Ibn-e-Safi (also spelled as Ibne Safi) (Urdu: ابنِ صفی) was the pen name of Asrar Ahmad (Urdu: اسرار احمد), a best-selling and prolific fiction writer, novelist and poet of Urdu from Pakistan. The word Ibn-e-Safi is an Arabian expression which literally means Son of Safi, where the word Safi means chaste or righteous. He wrote from the 1940s in India, and later Pakistan after the partition of British India in 1947.

His main works were the 126-book series Jasoosi Dunya (The Spy World) and the 120-book Imran Series, with a small canon of satirical works and poetry. His novels were characterized by a blend of mystery, adventure, suspense, violence, romance and comedy, achieving massive popularity across a broad readership in South Asia.

More information about Ibn-e-Safi can be found on http://www.ibnesafi.info and http://www.wadi-e-urdu.com/

Most of the original first edition title images of his novels on goodreads.com were obtained from Wadi-e-Urdu.com website.

Title : Queen of the Mountains

This one clearly seems influenced by H.Rider Haggard's King Solomon's Mines.Fareedi and Hameed join an expedition as labourers.

The expedition includes two Englishmen and a girl and they are searching for a treasure in the land inhabited by a wild tribe.

The tribe has a queen and their custom is to find a white husband for their queen.

Pretty absurd story, the worst Jasoosi Dunya book I've read so far.

This story, which was originally written by Ibn-e-Safi has such a zany plot and is so full of irreverence and old-world charm, that it should have been a fun-fest. I mean, you have here, a really exotic Himalayan tribe, a hidden treasure, a mysterious statue, a deadly gorilla, three Englishmen and two bumbling and smart Indian detectives constantly ribbing each other off. And all of them in one single story! This should been heaps of fun! Right? Well, wrong. For we have a really stilted translation playing spoilsport. And by stilted, I mean worse than the Google-translate kind. And it ends up ruining the whole experience, quite efficiently.

What a shame then! And what a let down.
If only one could understand Urdu, in which the original story was written. Such a pity.

Book is ok, it's an adventure story, but it lacks much on the story, mostly it's about the fights with the tribals and there ways.
