A crusty western in the Arizona territory. The hero is an Arizona Marshall chasing bank robbers who turn out to be working in concert with a radical polygamist cult. A good plot with, surprisingly, a fair amount of credible humor. The author, to his credit, makes a distinction between the honest, kindly, hard-working Mormons and the oppressive demagogue cultists who, in the name of religion, trample on the rights and agency of those not able to defend or protect themselves. This is the first Ralph Cotton novel I have read. I was not disappointed.
