A beautiful book with a typical layout for trail guides. There are wonderful overviews and trail descriptions for each section. Most of the information is there in the book, and for section hikers or for the planning session for a thru hike this book works well. The layout is not really the best for use while doing a thru hike however. The paper while nice for the wonderful pictures is quite heavy making for a cumbersome package even if the binding were cut into the resupply sections. The Florida Trail Guide did a wonderful job with formatting and I wish other long trail guidebook authors would take note. Also no information on fuel availability in the town guide section. On the plus side, it is available in a kindle version so really taking the whole book has no weight penalty if it is used in that format.
