As someone who find themselves zoning out when reading, the Reader’s Bible is a perfect way to keep your attention. How does it do it? It removes everything aside from the text, and small chapter markers on the left margin of the page. This format keeps you engaged, and reminds you often that many of these books were originally letters, and could be read without section titles or verse markers. I appreciate the simplicity which keeps me reading on.
Narrative portions remain exciting, and there’s enough formatting in poetry to give you a clue as to the genre you are reading. This Bible has been perfect for daily devotions, and I recommend it for anyone who just wants the text.

A cautionary remark I would apply is that you lose important footnotes, and other information which could be helpful. Because of that, if you are a newer Christian, I would recommend starting with a study Bible that helps you understand the context and larger narrative of the Bible.
