Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians. Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She's been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction -- first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own. Growing up as the daughter of a career soldier, she's lived all over the country and overseas. She recently moved to Galveston, Texas.

This Sole Regret fan has waited THREE years to finally get back to Jacob “Shade” Silverton’s story. I loved his book way back when and am thrilled that the rotation of characters in this series has finally gotten back to Shade falling for his sister-in-law, Amanda (Aunt Mander).

”The courts can’t take Julie away from me just because I’m in love with someone my ex-wife wouldn’t approve of.

Shade is my favorite guy of this series and if you’re familiar with the band Avenged Sevenfold, this rocker can only be casted by Matt Shadows. Shade is arrogant, insecure, the hottest lover in the series (dude has a sex swing, lighting, etc., in his bedroom). All he wants is a future with Amanda, and of course his little princess, Julie. Shade and Julie moments are so darn sweet (Shade in blue fairy wings) and she says the cutest things!

”A spa is a place grownups go to get pampered.” Julies eyes widened and she gasped.

“Mommy wears a diaper there?”

description

We are gifted with a few hot sex scenes, a lot of time with Julie and Shade putting his feelings out there for Amanda. They spend a wonderful day at the zoos in town with Julie and then a very hot evening together.

”You’d better bring a pair of crutches. I don’t think you’ll be able to walk unaided after I fuck you all night.”

description

Sadly, Amanda is afraid of her sister and what could happen if their relationship is exposed. When the truth comes out, Amanda doesn’t trust in Shade’s feelings, doesn’t stand by him, and crushes my guy. Oh how I love to hate Tina…

description

The story then hops back to the same time line as the last books have left on and Shade makes some big very big moves.

P.S. no paternity news as of yet.

P.S.S. If I have to wait three more years to get back to Shade’s final book I will completely lose it.

OMG I want to smash my kindle! Olivia Cunning is killing me!!!!!

After the way the last book ended I was dying to get more of this story. I want to know what’s going on with Adam, if Shade will shake his crazy ex... Who the hell is the baby-daddy? All of it. And I know nothing!

As we get a glimpse into a different side of Shade, we see his place in his daughter’s life. A look at a man falling in love with a woman he shouldn’t want – but that is perfect for him and a band that is falling apart just as everything in their lives seems to be going right.

I did enjoy this installment but I feel like I didn’t get one step closer to knowing anything about what is going to happen with these guys. Some of Shade’s story dragged a bit and having read Adam’s book – a bit felt repetitive (as we had experienced a few scenes from his POV). So I think that lead to more frustration than enjoyment. Although love these boys and their antics, I just felt like the story was much less overall because there wasn’t a whole bunch of new things introduced.

I have a feeling that as this series is wrapped up, we’ll get far more than expected and I can wait it all out – But overall, this just on its own was just okay. I think when I look back on the series as a whole, my thoughts might change – but at this time I just can’t see past a bit of my own frustrations.

I'VE BEEN WANTING MORE JACOB AND AMANDA SINCE THE END OF Take Me
And I just finished re-reading it all over again for the 3rd time and I still love it like i did the first time. and that means something am I right?

dear higher deities when will this be released?!?!?

Update: (03/06/16)

I have to let this out.

I have finished the book and you know guys that it is on my Top 10 most anticipated releases.

So imagine my shock when.... it ended that way.

I know it is bound to happen BUT I CANT EVEN.

for the next book tho, I think the ff will happen:

CANT BLAME ME THO FOR WISHFUL THINKING

Its the best way out for Tina! other than having her killed. (because trust me, I'll do it myself) Send her to a fucking facility with the crazies because damn that girl is poison.

Update: (07/24/16)

Okay I've been thinking.

Since I've got enough emotional detachment from this to begin thinking semi-rationally, I reread my "hazzard guesses" for the next installment. And I think I have another take on what may possibly happen:

Yea, either way I hope Miss Cunning doesn't disappoint.

I have been looking forward to this release for so long. Jacob & Amanda are my favourite couple in this series. It is exciting to read about them as there is always that element of fear that they will get found out and the added bonus that they are also incredibly sexy together.

There is only one female that Jacob will bow down to and that is his sweet daughter Julie. He absolutely adores his daughter and loves being a father to her. The only thorn in his side is his ex-wife Tina, Julie's mother. He just can't to seem to do anything right and she constantly tears away at his character, demeaning him and making him feel worthless.

