Illegal private detective with the alias Patrick Immelmann (P.I.) is trying to find out more about the past of a new client - a woman called Taj who wants to stay a step ahead of her new employer. Unfortunately Taj is murdered shortly after leaving P.I.'s office and returning to her apartment. Even worse, she left a note with his alias and secret password written on her palm.
Trying to stay out of trouble, P.I. is asked by the victim's sister Raveena to find the murder. She blackmails him threatening to tell the police about the alias and secret identity if he doesn't help her investigating. However, P.I. says it's not the good guys he's worried about.
Brian K. Vaughan is the writer and co-creator of comic-book series including SAGA, PAPER GIRLS, Y THE LAST MAN, RUNAWAYS, and most recently, BARRIER, a digital comic with artist Marcos Martin about immigration, available from their pay-what-you-want site www.PanelSyndicate.com
BKV's work has been recognized at the Eisner, Harvey, Hugo, Shuster, Eagle, and British Fantasy Awards. He sometimes writes for film and television in Los Angeles, where he lives with his family and their dogs Hamburger and Milkshake.
So someone killed Taj as she left PI and went to her home, with Patrick's alias on the hand. It is going on nicely. the story is cool and its fun to see the idea of privacy to be so extreme that the people don't even show their faces in public any more.
I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I Love comics to bit, may comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.
Fans of Brian K. Vaughan will love this new project. I applaud the fact that this comic is only available digitally. BKV is working with an excellent team of artists (Martin and Vicente), and together they are proving that traditional and digital comics can coexist harmoniously. The plot of PE and the inventiveness of the project I believe call for a digital medium. Others new to comics/digital comics will also dine on this well crafted vision of the future. If you choose to donate to the project you may also write a message to the creators, and they respond to some at the end of each issue. Also excellent is the number of language translations available to everyone around the world at the same time. As I am living abroad at the moment, I am so thrilled to still have access to BKV's new issues. *#&%@#! can't wait for the next issue.
The self-published, "pay-your-own-price" model is definitely interesting though the lack of an editor is apparent in the fact that there are quite a few typos.
Story and art are good and I will certainly keep reading.
