I remember Nick Butler and Rachel Simon from Laura Scott's previous books, and I'm glad they got their own story in HER MISTLETOE PROTECTOR.
When Rachel's son Joey is kidnapped, she'll do anything to bring him back. Selling all shares of her company to raise the ransom of one million dollars seems a small price to pay for her little boy's life. But she knows she needs Detective Butler's help for Joey to return home safe and sound, as well as to catch the villain. After losing his own family, Nick will put his life on the line for Rachel and Joey. But once hurt, will he risk his heart again?
Dangers are abound, making HER MISTLETOE PROTECTOR a fast read. But it is also a heart-warming holiday story about the great power of faith and the redeeming power of love. It is wonderful to see how Rachel finds faith and decides to teach her little boy to become a believer as well. And I enjoyed reading how after living through a horrible tragedy Nick gets his second chance at love and family.
