with it because I love the over the top alpha male and the girl that's been hurt before plot but......the climax was just...(insert confused face here and queue the cricket noises)!

*******SPOILERS********
So the hero falls for the girl after 5 yrs of her working for him or he just gave in to his lust after 5 yrs but everything is going good (sex scenes are hot) and then one day he just up and fires her after screwing her brains out almost abusively and no indication why. We are led to believe that its to protect her and when the reason for him needing to protect is revealed it totally didn't justify the way he had been treating her. He ignored her for months and really all he had to do was tell her what was going on and that she had to play along for a certain amount of time but nooooooo. This could have been a great read but it just fell short. Damn it, I hate when that happens!

This was a decent enough story... Emma has been working for the powerful Jack for five years, and she's lusted after him for the past two. But she keeps it in check because he never gets close to anyone -- he has an informal three-date rule: three dates and he's done. She'd rather keep her job than get involved and lose him after three dates. But she doesn't know that he's lusted after her since he hired her, and he can't deal when she goes on a date and takes their relationship to a different place. And then backs off. And then can't deal again and takes it even further. It's kinda cute to watch Jack struggle with feelings he's not used to, and the story ended in a cute place.

But OMG she needs an editor. You don't "dawn" a smile. You "don" a smile. You don't "hallow" your cheeks, you "hollow" them. And lots of extra words that looked like maybe were edits where part of the edited text didn't get deleted. Pulled me out of the story every time.

Oh my word, this was such a good book.

Jack was another hot alpha man-whore and Emma was his housekeeper! She started working for him when her ex left her when she found out she was pregnant (or that's what she thought)
So Jack has been lusting after her for 5years, until Emma starts dating (surprise surprise) he did not appreciate that.
So needless to say, he made his move and just so happens that Emma has been attracted to Jack for two years.
So explosive get together and awesome storyline. Jack is such a sweetie with Emma's son Logan. And then baby-daddy comes back into the picture...
Definitely a good story to read. Don't want to say too much, just that you have to go and read the book!

Definitely liking this author!

Enjoy!

Oh how I loved Jack McMillian, even when he was being a complete jerk. He is rich and sexy and has a sweet vulnerable side that you don't see often. Jack is a broken man, who is still hurting from his past. He now runs his father's company and is a well respected business man. But he is also void of any emotion. He dates, but after the third date those woman are usually history. He doesn't love any one, doesn't think he is capable of loving anyone. Until 5 years ago when Emma walked into his life.

"You and Logan are my world and I love you both. I will do anything to protect you and keep you both safe. You get me?"

Emma is a single mom whose heart was broken 5 years ago when the man she loved, and the father of her child left her. She started working for Jack 5 years ago when she was pregnant with Logan, as Jack's housekeeper and assistant. They have always had a great relationship professionally and Jack has always been there to take care of Emma and her son. But Emma has wanted Jack for the longest time, but she knows him better than anyone. Wanting Jack McMillian is wrong for so many reasons. But when Jack actually shows an interest in her she can't deny the feelings that he sparks in her. She wants him, has always wanted him, but loving Jack will only lead to a broken heart.

"I love you," I whispered into his ear as I leaned forward. "There isn't a single thing about you I don't love."

Jack has been waiting five years to kiss Emma and when he finally does the sparks begin to fly, which scares the both of them. Jack tries to fight it, knowing that it is partly wrong, but this is something that he has wanted for years. He has always cared about Emma and loves her son Logan. He finally admits to wanting her and their professional relationship become more of a personal one. Being with Jack is like a dream come true for Emma, but she can't help but wonder when she will wake up and the dream will be over. She knows Jack's reputation and gets more nervous as they approach their third date, wondering if this is it. Jack finds himself completely falling in love with Emma, something he has never felt before. He knows that there is some way he will manage to screw it all up. But he vows to always take care of and protect her and Logan. But what happens when protecting the person you love means having to let them go? Will Jack risk losing the one person he has ever loved in order to protect her?

"I've loved you for years, Emma, I just didn't know it. You are my strength, and you and Logan fill my heart with an amount of joy and love I never knew possible before you walked into my life almost six years ago."

Jack and Emma were perfect for each other. There was never a moment where I doubted Jack's love for Emma even if he made decisions that made me want to slap him for. He never loved anyone before and opened himself up to her in so many ways. There was a vulnerable side to Jack that you saw when he was with Emma. He had a dominating side to him that was very sexy, and was a little rough around the edges at times, and controlling and possessive, but you could feel the love he had for Emma. You could see how much he loved and cared for her. And the way he loved and protected Logan was adorable and sweet and will melt your heart. I loved Emma. She was strong and independent and knows what she wants, knows what was important in her life. And I loved how she fought for Jack.

