Guinness World Records 2014 Gamer’s Edition Review

This is a great book for anyone who likes video games. Being someone who regularly plays games and owns multiple consoles, this book is great. Most of the records in this book are interesting and impressive. Some of the games featured in this book are boring to me but the book is divided into sections so I can read about games I like. The book isn’t just records though. There are also special features that just have interesting or helpful gaming information. Marathoning games, creating games, and games based on movies are some of the 16 features. This is a great book for gamers and non gamers and I learned about some new games. I give this 5/5 stars.

It is a decent book about records of video games with a lot of numbers everywhere you look.
The reason I gave this book only 3 stars is that a lot of things are not accurate. I mean if you are writing a book which should represent records at least try to get a little information about the game. Please explore it more than five minutes, because I found a lot of mistakes and that is really sad. As "professional" writers in area of tech/gaming world, you did that.

Second what bothered me is that categories are not well balanced. MMORPG section got like 4-6 pages barely, which is more important than some dancing game or karaoke which had around 10 pages material.

If you are new into video gaming this is a great book for you, otherwise you can skip it if you are nerd/g33k like me. Because 90% of things you will already know and you will find this book a little boring.

I think people should read the Guinness Book of World Records 2014 Gamer’s Edition. It was a good book with lots of fun and interesting information. I also thought there was a hidden message behind the whole book even though it just seemed like a normal records book. The hidden message was that anyone can accomplish anything. All these records were achieved by someone random that had a desire to do something and be acknowledged. They all tried their hardest and succeeded by being in this book. These series are for entertainment and encouragement because they always tell the reader they can send in their own guinness record to try to get in the next book.