Fortunately for Jacob that attitude has not carried over to Tina's sister Amanda. In fact, Amanda is the only woman who has made him feel like he is someone special. She makes him feel good about himself and praises him for being such an amazing dad. He is starting to develop feelings for her that feel really good and for the first time he is in a very happy place in his life.

Amanda just loves being with Jacob and spending time with her niece Julie. It's just a tricky situation when it's your sisters ex-husband you have the hots for. She torn between following her heart and taking that leap with him or keeping the secrecy up until she thinks her sister could handle finding out about them.
And about this time all the drama kicks in. Jacob gets completely blind sided - twice. He also makes a couple of huge life changing decisions that he hopefully can go through with or will Amanda become his one sole regret?

'He rubbed his eyes, wondering if he'd done the right thing. Wondering if he ever did the right thing. Sometimes a man had to make sacrifices to protect those he loved.'

Lots still to come in this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next with Jacob, I was gob smacked at the end! There are going to be a total 15 books in this series so there is plenty more to come from these guys. Next up will be Thrill Me, which will feature Owen.

Olivia Cunning is my guilty pleasure smut rockstar read and it's always just a fun treat to read her books. This was no different - this was fun and enjoyable.

It seems like it's been forever (and it has) that I've read about the lead singer of Sole Regret, Jacob and Amanda so when I started reading this, I thought it moved times along with me but it didn't so I had to adjust and figure out that just because it seems like years for me, it's only been a week in the story's timeframe.

This picks up where Jacob and Amanda left off and their story was the one I was most interested in and couldn't wait to read more about. This story had a sweet side because of Jacob's daughter Julie. Olivia Cunning wrote Julie so vividly and sweetly.

Tina the ex wife is crazier than ever and just when Jacob admits his love for Amanda, all hell breaks loose. And let me tell you - this does not end well and it ends in such a big ass cliffhanger and all things are left up in the air - the band, Jacob, Jacob and Amanda...!!! The waiting is going to suck!

Amanda didn't know which of the pair made her heart swell with more emotions: the gorgeous dark-haired, blue-eyed, muscled hunk who was currently wearing sparkly blue fairy wings on his back or the adorable four year old who had no doublt convinced him to wear them.

In these series, the problem is when you start to read them but did not go out all the books; I read the first seven last year and this latest installment, now, a year later; The irony in all this is that it is the action of the whole series going on in two weeks, more specifically, what is here described the two days that are described in the preceding sections; a series of course is not finished ... So, although it is good, I recommend to wait with reading until the end of the series

I think this is just me...I love Olivia Cunning's writing but this series just doesn't seem to be doing it for me. Maybe because it seems to be dragging on a bit?!? The story just doesn't seem to be moving forward and that makes me sad because I want to love it.

This is just a personal pet peeve (and no reflection or complaint against authors as I realize they have lives...I would NEVER contact an author to complain or berate because of this) when a series has cliff hangers I prefer them to be released much closer together than this series is. I pretty much read a book a day so I have a hard time remembering details and I have too much to read to be constantly re-reading with each release. As I stated this isn't a complaint against the author, just my .02!

Anyway, I will continue to read the series if for no other reason than to find out who the baby daddy is!!

This was a good one! Gabe was the one that sucked me into this series, but Shade has become my favorite of the guys with Gabe in second. In addition to loving Shade, his story is an interesting one full of angst, heat and heartache. I wish I had the will power to wait until the entire series was complete to read it but I just don't. I read a book then have to wait forever for the next one and piss myself off. Other than that, I love this rocker series and can't wait to see what happens with Shade and Amanda! That Julie is just too cute for words!

Arrgghhh! What a brilliant read but oh my what a way to end the book! I devoured the book in one sitting, I love Shade and couldn't wait to read more about his relationship with Amanda but the twists and turns just left me wanting more. Olivia Cunning certainly knows how to write a story that grabs you by the throat and hooks you in - this series is a work of genius.

I won't post spoilers but I will say that I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Tina in future books, what a cow!

This left me reeling for more. With no to be released for the next book makes me a very unhappy person!

And what is he thinking! If he even thinks of getting back with Tina I may have to hit him! And I'm not a violent person.

As the lead singer for rock band Sole Regret, Shade/Jacob had some things going his way. He was finally rid of his bi*chy wife, Tina and Tina’s sister Amanda has taken up residency in his heart. Jacob’s love for his daughter, Julie, was what mattered the most to Shade. Well, that and his new found love for Amanda; even if Amanda wouldn’t tell Jacob that she loved him as well. Amanda was in awe of the love Jacob had for his daughter. As for the band Sole Regret, things were getting tense for the guys because Adam wasn’t writing songs and the guys had a tag along that said she was pregnant with a baby that could belong to any of the band members.

