Amie loves being an author, not so much a god.

Embark on a fantastical journey with bestselling author Amie as she finds herself trapped within the very world she created. Magic was always a part of her stories, but she never imagined it could become real—until she finds herself caught in her own tale, powerless, and dubbed the Goddess of Fate.

In a land brimming with magic, danger, and unexpected allies, Amie faces challenges beyond her imagination. With a demon-possessed king, whose cruelty and cunning are as legendary as his power, threatening her every move and warring courts vying for power, she must navigate a treacherous path. Amidst the chaos, she uncovers shocking truths and unexpected alliances, including one with the demon she once only dreamed of.

As she races against time to craft the perfect ending for her story, Amie grapples with questions of justice, morality, and the limits of her influence. With twists and turns at every corner, readers will be on the edge of their seats, eager to uncover the fate of both Amie and her fictional world. Can she find a way to shape her destiny without the magic everyone assumes she possesses? And will she ever liberate herself from the shackles of her imagination?

In a world where the language of gods is wielded as words of power by Word Binders, individuals gifted with the ability to manipulate reality through spoken words, and where the dreaming world is just as vivid as the waking one, Amie's journey promises to captivate readers with its blend of magic, adventure, and unexpected twists.

I am blown away by this read! The concept of this book is something I know we have all thought about. Not only as an author but readers as well. Always putting ourselves in the story. This shows the good and the bad of that type of thinking. Even though we want to put ourselves in a different world there is always going to be sadness, trauma, etc. Really gives you perspective on how much you should really appreciate the live you’re given.
I started this book not knowing how anything would play out and it did not disappoint. I went through this journey with our main character. It honestly felt as real as standing next to her. The way it was written brought so much reality into it. There are other stories where things are left to the imagination as a reader, but in this book everything is laid out for you. The things your wondering is the exact same things Amie was as well. It was like we were figuring it out together. A majority of this story was spent in her own internal monologue and it was as though she were speaking to me. It was amazing!
I loved our main character. She was so realistic in not only her actions but also the way she thought. I also loved the fact that she fell for the villain…much like we all do. I also love the idea of that gray line of not everyone is who you think they are. Sometimes the one you think is good, is the real demon.
I loved this story, especially the way it was written. I cannot wait to see where the next book in this stand-alone series brings us next time! I do know I’ll definitely need to buckle up for the ride!

I love the story of Amie! An inside look of the mind of a writer 🖤

Quite literally with the last statement, I love how the writer got dragged into her own fantasy story. This can quite be compared to life in general.

Hear me out, I was rooting for Amie to just stay in it and enjoy it ... and I am happy that it sort of played out that way in the ending.

Vorixen and Amie 🤌🏽 You just have to read to understand ✨️

I commend Amie for showing us a true life lesson ... you do not like the way your story is going? Change it. Make the moves to write a happier ending for yourself.

Pages of Fate is a portal fantasy with an enemies to friends romance. The main character in the book is Amie Marguerite Elizabeth Winston. Amie is a published author, as well as the owner of Ends & Beginnings, a bookstore. Amie is about to start work on the last book in her Word Binders series, but she's not feeling confident about her planned plot. Something is holding her back. After her best friend and colleague, Jennifer Forester, suggests she takes a walk to reconnect with her characters, she feels more confident about her plan. She heads home and starts typing away, only to find herself portaled into her own story.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved this book. It didn't take long for me to be pulled into the story and completely invested in the plot. While having the character write their own story isn't a new concept, the way the author wrote the book is such that she is aware of being inside the story but no longer has control over said story. Something about it gave me NeverEnding Story vibes.

Amie was pulled into the final Word Binder book as the Goddess of Fate, which is rather on point considering the author determines her characters' fate. At the same time she knows she's just Amie, and needs to figure out a way home. Amie finds herself in the Palace of Etruaca, brought there by Laeroth, her villain. Laeroth is possessed by a demon; during daylight hours Laeroth rules as the Sunlight King, while at night, the demon comes out and rules as the Starlight King. They share a body but are two completely different entities. It is very Jekyl and Hyde.

Laeroth is angry at Amie and blames her for his character as well as her plans for his demise.

"Was it I who meant to be born to a witch of a mother hell-bent on dominating all of Askana? Was it I who forced a demon possession on myself? A demon who, even now, sleeps inside my core to take over my body from sundown to sunrise?"

"I will not stand by while Fate plans my demise. Mark my words. I will turn into the master of the world to come, even if that means capturing a god..."

Once he has his hands on her, he intends to make her pay. He wants to assume control of the narrative, and make Amie suffer mentally and physically. He is a definitely a villain.

In a turn of events, Amie finds herself falling for the Starlight King, ie the demon. Now not only does she need to find a way home, but she is questioning the plan to have Laeroth's character killed.

Have I mentioned how much I loved this book? I want everyone to read it and love it as much as I did. The writing seemed to flow effortlessly, guiding me on the twists and turns of the story. The book is filled with delightful metaphors and similes, and so many wonderful, and often humorous, lines. I (electronically) highlighted my ebook so many times with sentences that made me laugh, or ones that resonated! Here are a few of my favourites:

Creativity could be a tricky lover. It enjoyed attention like a pampered cat... Magic was found in those blissful moments when creativity purred, curled up on your chest, and the words opened up, spilling seamlessly onto the page... if you were too aggressive with creativity, too demanding of its love, you'd get scratched before the blasted thing ran under the bed and hid.

