Incredible! Darlene L Turner has done it again. This suspenseful page-turner held me captive until the end. The non-stop action and unexpected twists were 'expected' as that’s Turner’s style, and she didn’t fail to deliver—another successful book from a gifted author. Park Warden Hazel Hoyt faces the horror no parent should face—the abduction of her son and his friends while on a camping trip in the Rocky Mountains. And to add more tension, an arsonist sets fires in the wilderness that slows their search. Wildfire Unit Crew leader Mitchell Booth once considered Hazel, his sister’s friend, as another sister. He finds himself in the middle of the fires working with his line crew and being tugged into the search for Hazel’s son. Working with her stirs deeper feelings, but he pushes back due to a bad relationship in his past that almost cost him his life. Would he ever reveal his secret or overcome the horrific memories holding his emotions captive? Between Hazel’s strained relationship with her Park Supervisor father and the rejection of a broken relationship, thoughts of becoming more than a sister figure to Mitchell dissipate. Now she must work closely with both men. What is God doing to her? Will she survive the raging fires, the tension stirring, and the uncertainty of her son and his friends’ welfare? Can he let go of her past and allow Mitchell to be a part of her future, if he’s even interested?

“ ‘God’s got this.’ Did He? It didn’t feel that way.”
Another great rescue story by Darlene L Turner! Why read Mountain Abduction Rescue?
First, The cover. This cover with a purple background, a pit, and a mountain lion at the mouth... Yikes!! Your heart will be beating in double time before you even start this romantic suspense book!
Secondly, Author Darlene Turner is known as “Turn a Page Turner” because of her constant, electrifying action. Terrified and helpless describes the feelings I had much of the time reading Mountain Abduction Rescue! A firebug is setting fires all over Micmore National Park, killing trees, wildlife, and people. But his sights are set on one particular, hapless family.
Thirdly, Familiar characters. With Micmore National Park (Alberta, CA) Warden Hazel Hoyt and Wildfire Unit leader Mitchell “Boomer” Booth, we have characters we have previously met, whose carefully reconstructed lives are now unraveling. While Hazel chafes under the extreme gruffness of her father-boss, Mitchell deals with the loss of family relationships and a hostile boss.
Fourthly, Familiar situation. While there may not be serial firebugs and arsonists in the northern Rocky Mountains, few Canadians or Americans are untouched by the wildfires. I find that this story actually brings hope that the courageous firefighters battling the real-life blazes will be successful!
My heart was in my mouth as I waited to see if Hazel and Mitchell would be able to rescue her 8 yr-old-boy, Jackson, and his friends. Also, so much past to overcome both in family relationships and in romantic ties. Will there be a romance for Hazel and Mitchell? Will they survive to consider it? I saw part of the ending coming, but part took me by complete surprise.
While Frank, Hazel’s father, takes pride in training her and Jackson about survival, it isn’t his stern words that help her when she is desperate. It is the soft admonition of her mother: ”Whenever your strength is gone, look to your Father. The One who holds you in the palm of His hands. He’ll provide endurance. Trust Him. Trust in yourself.” I also loved that though Mitchell seems unable to turn to God, God uses him and his late mother’s faith nuggets to build up Hazel. “When you don’t know what to say, be silent. Just be present. Listen and pray for guidance.” Indeed, God’s Word does not return void!
I received a copy of the book from the author. I also bought my own copy. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.
Notable Quotables:
“In order to move forward in life, you need to look back at your troubles and deal with them. It’s then you will find peace.”
“I’m no expert on God, but I remember my mom saying once that sometimes we may not understand His silence, but He will answer. In His timing.” “But what if I don’t like the answer?” “Then He will give you the strength to endure the storm.”
“I’ve learned throughout the storms in life that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. He’s right there with us in the thunder. We just need to look to the horizon.”
I couldn't put this book down. Started it the day after it came in the mail and read it until I finished it. The story grabs your attention very quickly and has enough twists and turns that you just have to keep reading to see who the Firebug turns out to be. Darlene Turner writes a strong story full of advetures and realistic characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hazel and Mitchell's adventures. This is a must add to your want-to-read list so grab it when it comes out. You'll enjoy it. I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is an excellent book! It's full of suspense and intrigue! I was totally surprised by who the perpetrators were!
