I am a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and some of their comics! A few years ago I was gifted this comic collection because of how much I love the MCU and I am so grateful to have been given this comic collection because it's so great! This is one of the funniest things I've ever read. This is technically a re-read, and although I remembered most of the content, I was still laughing so hard.
Some of everyone's favorite superheroes have big roles in these comics. Spider-Man, Thor, Iron-Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, multiple X-Men, and more. Although some have more page time than others, I think the creators did a good job giving a quick idea of who each of the heroes are in case maybe the reader doesn't know.
I would describe this collection as the comic Avengers version of Teen Titans GO. Like Teen Titans GO, which is a more light-hearted and cartoon-y version of the show Teen Titans, Mini Marvels is less deep and serious and more light and goofy. I think both (of both the Avengers & Teen Titans) versions have their time & place. I love both versions of each so much.
The art is great. I had a little bit of knowledge of Chris Giarrusso's art because of G-Man, a comic I haven't read but saw around a lot. I really like the very cartoon-y thick lines type of art style he has. I think it works well with the kind of comic strip style these comics are presented. Each of the comics, whether they were multiple pages, a full page, or just a strip, were all so entertaining and humorous. You don't need to know the backstory of all of these heroes to get the jokes but having a general idea of who they are definitely helps get the jokes more.
The only real problem I have with this collection, and honestly I think it was more of when I read it, was that it got a little repetitive. I think if these comics (the strips, single page ones especially) were distributed to me like once a day or even something I went back to every couple days I may have had more enjoyment. But because I was reading it for a read-a-thon, my enjoyment definitely decreased slightly because by the last quarter of the comics it all felt a bit same-y.
Overall, if you like marvel and/or comics in general you're probably going to like this. If you're in the mood to laugh a lot this is definitely the one to pick up. I highly recommend this collection and it's definitely one I can see myself re-reading when I am in the mood to laugh.
Consider that all the Marvel universe are kids with some of the big villains as the adults (think J.J Jameson, Galactus, Green Goblin and even Stan Lee). Now put some hilarious spin on the storylines like Galactus Arrival, finding Cap, or even the dangers of being an X-man. This is what these little storylines in this trade back are. As well as having other stupid kid silly like Professor X dressed like certain sci-fi series captain, any memory call back is done via crayon and badly drawn image and references to them being children. This was cute enough to be enjoyable and not wrapped around the axle of being totally into itself. So if you enjoy a good parody and enjoy Marvel then grab this and have a good time.
Absolutely hilarious comic of the Marvel characters as kids. Clever and silly. Eddie/Venom and Spidey on the paper route was especially fun to read, but the lampooning of the big crossover stories (Civil War, Inhumans, Hulk) that happened during its run was definitely best.

The Mini Marvels are tiny, adorable versions of all your favourite Marvel characters. This book is a collection of comics featuring stories about the Marvel gang as they combat bullies, baddies, and each other. The stories are adorable, and often feature references to some of the most well known Marvel storylines (like Civil War). With adorable art and stories this book was a must-read for me.
I absolutely loved this book. It was super adorable. The art is cute and fits the characters well. The comic is written for all ages, so the humour is wide reaching and works well for a series of comics meant to fit a wide variety. The characters are well written, making great reference to the standard versions of the characters.
The stories are all references to stuff that has happened in older comics from the characters. There's a whole plotline about Spiderman turning into Venom and then Eddie Brock becoming Venom. There's the Civil War plot called "Civil Ward". These references are really great and poke fun at the original storylines. I thought this was one of the best things about the stories, as it really carries the humour of the book and makes the book a little more accessible for adult readers.
The art and humor of this comic are really fantastic. This comic is great for Marvel fans or newbies to the universe. I highly recommend.
There's not much to review here, but this is a complete collection of every Mini-Marvels strip, no matter the length. They vary in quality, but even the worst will likely elicit a smile if not an all-out roar of laughter like some of them. These strips are painfully self-aware, parodying everything from major events to silly character tropes. Definitely worth a look, even if you're going to just pick them up every now and again to remind yourself that comics aren't always grim, gritty, and depressing.
The art is consistently great and quite cute. I really enjoyed it when the stories were spoofs of events from the "real" Marvel Universe. I was impressed that the mini-marvels were not simply duplicates of their 'adult' selves but had their own distinct personalities that stayed consistent throughout this collection - especially considering the collection is gathered from material printed over a number of years.
So funny! Great series of running gags and jokes about things within the marvel universe. I think my favourite is cap's observation that wolverine never washes his claws, and the fun poked at hawkeye, constantly, for being an outcast.
