As a child, Hayline Houston was taken from her biological family by a mafia. After a hellish four years, she ran away and was rescued by a boy who adopted her as his sister.
Growing up, she chooses to believe her kidnapping was only a ghastly dream, until the Mafia is taken down and a shocking news story surfaces addressing her.
It's the same day she falls for the vocalist in an online worship band thousands of miles away. After becoming hopelessly enamoured with him, she sadly gives up on her crush after stalking him online.
Since then, she has been a magnet for boy troubles until one such boy almost destroys her life, leading her to surrender to God, and learn to trust His intentions for her.
So the last person Hayline expects to stroll into her life is the handsome vocalist from the online worship band, whom she had given up on years ago. When sparks ignite between them, she leans on God’s will to avoid repeating her past mistakes.
But when her biological family discovers her and her worst nightmare happens, can she trust God with her future?
Karen Daliath is a Christian young adult who loves her Creator more than anything. She loved reading since she could remember whether they were stories or interesting news articles. Though growing up, fiction conquered her full attention, and she has now barely time for non-fiction.
Unlike most authors and her own sister, Karen wasn’t a fan of writing until the Covid-19 pandemic. She started her writing journey on Wattpad with fanfictions in 2020 and then made her debut on Amazon in 2022. Now, writing is the second-best, most beautiful part of Karen’s life she can’t live without.
Karen writes closed-door romances, both contemporary and fairytale, through which she hopes to share the love of her Christ. She lives with her younger sister (Katelyn Daliath, author of RED ROSE OF ORDELIA) and her parents. When she is not writing, she is lost in a book to escape reality, singing, having bookish talks with her sister, or helping her mom around the house with cooking and cleaning.

Comment: Well... I've got a lot to say..., but would like to start by saying that I can't believe I finished this book so fast (at least faster than even I expected 😁)
I also have to say that I was captured the moment I saw the cover of this book. It's just gorgeous 😍
If you are a lover of Wholesome Romantic Christian Fiction with a touch of Mafia and a faith-filled story then this is the book for you.

Comment: So, I had high expectations for this book. Since the first time I read the Blurb, I was curious as to how would the story unfold. I hadn't read anything from Karen yet, but I am always open to Christian Fiction books and I am so glad that I gave this book a try. Believe or not, this book got tears out me..., both sad and and happy tears. Keep reading and you'll understand why.
POV: So, this book is written with a single POV having Hailey as the narrator of the whole story. [I would like to comment though, that I would have liked to see a Haxsel and/or Rilden POV too, but it made sense having Hailey telling the story since everything revolved around her.]
Tropes: Here we find many tropes such as: Coming of age, trusting God, finding truẹ love, big God moments, loving adoptive brother, shocking discoveries/suspense, forgiveness, protective best guy friend, loss/grief, he's a worship leader, found family and maybe more.
Genre: Christian Fiction.
Likes: So, I really love so many things about the book. First, the cover which, like I said, is just gorgeous. Next, the compassion show through different characters throught the story, specially Hailey. Which leads to this book also having an amazing faith content.
I loved the romance (of course 😍). I love the whole dynamic with her biological family. I really thought I was gonna dislike them, but they all won my heart. I also love the reminder through the story about God's unending love towards us even when we fail, His love never fail. ❤️
Dislikes: Dislikes?!?!?... well... there were just 1 or 2 things I didn't exactly enjoy. First, the length. And I know it may sound a little ironic, but I ate up the second half of the book cause it was just amazing. Now..., the first half was too long for my taste (also because the main romance is not found in this 1st half), but I do have to mentioned that without that first half, the rest of the story would have less of an impact.🤷🏻♀️
Secondly, I also had a minor problem with Hax and Hailey's relationship at first. For me Hax was too loving of a brother. Sometimes... the moments between Haxsel and Hailey were so weird for me. Like... sometime it felt like Hax was the dad and other time it felt like with whatever he said or did Hax was her boyfriend. Maybe it was just me because I don't see that in siblings relationship around me. Who knows... maybe it's just a family thing or a cultural thing, but I just remember cringing a lot in the first half of the book. Later on, that aspect got much better... thankfully 😁
Lastly, I was expecting though to have more action regarding the mafia and all the turmoil that it brought, but that just wasn't the main focus of the story. It is in the background, but not as present in the action of the whole book.
So, this was my first, but not my last, book by Karen Daliath and I am definitely looking forward to reading her other books.