The characters are wonderful! They are relatable and easy to like! Hazel is wonder woman! She's strong, capable, and smart! Mitchell is amazing! He's a rock; someone you can count on. The love story is sweet and romantic!
Darlene Turner is becoming one of my favorite authors!

This book was a great easy read. It kept my attention so much that I read it in one day! Another great Love Inspired Series book full of love, finding faith, forgiveness, and adventure. I highly recommend this book!
Darlene Turner’s style of writing is great from page 1 until the last page. Setting in the Rocky Mountains where Hazel Hoyt is a park warden. Hazel is needing help from her long time friend, Mitchell Booth after her son and some of his friends are missing from their camping trip. Lots of fires are blazing all around. Will Hazel and Mitchell find the boys before it is to late?
Hazel Hoyt is a park warden in the Candian Rocky Mountains. Her son, and other boys from his camping troop, have been kidnapped.
Wildfires roar around them and Hazel must rely on firefighter Mitchell Booth to help her rescue the missing boys.
Whoever has kidnapped the boys has no intention of letting Hazel & Mitchell rescue the missing boys. Firebug knocks Mitchell out and starts burying him alive. Can Hazel find him in time and save him? Will they find the missing boys?
Mountain Abduction Rescue is the newest release in the Crisis Rescue Team series by Darlene L. Turner. It is set in the Canadian Rocky Mountains with Park Ranger Hazel Hoyt and firefighter Mitchell Booth trying to find missing boys while going against an arsonist set on revenge. The suspense and storyline kept me engaged from the first page to the last page. I highly recommend this book.I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book with no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This book includes non-stop action that kept me on the edge of my seat, hoping that park warden Hazel Hoyt would find her young son alive and well and that the raging forest fire would be able to be contained. When an unknown suspect kidnaps Hazel’s son and a few other members of his scout troop, Hazel is forced to work with her former boyfriend, firefighter Michael Booth, but she is willing to do whatever it takes to save her eight year old son and his friends. With helicopter rescues, a firebug, a kidnapper and a theme of revenge, this book has everything it needs to keep my attention and make it a stunningly exciting novel. The book is a clean read, with faith interspersed throughout in the appropriate times and places. I enjoyed getting to know Michael and Hazel, both of whom were relatable and dynamic characters. Hazel’s dad Frank was also well-developed but not quite so likable since he was so controlling during most of the book. With red herrings and false trails, this book led me on a merry chase to figure out the villains before they were revealed. Lots to love about an adventure in the Canadian Rockies, a small child being courageous and a family working together to achieve a daring rescue! Disclaimer Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own. Hazel Hoyt a park warden in the Rocky mountains world is turned upside down when a serial arsonist nicknamed "Firebug" comes to her park setting forest fires. This bad guy wants revenge. When Hazel's son and his camping troop vanish it's up to Hazel and firefighter Mitchell Booth to find the children before Firebug does. This story has lots of action and suspense with twists and turns. It keeps you guessing till the end. A definite thrill ride.
I am a big fan of books by Darlene L. Turner. She has a way of bringing life to her characters that makes them really jump off the page. Hazel and Mitchell have known each other for awhile. They have not seen each other for years but now circumstances have brought them back together. This novel has so many good themes to it. It has forgiveness, return to faith in God, second chance at love, and family reunited. It is action packed from beginning to end. I highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. The opinions in this review are my own.
Once again author Darlene Turner has captivated us with this fast action suspense mystery. Up in the mountains a arsonist is threating the wildlife along with the beautiful mountains that Park warden Hazel Hoyt monitors. But when the arsonist goes and kidnaps her son's camping troop along with him. Firefighter Mitchell Booth will soon learn that the childhood girl that followed him around needs his help in locating her son. As well as those silly eyes that looked at him are the eyes that captivate his heart now. And the two together have to uncover who the arsonist is, that has made this wildfire personal.
With characters that make you double guess if they can be trusted or not, this story will have you moving through the pages faster than the fires are spreading. Detours pop left and right as some of the character's actions. Author Darlene has put together a story that will have you at the edge of your seat as you try to uncover who is behind this hide and seek game. Will their past hurts and the feelings of failure bring these two together while trying to get off the mountain before it all burns along with them?
