Thoroughly researched text and nearly 200 full color and black and white photographs, this is the definitive Camaro history. Camaro is the story of all the milestone models, and the comprehensive history of Chevy's enduring musclecar. Camaro provides extensive coverage on the tire-shredding, high-performance, first-generation cars, including the superb handling Z28, the small- and big- block Super Sports, Rally Sports, and Indy Pace Car replicas. The speed shop big-block street weapons built by Yenko, Nickey, Berger, Baldwin-Motion, as well as Central Office Purchase Order (COPO) cars, are also covered in detail. By 1965, Ford was enjoying wild success in the new youth high-performance market with the new Mustang, but Chevy was not going to be upstaged. In 1967, the unibody Camaro boldly arrived on the scene, and its impeccable blend of superb handling and stirring engine performance vaulted it to the forefront of the market.
