Life, Love and Cheese Toasties

Rate this book
Tony Peters is having a very bad morning. It's early, it's Monday, he's hungover, his head throbs and the club he supports has just been knocked out of Europe.

Could things get any worse?

Well, he doesn't know yet, but the shrill ring of an office phone will not only trigger the break-up from his girlfriend, Kaz, but forewarns the end of the cosy, predictable, stable life that Tony so covets and coddles.

Thankfully to console him, Tony has his three best mates – Sheppard, Peter and Elyse – who like nothing better than to drink, talk rubbish and provide supportive advice in times of need and retrospection.

But what happens when his friends move on and grow and prosper, but Tony stagnates, desperately clutching to the comforts of his single life?

Is he a commitment-phobe, or just understandably clinging to easier times?

And could there actually be a burgeoning relationship with Elyse, crossing those friendship boundaries which have existed for many years and circumstance? And why has he only now just noticed how sexy his colleague Liz is?

So, join Tony and his friends as they negotiate London in the nineties! Through drunken pubs, cringe-able comedy shows, bizarre poetry readings, random bar-room fights, salmonella-laced BBQ wares, and the frightening-yet-exhilarating transition of friendships, from doubt to hope.

And all in the sake of a better understanding of life, love, relationships … and the quest for the perfect cheese toastie!