This book was a moving, compelling, and touching story of a teenage girl whose Christian faith is strengthened and sometimes at odds with her romantic escapades (if one could call them that). Hayley's relationship with her brother and with God are the bright spots in her life, but as she deals with past traumas, current boy dramas, and an entire familial past she didn't know about, both of those relationships are tested... There's a lot that happens in this book and it is extremely long, but the author's simple writing style and fast-paced plot keeps things moving. I liked the MC's friends and her relationship with Rilden was so very sweet. This would be more of a YA, coming of age than an explicit romance book for sure.
Overall, this was a good read. I like the fact that she learned to lean on God. A nice solid Christian Romance. I feel a lot of teens could benefit from this story.
I did think, however, that it might have been a little better if the first half was condensed more, or maybe separated into two books as it felt a little long. The names of the boys were also a little strange for me, but I understand unique names are the norm these days lol.
I loved the ending, and I loved how everything went throughout!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily, all opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author for an e-ARC of this book! ❤️ This was a very heartfelt, lushly descriptive Christian book that always points back to God. There is such a sweet focus on God’s care and plan for the character’s lives (which serves as a sweet reminder for the reader’s too). This book is thick with many different storylines and tropes (but they don’t feel tropey at all here) from found family/ adoptive family, deep friendships, God working miracles and answering prayers, big twists and turns, suspense/ mafia, childhood crush. We follow along Hailey’s journey from a young age and watch her navigate wild circumstances and grow up, and even get to watch her find true love, plus it ends with a very precious epilogue! All in all, you can tell the author poured her heart into this book and characters and it felt easy to get attached to them ❤️
Oh my gosh this book was just amazing. Avery/Hayline had such a strong faith given her situation. I loved the relationship that she had with her brother Haxsel. He was the perfect protective older brother. I loved this book so much and I just don’t know what else to say besides amazing!!!! After every time Hayline was struck down she got right back up again. I admire the strength she has and the way she kept her faith through it all. At first I wasn’t sure about finding her biological family but once she did I was surprised at who her family was. I was glad to see her biological family was able to get along with her adopted family. My favorite part of the book was when she met a certain someone and they sat on a bench having a nice chat. I won’t spoil who it is. 😉😁 Thank you to the author for my advanced copy. These words are my own.
This book took me a hot minute to get through but it was worth it! I loved it and definitely would recommend to any Christian young adult! The second half was quicker to get through than the first half!
Having read the Wattpad version at least 4 times, imagine my surprise and delight that this book was going to be an official publication. I am really happy that this book has finally been fully released to the world. I was fortunate to read the book in advance of the publication and I loved it. Bearing in mind that I also loved the Wattpad version, I am extremely glad this published book was as good , if not better, than the Wattpad version. Congratulations Karen and good luck. I look forward to your future publications 💕🎉👏👏👏
I'm loving it! I got wrapped in the story in a way I could easily pass for a biography, I got angry with characters and loved them too, Haxsel (if I wrote his name correctly for the first time) is my favourite character and a certain guitarist is my future husband (sorry Hayley), Harry is a baby really, one of the few "bad boys" I like, my head is boiling with theories what is normal with a story that involves mafia, adoption, romance and much more!
I absolutely loved to learn more about messianic jewish people, I once made a schoolwork about it, but while reading the book I truly understood more about it, the fact I most like about the book is definitely about Jesus in Hayley and her family lives, oh and (SPOILER ALERT) Hayley truly surrendering and being used as an instrument in God hands 😍😍😍
I'm still an apprentice in the review area, but if you read this book you'll know about what I'm talking, there is ACTION, THRILLER, ROMANCE, BROTHERLY LOVE, FRIENDSHIP AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ✨JESUS✨! (plus everything you need for a nearly perfect book, I still think we need a truly Brazilian Christian representation, Naomi didn't make it well)
Ps: Nott should be in prison!
Ps²: We need to know what Haxsel said to Harrys brother say to Adam (who should be in prison too)
Ps³: More of Diana and Emmy and Rekenzel and all the amazing characters!
Ps⁴: WHY NICKY??? If you read you'll know what I'm talking about...
I first discovered this book last year when I was doing my 21 day fast. When I fast, I tend to abstain from technology and secular entertainment to focus on hearing God‘s voice, but one thing that I like to do is read Christian romance books and novels because it gives me a source of entertainment while also keeping my mindset on Christian principles. I found it really hard to find good Christian novels that are entertaining but not cheesy, and this book was one of the first ones I came across and to say that I loved it is an understatement. Like seriously, the way that the book keeps pointing back to God and Christian values and principles, and the way that the romance between Hayline and Rilden was written, was very beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone looking to read.
This book by Karen Daliath is. Self inspiring and delves into the themes of divine direction and redemption. Set in many beautiful and picturesque places , our dear writer brings us a thrilling christian ride
The book centres on Avery aka Hailey who was rescued from hands of a mafia gang to a family loving and caring. The narrative is rich in symbolism, portraying her christian life as a whole , following God's will in her both socially, in her faith and love life.....
I found this as a moving book portraying and expressing God's grace in our life
It is a most read for every christian girl with the extremely captured chapters it will obviously send you hooked up in the end!!!!
This book was the best book I have ever read in my entire life. I have read this book three times. That’s how much I loved it. I really loved this book, I mostly loved how the two siblings in the story got along so good and also how every one learned in trusting God and having faith
This book is very inspiring. Helped me adjust some things in my Christian life since I found my life so similar to that of the protagonist except that I wasn't adopted and the difference in age. Nevertheless it is one of the best. Rounded off with the book and being a bookworm I have to say it's the best book I have ever come across so far. I'd refer anyone to this book a million times. 💙🤍💙
