Nathan Shumate is a Utah author, small-press publisher, assemblage artist and dilettante (although he prefers the term “Renaissance Man”). He has written (and gotten paid for) comic books, screenplays, and various forms of fiction and non-fiction. His short stories have appeared in the magazine Amazing Stories, the anthology Monsters & Mormons, and other venues. Anthology problems, the struggle is real. Several of the stories just don't appear to be constructed at all. They are really tough to read. It's a shame, because there are some good stories included. It's a nice collection to skim through, but not a solid collection.