I loved this story. Jack and Emma's relationship was not an easy one. It was an emotional journey with twists and turns along the way. Emma's trust issues and past came back to haunt them, but they loved each other and Emma would do what it took to fight for Jack, while he did everything he could to protect her. They were made for each other and belonged together. I loved the other characters in this book especially Logan who was so adorable. This story was so beautifully written and one of those books that drew me in right from the start. Don't Lie to Me is a was sweet, sexy and wonderful read, with just the right amount of drama to frustrate you and keep you wondering what will happen next. Stacey Lynn has done a wonderful job with their story and the ending will have you smiling. Loved it!! A must read!

This is one of the books I've been looking forward to so when I picked it up and started reading it I was already .....

Emma had her heart & dreams shattered while in college. She found out she was pregnant and the man she thought would be the love of her life, Marcus, left her. Emma dropped out of her first year at DePaul and started working for wealthy, sexy and controlling Jack McMillian the type of guy that I would totally

Jack has his own past full of tragedy and walls put in place to protect himself but one night Jack let's is composure slip. He was no longer able to withhold what he was feeling for Emma and I was ..

Emma is taking a huge risk with Jack ~ he is her employer, she has her almost 5 year old son Logan to think of and he has this three date rule which yep had me

Will Emma make it past the third date? or is this just a passing fancy for Jack? What happens when something from the past is revealed? Well I'll tell you what happened for me ~ First off this is a very steamy sexy read and Jack & Emma get together it is total

I admit I was on edge wondering if the ubber controlling Jack, who claims he doesn't date, would let Emma in and while I was waiting for that dreaded third date to come there were plenty of times that I would've ...

if I was Emma ~ the things that MAN (yes he's all man) could do! Now pretty early on there's a scene where door opens at Jack's place and I was...

and when all past secrets that are composed of "lies" come out I totally wanted to...

and when that MAN does something and I was totally preparing to

yes I had to pull the big girl panties up because there is one scene where I swear to I went from ..

to wanting to pull out some

to

my heart just broke for poor Emma. I felt like she couldn't catch a break at all! Now there were times I totally...

and yes I wanted to

Jack and couple other people a time or two but by the end of this book I was totally....

and every time Jack told Emma to "Tap it down, babe!" I thought how quickly I would've been yelling...

never leave my bed.

Don't Lie To Me was a 5 HOT EROTIC STAR read for me. I love Stacey's writing style and that it flows smoothly and it is consistent. I loved the times where she shocked me completely and times where I was honestly teary-eyed for the pain poor Emma went and had gone through. I loved Logan that little guy was adorable!!!!

This is Stacey's 2nd book following her first Just One Song. Don't Lie To Me is a standalone with an HEA that will have you both laughing and super giddy and actually wanting more! I highly recommend you add this to your TBR and read as soon as possible!

I was provided an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest opinion of Don't Lie To Me.

This book was super HOT! It was also very fun to read. Just the right length...loved it! 4.5 stars. Why not a whole 5? Well, let's just say I wanted a little more UMPH in the drama department.
So, in this book, we have a "I'm hot, sexy, rich and only sex up women 3 times before I cast them away" hero and a "I'm so sweet, innocent, I love nature, animals and small children as well as the old" heroine.
She works for him (classic) as a house keeper...he's loved her for years (classic) and is finally doing something about it.
Let's stop here a second....can I just say that the sentence above does not even COMPARE to the actual hotness of this scenario. This was just Perfectly written in "my book". Whew, I had to like..take a bath after reading this...it was sawwweeetttt.
Okay, so single mom falls for boss....blah blah blah....things happen...blah...blah...blah...she runs into old flame who is child's father..bla-no, wait, this is not blah...this was an amazing part of the book too.
So from there situations occur, people get pissed, people start blackmailing...blah blah blah....you have a few "what the hell is going on" moments from the heroine to the hero because OF COURSE the hero can't say anything to the heroine,(you know, it's one of those, me Tarzan, you Jane, I say what important you just suck my...-yeah you got me) and in the end well...does it play out? I'll leave that up to you to find out, but it does end in this book. There is no cheating and there is no real danger. Again, that's my only problem. You know how I am, I want my Alpha's to LITERALLY swoop in and save the heroine...not just behind the scenes and on paper.
Anywho-who, good book, very well written, great sex scenes and great love and family connections made. Totally recommend! I'd compare this to a Fifty meets Ana, after-hymen, without the props/toys and literal danger. But totally stands on it's own so I'm only comparing it so you have an idea.

3.75 "tap that shit down" stars..

I am a bit partial to stories starring a hot, sultry, billionaire. Jack McMillan finally admits to losing control around his PA of a number of years.

Emma found herself pregnant and on her own, forcing her to seek a job, straight into Jack's life. She organised everything, from his business correspondence to housekeeping and cooking his dinner every night.

The attraction was mutual, the steam was full on scorchio, and the story developed. There was angst, drama, flirtations, possessiveness, claim staking, tears and dimple licking.

