I'm the twisted mind behind The Gallows Novels and the After Death Series. If you want to know a bit about me, here it is: I spend too much time indoors and probably watch too many horror films. Some of my favourite things are; Alone time, people who know when to shut up, having a drink, eating pizza (usually after having too much drink the night before), reading books, adult swim cartoons, bad horror and sci-fi movies, proper good TV shows like Dexter & The Walking Dead, and last but not least having a laugh with my hilarious other half - this would usually include some of the above.

I really enjoyed this book! Like any really good series Sharon Stevens has created a cast of characters that are interesting, dynamic, and fun to read about, so as the series goes along your invested in what is happening to those characters. Sharon has done a great job through her books in shifting the focus from one character to another, adding new characters, and creating situations that keep you flipping pages. Fate Fallen stands out in the series because Sharon really pushes the storyline into some really horrific areas. The Twins, Shaun and Sarah, are the heroes of the series, but for them to stand at as heroes they really need bad guys to defeat along the way. In Fate Fallen the bad guy is really bad and the scenes that describe how bad will make your skin crawl. In past reviews I've compared Sharon's books to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I think is still very valid, and I hope a high compliment to Sharon because Josh Whedon always found a way of putting Buffy in dire situations while still humanizing her and keeping a sense of humor. Like Whedon, Sharon Stevenson puts her characters in threatening situations while they spout out quick witted dialogue that will make you smile. I really like that this story focused more on Elle because I like her as a character. I also enjoyed the scenes with Flicky in them because she really makes my laugh. I look forwards to what will happen with Rebecca. And the tease for the fourth book...well... that was really surprising and insures that I'll be picking that one up to. I highly recommend this book, it's the best in the series, and fills me with anticipation for all the books that will follow.

At the beginning of this great novel we meet Shaun and Elle, still to consummate their relationship, staying at a small hotel . Apart from the obvious, one other reason they are there is so Shaun can pursue his obsession over a boy who killed his own parents, and the little girl who then caused that boy’s own death. From this intriguing opening we are swiftly led into a series of fascinating encounters with and between trackers, mind-readers, fairies, witches, wolves and vampires, described with the verve and drippingly sexual overtones we have come to expect from Sharon Stevenson’s work. The author’s smooth narrative style and ease of expression imbues characters and settings with great authenticity and viability. A series of traumatic, tense episodes involving mind-reading, teleporting, spells, and, in particular, horrific, blood-splattered visions of the future, keeps the reader enthralled and gasping for more. We meet a host of characters, including Shaun’s sister, Sarah, and witness the chilling re-emergence of the vicious, unrepentant Adrian, amongst others. This action-packed drama combines the immediacy of the at times gruesome and stomach-churning present with characters’ re-examination of and discoveries about their pasts and, even more disconcertingly, extremely disturbing visions of the future. As mentioned, this is all further set against the intriguing background of Elle’s and Shaun’s faltering relationship and their romantic ‘brushes’ with other partners from their pasts, presents and even futures. Classically, and beautifully done. A thriller, horror-story, whatever you want to call it, with that vital added ingredient. Namely, class.

An excellent continuation:

What I like best about Sharon Stevenson's Gallows novels are the characters. The books are fast paced, but have hit their stride, and the characters are really starting to shine through. I think Shaun as the "lesser" tracker actually developed first and we are really starting to see the layers now, and many of the cast of characters are doing the same with little gems here and there. I've actually thought Sarah had the least dimension, but she is also starting to come out strong.

Now that we're three books in (with a teaser of the fourth at the end), you really have to start at the beginning if you're a new reader. Stevenson keeps up the pace, letting us fill in what we need or what we should already know from the genre, but newbies won't get properly introduced to either the characters or the "rules" of the genre by jumping in midstream. They should definitely start at book one.

Okay, so I guess I'm now officially addicted to this series. I still defend the claim that I don't usually read chosen teenage hero/demon hunter/vampire stuff, but I'm totally making an exception for this author. Last thing I saw on her website, she'll publish the next three parts soon, and I know I'll be among the first to purchase them. Blame the unique humor and the more than relatable characters.

Another amazing book by Sharon Stevenson. I really like this series and where it has been going. The characters are very interesting and so are the events. I like that we are getting to know a little more about Elle and can't wait to see what happens with her and the other characters in the next book. A lot of my favorite things are in this series, including fae, hunters, werewolves, witches, and vampires.

