Read for a month-long German class. I can't believe it only took a month to get this book, and I kind of can't believe that I can technically "read German" now. I think this book prepares the student very well for reading academic German, although the example sentences are rather biased toward political and economic writings. Honestly, any gripes I have with the book are gripes I have with the idea of "for reading" courses in modern languages. I wish I could learn to speak German! But ah well, no time in the PhD...