She could not be here, and yet she was. Was it all in her head, or had magic been true this whole time? Was every world she'd ever written a genuine place? Were authors somehow able to tap into universes? Was her life absolute, or was there some poor unsuspecting being thinking her up right now?

"Can you speak without flirting for five minutes?" she snapped, doing her best to hide her smile.
"I don't know. I've never tried."

"All my books have a happy ending," she said.
"But for whom?" he asked.

"Stop being encouraging. It's ruining my melancholy."

The story rubbed against the inside of her head like a needy cat.

I hope you pick up a copy and support this author's debut. While this is a standalone story, it is my understanding that there are plans for it to be the first in a series where the main character is transported into their favorite book. I can't wait!

Wonderful book! As a writer, it hit a special spot in my heart like a love letter to what it's like creating the characters and the stories. Sometimes, the characters you create take your story and run with it. The characters were so delightful that they felt like friends. And a fantastic new world to explore. And the story, well... blink...blush...sigh... really pulled me in.

Arc review-this book was a bit hard to get through for me however is it still a good book. This book is about an author that gets sucked into her own story so to speak and ends up finding out who she really is! I have enjoyed this book and what was hard for me was the multiple change of scenes in the story. This is the first book that has had that and I was a bit lost in the beginning but my brain finally caught up! I would recommend this book to anyone into fantasy.

This book follows what happens when a writer ends up a character in her own story. The twists and turns of this book leaving you wanting to keep reading to find out what happens next. A really interesting take.

Wow! I’m in love with this story. Even reading the blurb and knowing what the stories about I still had to put it down in shock when Amie got pulled into the story. I too have a love for the villain.

Pages of Fate read like a love letter to authors, their characters, their struggles and the entire creative process. Intermixed with a captivating adventure the glimpses into the psyche of an author was pure magic.

Just as Amie found herself pulled into her story, it is impossible to refuse its siren call. Watching as she navigates a world she had thought and therefore treated as pure fiction from the eyes of not only an author but an MC was enthralling. You find yourself feeling for the characters genuinely. You can sympathize with Amie's difficult position of trying to figure out what the right ending is for the story when considering it from an entirely new perspective. And it's impossible not to fall for the Demon. After all, who among us DOESN'T have a thing for the "villain".

Even the true villain does not allow you to escape without empathizing with his position. The emotion and thought that was given to Pages of Fate is nothing short of the most sincere form of love. This is most definitely a book I will be revisiting.

Okay, so this book had a really unique premise, and so I had high hopes for it. Let’s just say that “Pages of Fate” definitely lived up to my expectations!!! Amie is an author who is struggling as she tries to figure out how to end a series, but the last thing she expected was to be transported into her own story - as the Goddess Fate. I thought this book was super well written, the plot was original and the story had twists and turns I wasn’t expecting! Amie was fierce and brave, and no spoilers, but I absolutely adored her love interest!!! These characters had me captivated from the very beginning, and I can honestly say this was a truly enjoyable read. I would definitely reread this book, and I will be looking into future works by L.E. Srofe!

I don’t even know where to start. I love going into a book mostly blind. And I’m so glad I did with this story. It’s amazing!

It pulls you in and flips your world upside down. And talk about keeping you on your toes! Wow.

I love the complexities in this book. The world building and character development. How even when you think you know where the story is headed you’re never really sure.

I don’t want to say anything more. Because I wouldn’t want to spoil even a small part for you. But know there is adventure and intrigue and love. All the makings of a wonderful book.

I’m hooked! I would 100% recommend this book. I received an ARC for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Not that i need to compare nearly every read to a previous read, but of all the "main chatacter getting yanked into a novel" plotlines I've read, i think this is my new favorite.
The tension was amazing as the story unfolded.
Sometimes a read hits you in the gut just at the right time. I'm struggling to find myself at the moment and reading along with Amie as she found herself, in a world she created, spoke to me. You write your own story, so change the plot if you need to.

"There were moments during her writing when Make truly believed she was working with a force outside her understanding. Where the words seemed to pour before her on the screen at such lightning ease. Amie swore the story wanted to be told just as desperately as she wanted to drive it."

Pages of Fate is a delightfully dark and sweetly romantic book about an author who is drawn into and trapped by her own story. The writing is lush and gorgeous, and the characters really come alive.

Great read!

Author Amie is trying to find inspiration for her final book. So she takes a walk on her friend suggest and she gets ideas. She starts writing and founds herself in her story. But making it through the story is not an easy affair. She will fall for the unexpected and gets thrown for many twist as she make her way to the end. This is definitely an unique way to tell this wonderful story.

Inkheart walked so Pages of Fate could run. Enjoyed the world that I was immersed in but found the main character a bit annoying. By the end I was less annoyed and found this a good read and am happy to have in my collection. Could see other ways that L.E. Sore could continue on and make this a series.

This book was such a fun read. It easily sucks you into this world that all of us would gladly go live in. Each chapter left you hungry for the next, making this a book that’s very quickly devoured. The characters were well written and the plot was engaging. Highly recommend for any fantasy lover.

Slow burn romance, portal, fantasy collide so well in this book. I LOVE the concept of getting swept up into the story. The author hit it out of the park, every page truly immerses you into the story as if you are there too.
