Beware of Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing!

When Max Harmon took the detective job in Rohm, he figured it was a nice little all-American town and a great place to spend his days until retirement.

Boy, was he wrong!

When a hitman comes to Rohm and assumes the role of the parish priest, something just doesn’t seem right.

When everything you do is an uphill battle, sometimes the wise person reaches a point where enough is enough. As Max stands at a crossroads, he is faced with the daunting task of deciding to stay with the friends and colleagues he has taken him in, and face the continued Good Old Boy network, or count his blessings and losses and head back to Florida.

Let Max take you to The Church of Rohm and find a killer standing on the altar!

About the author

Micheal Maxwell

63 books76 followers
Micheal Maxwell has traveled the globe on the lookout for strange sights, sounds, and people. His adventures have taken him from the Jungles of Ecuador and the Philippines to the top of the Eiffel Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge, and from the cave dwellings of Native Americans to The Kehlsteinhaus, Hitler’s Eagles Nest! He’s always looking for a story to tell and interesting people to meet.

Micheal Maxwell was taught the beauty and majesty of the English language by Bob Dylan, Robertson Davies, Charles Dickens, and Leonard Cohen.

Mr. Maxwell has traveled the globe, dined with politicians, rock stars, and beggars. He has rubbed shoulders with priests and murderers, surgeons and drug dealers, each one giving him a part of themselves that will live again in the pages of his books.

Micheal Maxwell has found a niche in the mystery, suspense, genre with The Cole Sage Series that gives readers an everyman hero, short on vices, long on compassion, and a sense of fair play, and the willingness to risk everything to right wrongs. The Cole Sage Series departs from the usual, heavily sexual, profanity-laced norm and gives readers character-driven stories, with twists, turns, and page-turning plot lines.

Micheal Maxwell writes from a life of love, music, film, and literature. Along with his lovely wife and travel partner, Janet, he lives in a small town in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

Another winner from Micheal Maxwell

Yet another good Mystery from an author that I follow. Having read all of the works by Micheal Maxwell I found it strange that there are so many errors in the book. Spelling mistakes, wrong words in sentences, characters names changing (the priest called Father Bob becomes Father Bill in one paragraph). Nevertheless a good read, I just wonder what happened to the proof reader!

We have a man who breaks into homes and distroyed light bulbs, convinced to turn him self in by a mobster posing as a priest, who sets a warehouse of dope on fire to help a parishioner. And we have a realtor than nobody likes murdered on a golf course. Life sure is interesting for a cop in a small town.

An Odd and Introspective Turn

Individuals wend strange pathways to their fates; a widow develops a crush on the new priest; a burglar terrorizes the town by breaking into stately homes, causing damage but only targeting lightbulbs; and a malicious vandalism in the widow’s post-marriage bake shop sets in motion some odd coincidences that give Max some food for serious thought.

Father Bob

Maxwell has done it again. The fake priest of The Church of Rohm is the catalyst for several crimes in the town of Rohm. Many twists and turns keep you awake looking for the solution.

I have read all 4 of these books and they are all pretty good and can stand alone. I would not recommend taking the time to read all 4. They are good for a quick mystery read.
