It’s been 22 years since the dragon king shifters defeated the White Witch. A new threat has emerged in Europe. An evil queen rules the hidden dragons with an iron fist and few have escaped. The escapees visit Obsidian and ask for his help overthrowing her. Obsidian isn’t ready to fight another war, but when his seventeen-year-old son lands right in the middle of the evil queen's kingdom, he has no choice. The next generation of Dragon Kings is emerging, but first they have to survive…
Kimberly Loth can’t decide where she wants to settle down. She’s lived in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Utah, California, Oregon, and South Carolina. She finally decided to make the leap and leave the U.S. behind for a few years. Currently, she lives in Cairo, Egypt with her husband and two kids.
She is a high school math teacher by day (please don’t hold that against her) and YA author by night. She loves romantic movies, chocolate, roses, and crazy adventures. Kissed is her first novel.
These books take place 20 years after the first set. The teenagers then are now parents of teenagers (man, they didn't wait very long to have kids). Trouble is brewing in Europe and one of the King's sons goes rogue to investigate. Really weird how feudal the European dragons are - almost like they're in the middle ages even in the cities. I found it hard to believe that they weren't exposed in the age of the internet. Have to wait until June to find out how it ends. Oh, and this is not really five books but rather one continuous story.
Book 1: The Dragon Kings is one of my all-time favorite series so I have been eagerly waiting for the Chronicles to debut. This book is mainly just an introduction to the new series giving you a glimpse into what life is like 22 years after the Dragon Wars. Sid and Aspen's son Liam and the European queen Isa are introduced and appear to be the main characters as the Chronicles continues. Each book in this series will be a cliffhanger but the next book will release 2 weeks later. You don't need to read The Dragon Kings series to read this one but I urge you to read it because it is awesome!
Book 2: Another page-turner to continue the Dragon Kings Chronicles. We have now met all the major characters for this new series and they are quite a diverse group. There are so many sub-plots in addition to the main storyline that I was enthralled from page one. Since there are so many episodes yet to come, the first two episodes have mainly been setting the groundwork for what is to come. Even though I knew it was a cliffhanger, I was shocked when this episode ended. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Book 3: Liam is being held prisoner but isn't sure Isa is an evil queen. Isa is beginning to realize the guardians are manipulating her and doing things she wouldn't approve of. Grace has revealed herself to Liam and now has to worry if he will keep her secret. Sid and Aspen are beside themselves with worry and don't know how to proceed. So much is going on that I couldn't put the book down. Loving the series so far. Looking forward to the next book.
Book 4: Things are really heating up. Liam now has free reign in the castle. Isa is exerting her authority more and more. Grace has revealed her true feelings for Jude. Ruby is researching the European dragons and Damon is determined to help. Sid is torn over what to do to get Liam home safely without starting another dragon war. So much going on and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Book 5: WOW! I couldn't put this down. So much is going on. Liam and Grace are working together to protect Isa from a threat within the castle. Someone sent dragons to kill American dragons. Sid has no choice but to follow the council's recommendation to go to war. Is Jens really all he says he is? And so much more. I know these are all short "episodes" and end in cliffhangers but I am ready to read the next book right now.
First five books of a 20 book series (I believe), this storyline shows me so many parallels to present day challenges. Inhabitants on one side of the world are free and out in the open about who they are. In another part of the world, they are in hiding, and everything points to an evil person is keeping them living in fear. The free side is contemplating if they should get involved . As with all potential conflicts, loss of lives need to be considered as well as someone’s loved one will be in danger. Now replace inhabitants with dragons . Boxed sets are a godsend because just like a TV series sometimes you just want to binge! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Didn't love this set as much as the first 5 books. It was still a good read, dont get me wrong, but I hated the 20 yr fast forward. I would've much rather had a series of 5 books in between these 2 sets where we watched these new characters grow up rather than having a new set of main characters thrust upon me. Also another full 5 book series without any serious intimacy and romance is just flat out boring. I'll read the next set because I want to know what happens to Liam. If there's more to the series after that and it doesn't get more steamy I think I might be done with this author.
In this set you will meet a new threat the the American dragons. Isa is the queen of all the European dragons but some kind of magic has made it so only certain dragons can fly but most are stuck in their human form. But some are trying to kill the queen to get their freedom. But Liam has went to spy on her to find out if she is evil or not but he finds more then they all bargain for. So enjoy this boxset and on to the next!!
I am loving this new generation of characters, although Grace does tend to lack any self confidence and there is some redundancy in her thoughts, she is still a strong character in the books, I definitely recommend this series but word of warning, this box set ends on a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER!!!!
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I am curious who is behind in these killings that are being rumored about the queen. I hope Liam can figure it out before his dad and the other dragons start war on queen Isa.
The story line seems to drag on relentlessly and the queen isa is as clueless as she is written to be beautiful. I was bored and felt as though I was being dragged through needless pages of “protect the queen” for the sake of having more pages in the book.
Each book throughout this set had me thinking "no way the next one can top this!".... But then each one did just that! Marvelous writing, amazing characters, epic story.. absolutely love it!! 💖💖💖
Set about 20 years after the end of the first box set. Sid & Aspen have a much quiter life now. This boxset focuses more on their son Liam & Skye & Rowan's daughter Ruby. Didn't enjoy it quite as much but still a good read.
I read to get away from everyday life and this series provides a delightful escape where adventure awaits and while allowing my imagination to paint the pictures of dragons in Yellowstone!
Fast paced, likable characters- a little too much focus or emphasis on physical attractiveness ....but a fun read- nice to read about continuing characters
Who is the real enemy. What is happening to the eggs and children? Is Jans a good guy, a bad guy or just an angry victim. Why can't Isa change forms? So many questions.
These stories have got me hooked I need to carry on and I am getting the idea that the next books are going to open alot of the stories within a story and pull me in deeper
