Carter stared at the dark crimson blood that now covered her palms. The reality was gone. Kneeling on the floor, she stared at his body, which lay motionless and cold—gazing in disbelief as his vacant eyes stared forever into the distance, at nothing, forever. “You killed him,” John whispered.
No one can be trusted in T.M. Williams’s heart-pounding new novel, Sun Gate. The second book in the popular Bohemian Grove trilogy finds Carter doubting everything she thought she knew while knee deep in the Peruvian jungle. Carter, a descendent of the alien race ,Anunnaki, is in the fight of her life. The only one with the potential to communicate with the Anunnaki on their home planet of Nibiru, Carter’s survival hangs in the balance.
She is being targeted by the Vaticates, also known as the “protectors of the faith,” whose existence relies on the suppression of the Anunnaki. Discovery of the Anunnaki would ultimately lead to the end of religion and faith, and the Vaticates will stop at nothing until the only link between this world and the Anunnaki is killed.
Before the Vaticates can be stopped, however, Carter must first find exactly how to communicate with her alien ancestors—a quest that ultimately must take her to the ends of the Earth. Complicating matters further is Carter’s romantic feelings toward two of her travel mates, William and Jack. The tension between the three of them is palpable, making an already difficult situation even worse. But a shocking death soon sends Carter into a spiral of grief and depression. She must force herself, however, to continue the journey to understand the Anunnaki’s existence. Their travels around the world take them everywhere from Peru to Chicago to New Mexico and all the way to Egypt.
Along the way, Carter and her team discover that the only way to communicate with the Anunnaki is through a hole into another dimension. This sets them off on a trip to Sun Gate, where Carter is finally able to communicate with those on Nibiru. But as they move closer toward stopping the Vaticates once and for all, Carter discovers that everything is not as it seems. No longer sure who is trying to help her or kill her, she must find the truth before it’s too late.
A fascinating science-fiction adventure packed with alien philosophy and conspiracy theories, Sun Gate will leave fans on the edge of their seats for the exciting Bohemian Grove finale.
T.M. Williams began her writing career by accident when a song inspired a story. Once she discovered the writing bug she couldn't stop. Since starting her writing career late in 2012 she has gone on to write several more novels, including three Amazon best-sellers.
Let me start by saying I was given an advanced copy in return for an honest review. That being said, let me say I am THOROUGHLY enjoying this series! I had bought the first book and could not wait to read the second one so I had jumped at the chance for an advance copy.
This series follows Carter, a beautiful woman who is still learning about her family and it's secrets and where she truly belongs. She has found out that she is part of an ancient alien race that has come to earth an been helping the humans along at intervals throughout history. Evolutionary steps that would have taken thousands if not millions of years on our own had their timeframes cut dramatically with the help of these beings, which by the way, look like us.
The Vaticates are an order that is out to destroy these beings called Anunnaki. Jibril, the leader of the Vaticates has said many things to Carter that contradicts what she has been told by those that are claiming to protect her even though she does not seem to have any doubt that they will not do her harm. She must learn if what Jibril is saying is true or if it games he is playing to try to get her trust and to have her on his side. She learns much more of this man and his reasons for what he does in this second book. Though more mystery remains!
In this second book she learns more of her powers and is still trying to learn to control them. Part of those powers is her connection to William. The draw she still haves toward William is undeniable but she has a love for Jack that seems to help her through so much. She needs them both. She is making her choice, but will it be the right one? Will it get them killed? Either relationship will have its dangers in my opinion.
T.M. Williams also paints very beautiful pictures of the places this group of more and more interesting people visit. From the pyramids in Egypt to an Indian reservation in New Mexico.
I have read everything T.M. Williams has written to date and look forward to more! I would definitely recommend.
When an author writes a sequel, the bar is raised. Readers are already familiar with the core cast of characters, they know the plot lines and have certain expectations. As such, there is an element of risk.
T.M. Williams has crafted a very fine novel here. Welcome back, dear readers, to the realm of the Anunnaki, a place where friend and foe are often not clear cut and knowing who to trust can be a matter of life and death.
The story starts right off where BOHEMIAN GROVE left off. Carter, William and Jack are now in Peru, on the trail of Jibril and the Vaticates. Trouble ensues very quickly, as one would expect. Carter learns of another type of Anunnaki that is reptilian and her senses grow more acute. A journey to Machu Picchu results in Carter's first experience with the Sun Gate and portals that Anunnaki can travel through. She learns more of her heritage by going to the Zuni Reservation in New Mexico. A murder in Chicago, a trip to Alaska and the ultimate journey to the pyramids of Egypt for their meeting with destiny round out an action packed tale.
Carter's triangle with Jack and William goes on but its form changes as she learns more about herself. One has her heart, one has her soul.
Jibril plays an intriguing role. He is the leader of the Vaticates, so he is their enemy, right? Well...you'll see.
William learns a lot about his own heritage that surprises him.
Jack is a strong character, a human thrown into the intrigues of the Anunnaki and coping as best he can, driven by his love for Carter.
There are secrets within secrets, plans within plans, nothing is black and white in this tale.
I enjoyed particularly the use of parallel universes and the notion that human evolution was actually directed by an alien race. Is it possible?
This book is very hard to put down. I certainly wanted more when it ended. And there will be more - Book 3 is on the way!
I heartily recommend this novel. It will entertain you and make you think!
Whoops, forgot to come through and add in the review!
I had been anxiously awaiting the release of the second book in the Bohemian Grove Trilogy, and boy, it did not disappoint. Much like the first book (Bohemian Grove), I could not put this down. It's been quite some time since I read the first book, but I was able to easily pick up the sequel and start reading without wondering "wait, what happened in the first book again?!". Usually I re-read all the books in a series when a new book comes out, but I figured this one was still pretty fresh in my mind and I'd be OK. I was right about that.
I loved watching Carter try to decide between Jack and William. I'm Team Jack, so it broke my heart every time he'd catch Carter and William "having a moment". The love triangle isn't the main focus of the book though. Throughout there were a lot of little clues and just enough danger to keep you yearning to read and learn more. I felt that it was easy to identify with Carter, and that makes the story much more compelling. I can not wait for the conclusion of the trilogy, especially after the shocking end to Sun Gate.
*I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
This book picks up where Bohemian Grove(book 1) lets off. You are quickly swept up in the action and the love triangle between Carter, William and Jack. You are soon on the run with the trio and their host of guards. Jibril is back with all new tricks up his sleeve, but are they all bad? We find that Carter is growing as an alien. Is she finally ready for the next plane? Are we as humans ready for the next step? Can we handle it?
There are pivotal points in this book, where you as a reader have an ah ha moment and really think. Could this be true? Could this have really happened??
There is conflict, anger, love, happiness and a slew of other emotions you will go thru while you read this book. I read this book so fast, because I HAD to know what was going to happen.
I have no doubt that book #3 will be just as riveting as book 1 & 2 have been.
Yet another amazing installment to the trilogy by T.M. Williams. I cannot wait for the final book, and to see what other adventures are in Carter's future. There were so many surprises in this novel, that there was no way to predict what our next surprise would be. The enemies and friends aren't exactly who we think they are, and the biggest traitor of all will just break your heart. Excellent job on this, and I can't wait to finish the trilogy!
