Indebted to wealthy Argentinian Don Sebastian Valdevia who saved his horse at auction, Charles Dupont, the Crisco Kid, undertakes a mission for his benefactor to find the daughter of the woman he loved, held by the notorious bandit, El Tigre. Brand would not, of course, get away with calling a character the Crisco Kid these days, but other than that, it's an interesting Western, full of action, revenge, double crosses, strong heroes and evil bandits, and a wonderful horse. The heroes name makes it a hard sell.

I got it because it was a western and it had a horse as the cover, the reason for my lower rating is because the horse wasn’t the main star.. I enjoyed the writing and the author definitely is talented with writing, many times i could really feel like I was in the scene with how well it was written, but I feel like it was missing more horse action considering the cover. It is a quasi defector/traitor/very slight romance… I feel like it didn’t really commit to a real trend, it is covering all the bases of western, horses, romance, traitor, bandit, but not actually covering any one of those topics in a real charge , half-hearted of each topic I would say.. the writing gives it 2 stars, the charge of it gives it 0 stars, but it was entertaining so that’s 1 star.