Fate Fallen is the third book in Gallows series about demon hunters. I like the author's voice and the witty dialogues. Too bad this book is not about my favorite character in the Gallows series, Sarah. While I enjoy reading about her brother, Shaun, I can't connect as well to him (perhaps because we're different genders?).

If Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a bickering set of Twins she'd be the Gallows Twins from this series of books. Which I guess is my way of saying that this is a really fun set and exciting set of books. This is the third in the series and I think it's the best book of the three. Sharon Stevenson has a very personal and inviting writing style that combines very well with her stories and characters to pull the reader in and really make you a part of what is going on. The action in this book is atmospheric and very suspenseful and centers around a villain that is just plain scary called Adrian. Stevenson skillfully pushes the action forward, bouncing back and forth between the Twins and their different dilemmas in such a way that leaves you breathlessly turning pages. i really enjoyed this book, and I would highly recommend it. I'm ready for the next one.

This a fantastic paranormal book and I really enjoyed reading it. This story covers two twins Sarah and Shaun Gallows who are demon trackers and personality wise total opposites. What you will find in this story is a lot of drama, suspense, intrigue, visions, obsession, brutal murder, teleportation, fairies, a necklace, a Seelie Prince, memories, Earth-bound Fey, Darkland Fae, human slavery, trackers, dreams, shapeshifters, a she-wolf, vampires, cages, killing, Council, a witch, demons, psychic barriers, a demonic cop, daggers, brothers, a mirror, Darklands, a contract, a Seelie Knight and there is a intriguing and tantalizing extract for book four at the back of the book. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. I would recommend this book to people who like to read interesting and fascinating paranormal books.

The twins are back and their demon tracking world grows darker still. Shaun learns it is a bad idea to bring a date to a haunted house when a murder mystery quickly spirals into a cat-and-mouse game with a deadly Fae. Sarah and Ray’s relationship is put to the test with Ben and an even greater threat: Sarah’s mother. The ass-kicking in this installment is in prime form, and Stevenson knows how to write at a rapid pace to keep you turning the pages. My favorite Dev cracks me up as usual, and the end is a tantalizing peek into what further challenges away the twins. The wry humor, twists and turns, and secondary characters who constantly keep the twins on their toes make this a great urban fantasy series to return to again and again.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The focus of Book 3 firmly switches back to Shaun, but Sarah still gets her time in the limelight too. I’m glad we finally learn what Shaun’s dagger is all about and we really get to learn more about Elle (Teri). This series really does a great job of tying the entire supernatural world together like it should be. Shaun and Sarah become more dynamic with each book, which in my opinion is needed in order to keep a series alive and interesting. Great characters and plots!

I am quite the avid reader and the way this book just thicken plot wise had me on edge as to what was gonna happen with Shaun role in this mysterious prophecy and how it all connects with Elle aka Teri. What's Sarah's role in all this and if that wasn't enough what's gonna happen with Ben, Ray, and Dev? Definitely a must read though, in order in the series like a key book to the series. I am thankful for the opportunity the author gave me to read and review this book

More curmudgeonly urban-fantasy fun with demon hunter Shaun Gallows, his twin sister (and fellow demon hunter) Sarah, Shaun's human psychic girlfriend, evil fairies, dead fairies, dead evil fairies, and possibly the end of the world. Sometimes I had trouble following what was happening, but the characters are so great and it's all so much fun I didn't mind.

This is a different perspective on the fey-folk from any other I've read, which was really refreshing. I loved this opportunity to learn more about Shaun and what makes him the man he's become. The drama and intrigue had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me guessing right to the end. I can't wait to read what else is in store for the Gallows twins.

I really enjoyed this book. We get to know Shaun a bit more which is great. I do have to say I'm really glad I do not have the Gallows twins luck... they get into every bad scenario possible but it's great to read how they get themselves out of it. I can't wait to see what happens next.

The Gallows Novels books 1-6

Twins, Shaun and Sarah are as different as chalk and cheese, but both are demon trackers.
Shaun is more of a loner and doesn't like his job, while Sarah jumps in with both feet and gets the job done, while still finding time for her friends. The story is told from their points of view which, in my opinion, gives more of an insight into their individual characters.

Demons, vampires, werewolves, witches and fairies... this series has them all!

The books are fast-paced, easy to read, and enjoyable. I originally bought book 1, but having read that, bought the box set 1-3 followed soon after by the second box set (books 4-6).