I found it an easy, enjoyable, ok read..

I liked this one quite a bit. I think it will keep trying Stacey Lynn. This book shed all the issues I had with her previous novel (mostly some terribly unrealistic coincidences, and too perfect hero). Jack was far from perfect, but I did really like him. I loved how he was with Logan - totally melted my heart. I liked the twist on the Marcus storyline, but appreciated that we didn't end up with a love triangle.

I was more than a little frustrated with the fact that no one trusted Emma enough to keep her clued into everything that was going on. It was frustrating.

Overall a really enjoyable, touching story.

The title doesn't make sense for the story
Too much inner dialogue; like I skipped shit till I found the " "
The main climax thing was so fucking stupid

I liked the author's writing in the sense of writing and there were more dialogues after 20% so it was fine

But I'm rounding it off to a 3 than 2 stars

I got this book when it came out as FREE on Kindle a couple of weeks ago (or months but irrelevant) and the synopsis was okay, so 1-click I did.
I liked the premise of the book, the characters aren't too bad, the writing was fine, what didn't sit well with me was the conflict. I don't know if it just felt too rushed for me because it came out more than halfway through the story or it was not necessary at all. It could've been better in the sense that maybe the problem should've been slowly presented. I don't mind surprise twists in my reads, I loved those, but in this book it was like this character just made his presence known and then BOOM! There's a mysterious problem and the mysterious problem was solved in a month but the "solution" could've taken it less than that amount of time. I just didn't feel it, the impact, that heart-wrenching twist.

I really did enjoy this story. I think Emma was a good believable character. She had been through a lot and she did what she needed to for her son Logan.

Jack--I liked him in the story. He obviously had been through a lot and I did like the possessive nature he had towards Emma. He was a doll with Logan. What really irked me though

All the extra characters, Dean, Tate, Macy and even Marcus were great.

P.S. I really did love the very ending---great way to wrap it up.

Loved it!!!! In the past week I have read and/or started several books that were either poorly written or unoriginal etc... This was a breath of fresh air for me. Loved the love story (they have known each other 5 years, not 5 minutes), love the steamy scenes--but even the first kiss gave me butterflies. Love Jack--the protective alpha, loved the supporting characters--Emma's other friends. Definitely going to check out Stacey Lynn's other book now!

Didn't work for me. I had a problem with a few things. The plot with the ex & his father, totally obvious. Working for the H for five years and suddenly he HAS to have her, um ok. He asks her to never lie to him and then what does he do, oh yeah lies & acts like an ass rather than just tell her what's going on. Add all of that on top of her getting drunk WAY too often. (After a while it seemed like she was slurring her words every chapter.)

The story starts off introducing us to the two main characters. Emma works for Jack, taking care of his home and life. It's a typical employer/employee relationship but she wants more. Unbeknownst to her, so does he. All the fun of hooking them up ensues.

They fall into a groove and trouble strikes. Her young son has never known his biological father, as he abandoned them before his birth. He has now come back into the picture and brings more trouble than they could have anticipated. Logan loves him and he loves Logan so she rides the wave. It only leads to heartache.

They all struggle but eventually everyone ends up with their perfect partner and life goes on as intended. It takes a few arguments, drunken nights and one birthday party but it all works out.

The overall flow of the book is good with tight pacing. However, there are numerous typos, instances of words being misused, or being forgotten causing the reader to go back and re-read the sentence at least a couple of times to get the gist. It was distracting enough, and prevalent enough, in this case to be worth a star deduction, in my opinion.

Also the sex is borderline abusive in some cases. One instance is basically an assault but she doesn't revolve consent. I thought that got a little tedious after a few encounters. So much so, I almost started pulling for the other guy.

Not a bad little story at all. It kept me entertained and reading along.

Emma has been lusting after her boss for a couple of years now when out of the blue he makes his move that she never saw coming.
She is hesitant at first thinking that they can't get involved with her working for him. He changes her mind pretty quickly and they are having a hot and heavy time. Jack admits that he loves her and wants to keep her and her son safe.
Then a blast from the past shows up and things go to hell. From there the book just went down hill. If he is supposedly so rich why wasn't he able to fix the issue? Also why did it have to be a big secret from Emma what was going on. Of course when Logan's dad shows up and gives her the attention she needs she almost falls for his plan until she realizes no matter what Jack holds the key to her heart.

For me it was meh....

Some part were great and some not so much. I liked reading it but I won’t bother reading it again. I’ve already forgotten the story but it doesn’t mean the book sucked, it just didn’t make a good impression on me.

Great read

Wow! I Loved this book. Another amazing story, the right amount of love, excitement and drama. It’s great to see that the main male character not only loved her but her child. I laughed and I cried. Fabulous!

J'ai adoré ce livre. Emma et Jack sont très attachant. J'aime beaucoup l'évolution de leur relation.
