After defeating Cornelius Hollister—the man who killed her parents and tried to destroy her country—Princess Eliza Windsor wants nothing more than to live quietly with Wesley, the boy she loves. It’s been ten years since the Seventeen Days, the series of disasters that decimated the earth. England was the only country to survive—or so they thought.

Others survived the Seventeen Days, and soon England is engulfed in suffering and bloodshed once again. Eliza and Mary become prisoners in their own home. To save her country, Eliza will have to rely upon all her inner strength—and learn to trust where she least expects it.

In the sequel to The Last Princess, Galaxy Craze has written another darkly atmospheric tale of adventure, suspense, and the unbreakable power of true love.

This had a new villain and a completely different story from book 1. I was expecting it to be a continuation. I expected aspects of the first book to be resurrected. This story was ok but felt sort of brief and just thrown together.

I also thought it was odd to add a second love interest for Eliza. I liked Tanner but their relationship was unexpected.

A thrilling, heart pounding, fast paced adventure, INVASION was an enjoyable second installment to THE LAST PRINCESS SERIES, that I've been eager to read!! INVASION has been one of my most anticipated books after reading the first book, THE LAST PRINCESS and thoroughly enjoying it. I've been dying to get back to this world and the characters that I loved from book one.

But to be honest, it had some let downs. After I started reading INVASION, I became a little weary of continuing. It felt as if I was rereading book one all over again. The similarities were insanely close, and the plot twist were eerily the same as book one. But because that was really the only complaint I had about it, I was able to push book one from my mind and enjoy INVASION for what it was; a great book that had me hooked, even with it's few flaws!

THE PLOT

Eliza has saved England and her family from the crazed dictator, Cornelius Hollister—the man that almost succeed in taking everything she cares about, and he also happens to be the father of the man she's in love with. After the Seventeen days brought it's harsh and unfair disasters, and ushered their County into the dark times, and the cruel and evil rise and fall of the infamous dictator Cornelius Hollister, all seemed lost and unrepairable. But now with her sister Mary on the throne as Queen, and preparing to marry the love of her life that will become her king, all may not be as lost as they once thought. That is until they're happily ever after gets cut short, and their country is plummeted into the same dictatorship they've started to heal from.

England has fallen, again...

When a ship is spotted at sea after the many years of being cut off from the outside world, England thought they were all that was left. But they were wrong, and now this ship has come like a beacon in the night, bringing faith and hope to the people of England. But when they go aboard the ship out at sea, cut off from the rest of England's troops on land, they realized they've made a terrible mistake. They're are other survivors, but they don't want peace and alliance, they want to dictate and conquer, just like Cornelius Hollister did when he brought hell to England, it's begun, again...

England quickly falls into enemy hands, unable to ward off their high tech weapons and quick seize, Eliza and the queen are taken hostage and forced to hand their country over to the most vicious and vile man they've ever met. The queen will be forced to marry their enemies leader, or suffer consequence she is not willing to endure. But Eliza is not ready to give up so easily, she's already faced down and won her kingdom back from one evil dictator, she will do it again, or die trying!!!

Overall, INVASION was great book even with it's flaws and some unnecessary plot twist. With enjoyable characters, and a world setting that compelled me to keep reading, INVASION was a thrilling read . I think if you enjoy apocalypse/dystopian books with a fast plot, strong characters, and adventure to keep it going, then you'll enjoy this book. This book can be read as a standalone, you do not have to read the first book to understand this book. But, I do recommend that you should read it if you want to get the full understanding of this book. But, at the same time, if you already read the first book, you may have issues with this book due to the similarities being so similar. But if you can get past all the similarities then I think anyone who enjoys this type of genre would find it entertaining and enjoyable like I did!

As a sequel to The last princess this book added very little to the first book. Its set a year later and is a whole new story that's actually pretty similar to the first. Once again a crazed dictator is trying to take over England, Eliza manages to escape with the aid of one of the crazed dictators men turned traitor and joins the resistance to overthrow him and take back the crown. Sound familiar? Yep its pretty much book one over again, only shorter and by the end instead of appreciating the series more I found myself questioning it more. As I'd read the first book directly before it was still fresh in my mind and the holes in the world building I'd managed to overlook before just became more apparent. So as a suggestion, I'd say read The last princess as stand alone which can be done but pick this up if your just that curious.

The story was just as interesting as the first one yet anyone could clearly see how it improved a lot. The pacing of the book was just right and the events weren't as impossible to see as the first one yet there were still a few events that was impossible as stated by a few characters and yet Miracoulusly happened. The writing was simple which added to the beauty to the book.

Eliza had some really great character development. From someone who rarely thought and just did, she finally became more mature in making her decisions especially as the book ended.

The romance in the story was well written despite it being somewhat insta-love. The love triangle in the story is a great example of how love triangles should be solved. Thumbs-up for me.

Si alguien prefieres no leerlo, recomiendo no hacerlo jajaj

This book is short and wraps up pretty quickly. I’m surprised by everything that happened in such short time.

