There are two reasons I picked this one as my next read. I loved reading a book of the same name by Carol Ericson in the Intrigue imprint and the Harlequin cover girl in this Desire imprint reminded me of a Ukrainian actress Ekaterina Tyshkevich whose acting in the Ukrainian show Snowdrop I absolutely adored.

This is the first book that I'm reading by Paula Roe. It all starts in Queensland when Matthew Cooper is attending a wedding of the clients of his sister Paige's, who is a jewellery designer. Where the latter points out a redhead bridesmaid who seems to be interested in him. Matt is a thirty-six-year-old successful businessman/doctor. And the redhead is Angelina Jayne Reynolds. Thirty-two-year-old Angel is an artist who is there for her younger sister, Emily's wedding to Zac Prescott (from Promoted to Wife?).

Angel has just started doing the rounds of a fertility clinic, as after her operation to remove ovarian cysts she has received the news that her chances of conceiving are down to thirty per cent. The title of the story perfectly summarises the plot. After failing to find a donor and refusing to wait any further, she plots for Matt's help.

British by birth Matt couldn't believe how much the bright and peppy redhead Angel had changed over the years since they last had a fling nine years ago. When Matt unceremoniously dumped her. He was no less than royalty while she was from a sketchy background. I loved the side of Matt that the author displayed when he went to the hospital where he previously worked.

This story had some glaring inconsistencies. Like it's mentioned they meet after ten years but Angel aged from twenty-three to thirty-two. And Matt has been mentioned to be a heart surgeon at one place and a neurosurgeon in other places. The snippets of AJ and Emily's young life tore through my heart.

I loved how AJ holds her own and Matt couldn't help but be impressed by her honesty. This second chance story had an easy banter which was so beautiful to witness. And so was the delving into wonderful memories of theirs. There is so much sadness in both their pasts. But the ending seemed to rush on in the last chapter, with the epilogue not providing that much of a closure. It was all so hurried.

P.S. There was no magical pregnancy.

This is a great story about past lovers getting back together for a reason. AJ has had a tough life and lived it fast for a long time until she fell for Dr Matthew Cooper but he dropped her when she was fianlly ready to settle down then years later they run into each other but things have changed for Matthew as well and when AJ asks him to help out with her wanting to have a baby Matthew agrees and goes all out to seduce AJ. This one is emotional heartwarming and very sensual loved it and highly recommend it.

Matthew and Aj had a very sexual fling along time ago. After a surprise meeting at Aj's sisters wedding. It puts an idea in her head. Aj wants a baby, she thinks Matthew is the perfect candidate.
A workaholic who wont want anything to do with the baby. She is wrong, Matthew wants more, he wants Aj. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Will they finally start communicating and find a happy ending?

I've not read any other PR so this is my first. I really enjoyed the characters. I love the whole storyline that AJ and matt are old flames that both have regrets. I love how they work through pregnancy issue but both don't really invest or confess their feeling fully.
Really liked sister may read her story next. Great HEA and epilogue was great.

"Roe's newest has an interesting lead-in, and the hero's part-bohemian look and lifestyle are a nice change of pace from the traditional hero. This is a story with a little bit of heartbreak and a lot of heart." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 stars

Ten years ago Matt and AJ were in the midst of a hot and heavy affair. They had started out wanting no commitments. AJ's feelings started to change and she was about to tell him so when he abruptly broke things off. When they meet again, Matt wants AJ in his bed again. AJ doesn't want to risk her heart again, but she does want a baby. All they have to do is find a way to make both of them happy.

When AJ sees Matt again she doesn't want anything to do with him. She remembers the work-obsessed doctor who put everything else ahead of what they could have had together. The attraction is still there, but she won't risk her heart again. Then she gets some health news that puts a rush on her desire to have a baby of her own. When an artificial insemination appointment falls through and a new one isn't available for six months, she settles on Plan B. Matt had made no secret of the fact that he wanted her in his bed again. She went to him and agreed, as long as she got a baby out of the deal. I really liked AJ's determination to go after what she wants. What she doesn't expect is to see major changes in him from the Matt she used to know. His ability to see past her own issues to the woman underneath causes her any number of worries. She finds herself opening up about her own troubled past and telling him things she'd never told anyone else. Her intent to keep her heart safe is slowly being eroded under his attentions. AJ starts dreaming about what it would be like to have something permanent with Matt, but doesn't think it's possible for her with the background she has. She still doesn't think that she is good enough for him and that he wouldn't want her for anything long term. I liked the growing up she has done since she was with him the last time. She has more confidence than she did before, which shows in the ladies' room scene with his ex-wife. I also loved the scene with her parents.

When Matt saw AJ again he couldn't believe how much he still wanted her. She walked out on him when he tried to get her to sleep with him and he figured she was still angry over their breakup. When she came to him later with her proposition about giving her a baby, this time he was the one who was angry. He had divorced his wife over the fact that she didn't want children, and now AJ wants him to give her a baby and then walk away. He then decides to go along with her but also try to get her to fall for him so that he can keep her and a potential child in his life. I really enjoyed seeing him do everything he could to woo her. Everything he did showed just how well he knew her and what she would like. He didn't expect their time together to have such a strong effect on him. Thoughts of her kept creeping into his daily life even when he was working. I really liked the changes he had made in his life and the effect those changes had on AJ. I loved the way he tried to be there for her and support her in whatever she needed. He was falling for her and fighting it all the way because he didn't want to risk his heart either. I really liked the way that he went to her at the end.

Ten years ago, AJ, who had plenty of emotional baggage already, was about to take an emotional risk with love for the first time. Unfortunately, that was the same night that wealthy and ambitious doctor, Matt Cooper decided to dump her. So when they meet up again, the chemistry is still there but AJ is still pretty pissed. She's having a tough time anyway because her biological clock is ticking, she's set up for IVF treatments and her donor has just backed out. So she asks Matt, who by this time has re-evaluated his feelings and wants AJ back in his bed, maybe more. But AJ is not about to risk her heart again.

I honestly like that AJ did not melt into a puddle of lustful goo at her first sight of Matt. I LOVE that she said absolutely no and stuck to her guns about seeing him again, no matter how attracted she was. She was not a doormat. And how in sticking to her word and keeping her distance, she realizes how much she loves Matt and wants to be close to him. The two characters ended up really getting to know each other as opposed to the "I'll-make-you-love-me-through-sex" plots. That being said, this got kind of long and draggy at points and the heroine, who is undergoing hormonal treatments in an attempt to get pregnant is rather overly emotional and irrational at times. She was like a pendulum with her feelings and her insecurities about her past really annoyed at times.

Interesting enough premise but there wasn't enough detail to really draw you into the story and both AJ and Matthew were so back-and-forth on their feelings for each other it was super annoying. Glad they got their HEA at least!

Absolutely loved these characters, and the saucy lovin between them. Great flip on the familiar marriage of convenience trope, with an adorably vulnerable alpha. *happy sighs*