I received an ARC copy of the book from the author, I was not asked for a positive review. All stated here are my own.
Unpredictable. Another nail biter by Darlene Turner! As Hazel and Mitchell search for missing boys they face many challenges not the least of which is past betrayals. Darlene is known as the queen of plaid and the fun references along the way add a lighthearted touch to the story. This book reminds us that no matter how intense life can get that we can handle anything with God’s help. I received an advanced copy to give an honest opinion of. I can say that all of her books are worth buying even at full cost!
WoW,captivating book full of many twists! After not seeing Mitch(he’s a firefighter) for many years,Hazel (she’s a park warden) & he are thrown back together ,when her 8 year old son & other boys from his troop are missing from a camping trip & they go out on a rescue mission. Sparks fly ,even though they’re dealing with wildfires & a killer on the loose. This book kept me guessing until the very end. Thank you Darlene Turner for this ARC,this book releases on 8-22-‘23 make sure you grab a copy, you won’t be sorry. This is my honest opinion.
I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. A serial arsonist is setting fires in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Mitchell Booth is the crew leader for the Micmore Wildlife Unit. He and his team wanted to keep the fires out of Micmore National Park. Hazel Hoyt was the Park Warden. Her son's scout unit is camping in the park. Hazel has tried to contact the leaders, but no one responded. She receives word that suspicious activity is happening in the park. Could it be the Rocky Mountain Firebug? Are the young boys okay? This book kept me on the edge of my seat.
Another unputdownable, cleverly plotted Crisis Rescue Team story packed with action and feelings! This story features an exciting, fast-paced quest through the unpredictable mountain wilderness complicated by forces of nature and man and prompting more than one perilous rescue. The search for the identity and motives of a serial arsonist bent on revenge takes many twists and kept me reading anticipatedly leading to a culprit I never suspected! I love the richly described national park setting. The characters are compelling and memorable. Valuable faith lessons and a second chance romance round out the story. I totally enjoyed this story and highly recommend it especially for fans of inspirational suspense. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Mountain Abduction Rescue is a fantastic story. There is an abduction and the reason for it is crazy! I love how the main characters Hazel and Mitchell knew each other when they were younger and work together now to save the kidnapped ones. All the while trying to stay ahead of forest fires.
This was action packed and a page turner, with an ending I didn't see coming. You don't want to miss reading this book or any of Darlene Turner’s books. She never disappoints.
Mountain Abduction Rescue by Darlene L. Turner is a wildly adventurous mystery that keeps you in suspense to the very end. I was sure I knew who the arsonist was and yet, I got it wrong. And the themes of family and forgiveness spoke to my heart. I was privileged to be a part of the launch team for this book. If you enjoy suspense, you will love this story!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher. The opinions expressed are completely my own.
The author was correct when she wrote that "readers will be captured by her plots, inspired by her strong characters and moved by her inspirational message"! The book is set in a national park in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. Hazel is a park ranger, following in her still active father's demanding footsteps. Mitchell has risen in leadership and has excellent skills in fighting forest fires. Recently "Firebug" has been setting fires and other evil acts, such as kidnapping Hazel's young son. The two join their fellow workers to keep people and the property safe. There is one dangerous fire after another, and soon "Firebug" is set on killing certain people, like Hazel. Be prepared for an exciting time reading and watching faith be renewed! I appreciate being able to read this book, compliments of the publisher. My thoughts are my own.
You will love this book So many twists and turns. Kidnappings, murders, love, fires. Keeps you wondering what will happen Next. And will after 10 years will Mitchell & Hazel.
Mountain Abduction Rescue is a very well written romantic suspense. I loved the plot, characters and the national park setting. I definitely recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC. This is my unbiased review.

Once again, Darlene doesn't disappoint with this 3rd book in the Crisis Rescue Team called Mountain Abduction Rescue. In this edge of your seat suspense you meet Park Warden Hazel Hoyt whose son and his camping troop are kidnapped by a serial arsonist who's out for revenge in the Canadian Rocky Mountain. Hazel teams up with firefighter Mitchell Booth to find the missing boys as the wildfires blaze all around them. Someone has no intention of letting either of them get off the mountain alive.