How could this get worse…oh, let’s just say that Tina had threatened Amanda that if she didn’t publicly break up with Shade she would keep Julie from not only her but she would make sure Jacob wouldn’t be in his daughter’s life anymore. Then let’s add in to it that Adam had just taken off minutes before the band was to take the stage. Shade was sick and tired of covering for Adam so he gave the band the ultimatum that they replace Adam permanently or they were going to have to replace him because he was ready to walk away from it all.

I received this ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

Why can't these rockers find a moment of peace?? Just when you think thing will work out for Jacob and Amanda -> the evil sister|ex-wife creeps back into ruin it. Watching Jacob and Amanda spend the day at the zoo was priceless!! That said the crap hits the fan not only for just Jacob, but the whole band and leaves things in the air for the future.

For me to say I love Olivia Cunning books is to just state the obvious. I have to say out of all the Sole Regret books Treat Me one is my favorite. I would gush and gush about all the aspects I love but unfortunately this is going to be a very short review because if I say anything it will give away details. Let's just say this book is full of heart and passion. As you have read the previous books in the series, you know that we spent the first five books on one night each day in a row from each band member's POV. The second round of books has been a three day weekend in New Orleans and each book has been the same three days from different points of views of each band member. This book belongs to Shade and boy does it. Frankly I wouldn't mind if I belonged to him as well. Although we are hearing the same three days again but just from a different point of view the plot reveals details and beyond. It makes me want more and more of the series. Read it now and you will be as excited as I am.

This Ends in a Cliffhanger

I'm a little disappointed in our Ms Cunning. I love all her crazy rockers and I was really looking forward to this story with Amanda and Shade. I didn't know till the end that this story ISN'T FINISHED!! it ends in an abrupt unwelcome cliffhanger. It took me a couple of chapters to get into the story at first but then I hit the right spot & was living it. Then the cliffhanger. The Shade and Amanda story ISN'T the only story and that makes this drag a little as well.
So now we're forced to wait for the next book and if history repeats itself - there's no telling when the next one comes out!
So here I am disappointed and frustrated by a story I was really looking forward to but let down.
So here is my top concerns - the time between releases are VERY far apart - no definite release dates are given - these books are a bit pricey - I hate having a cliffhanger ending forced on me - and this story has a lot of balls in the air with ALL THE CHARACTERS.
Not really enjoying my reading experience right now.

Ok, uummm...holy hell of a cliff hanger Ms. Cunning! When can we expect book 9?????

This series is so darn good that I read through books 2 - 8 so fast that I don't remember what happened in each book individually. The story lines flowed through each characters books effortlessly. Therefore, I am writing one review for all 7 books.

It is not hard to see why One Night with each of these rock stars is all it takes to fall head over in heels in love with them. They are hot, sweet, dark, deep and funny. Their leading ladies all seem to have that underlying strength that drives them to do what is right and they struggle with sacrificing their happiness in order to help their loved ones be happy.

This is a definite must read series if you like strong but flawed female leads and smoking hot alpha males with a sweet core.

It's been awhile since we've seen the guys from Sole Regret, so I was delighted to get another installment to this series. I generally as a rule hate serial novels, and this is the only one I've been able to tolerate just because I love these characters so much. Olivia also writes these in a way that leaves you hanging on for more, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment.

Treat Me was sexy, but also filled with tons of angst and tension. I still can't quite believe what happened at the end, and I just want to smack Amanda up side her stupid head. Jacob leaves things hanging by a thread with the band, so we'll see what happens in the next book.

Grade: C+
It's been a long wait to get back to Shade and Amanda, and I was little disappointed in where things are left. This is a very long, drawn out serial. Each volume is around 200 pages but there are years between each couples next installment. But the author's engaging writing keeps me coming back and waiting for the next installment.

This one gets a little lower than normal rating because it seemed more a transitional story or bridge book and the ending left much more of a cliffhanger on several fronts than past volumes.

This was the longest book yet in the Sole Regret series and Olivia Cunning has done it again but this one was so much more. Holy Cliffhangers and I can not wait to see what is coming next. I just love Shade, especially when he's with his daughter which was most of this book. The first chapter threw me for a loop because it was a scene we already read but just skim over it, reminding you where you are in the story and start with chapter 2.