SPOILER

I really don’t understand how Eliza caught feelings for someone else that quickly. Many sad parts in this book.

I think that the first book was way better. It feels as though she tried to duplicate Wesley's character for a love triangle. It didn't work cause the reader could clearly see she was in love with Wesley or a "version of Wesley." Other then that it was good.

Cover: Not as aesthetically pleasing as the last. Eliza's outfit is weird. It looks more Middle Eastern than English, but maybe in the future, English fashion is a bit more daring and diverse. I'm hoping we get to see a love interest on the cover of the last book in the series. Give us Wesley!

The Book: I had slightly higher hopes for this book, as The Last Princess was not impressive, but had potential. Invasion is definitely an improvement, but is also basically the exact same book with the exact same plot. It was like watching a movie in theaters and then seeing the straight-to-DVD sequel. There were a few new characters, but the plot was the same, although this story's events were completely irrelevant to the first's. There is almost no mention of the previous book's villain, Cornelius Hollister. Instead there is a different enemy with the same idea, but again with no motive.

I will give Galaxy credit for having more of a love story this time, although it was weak at best. The writing is definitely an upgrade, but still lacks depth. Eliza fails to show any kind of feelings toward the man who just died saving her, just as she fails to show even a small amount of character growth. The closest Eliza gets to maturing is when she realizes that yes, she loves Wesley, but she's young. Things change. Your first love usually does not last forever.

Something I did like about the book was how it mentions "Princess" Kate (love her!), although it's inaccurate. Isn't Kate's title "Duchess"? Supposedly, Eliza is Duchess Kate's (fictional) granddaughter, as Eliza refers to her as "Grandma Kate." I'm assuming she's not Prince George's daughter, simply because George is the name of the groundskeeper, and the book was written before Prince George was born. If it was written after, I'm doubtful that Galaxy would have chosen to use the name George for two different characters.

Other than the timid love story, the book was pretty boring until about 3/4 of the way through. All of a sudden there is war, intense political drama, and a revolution. Still not great writing, but more excitement than the first. It literally feels like I'm watching Twilight…mediocre acting, cheesy lines…it's all reaction, no emotion, no logic. It would be a perfect pre-teen movie because it's tame, there's no sex, but there is a fair amount of excitement.

I will admit that this book kept my interest just long enough to make me want to complete the series. Yes, I realize that this story's target demographic is a bit younger than the one in which I belong, so I can understand the reasons for the rushed storyline and lack of substance. It is something I could see myself sharing with my young nieces when they are old enough to enjoy reading for fun. So if you are looking for a great Young Adult read, keep in mind that this is more suitable for pre-teen readers. As of now, the last book in the series has not been announced, but I will give an update as soon as I found out when its release can be expected.

No na první díl to nemá. No, to je jedno... 4 hvězdičky to prostě jistí.

This book, the second in the The Last Princess series, started slower and almost lost me -- but I persevered. THEN the action started picking up. Again, it was an action-filled book which was good.

So ... Mary is queen and Eliza is living a quiet existance .... until the "ship" appears. It winds up being "pirates" (a little bit strange in a dystopian novel, but I can deal with it). Eliza and Mary wind up becoming prisoners on the "ship/submarine" but a new character appears to help them, Tanner, a young man on this ship who is instantly in love with Eliza. Okay. I'm okay with this, I guess. But I keep wondering what about her makes him fall so much in love with her without really even knowing her.... and she starts having feelings for him, too. Then there's the issue about her first love from the first book ... who is out of the picture at this time .... but she's falling in love with this Tanner guy.... so it seems... but she still loves Wesley ... sometimes ... Boy am I confused!!

I like the story idea in this one, enough to where I would like to see a third book for this series, but I don't think this sequel was developed enough. I think Galaxy Craze, the author, needs to go back to the story board and fill in the gaps, then re-release this book.

Galaxy, if you decide to do a third (and I'd like to see what happens with Tanner -- and Eliza, for that matter), please make shure you have a well planned out storyline, first!!

I may have expected a different sequel than what I received. This being said I will admit that I love Galaxy's Books and writing style but this one felt rushed and thrown together just to have a sequel finished. I liked the unexpected twist for some of the characters and was disappointed in Eliza'a flightiness facing stuff not even close to as bad as the first book. "The Last Princess" was amazing, by far one of the top books on my great reads list, I hope her next book falls closer to that list than Invasion did.

I LOVED Eliza in the first book of this series and found the take on distopian future a new one. This book however felt disjointed and choppy and like it was rough fan fic as opposed to a real followup book. I kind of sighed through the whole thing but at least I know how it ends and it was a fast read.

Why did I buy this? I didn't like the first one really, but I just thought that it would be okay for the price. And the preview was intriguing. The characters make stupid choices, again. The characters are fickle and pretty much jump on any male of marriageable age, again. Skip it.

While I did enjoy it, the book felt more like a novella to me. It was rushed and moved too quickly in parts. It was a wham bam thank you ma'am read.
