Hudson Island #2

Shattered Illusions

Rate this book
They’re best friends turned bitter enemies. Forced to live together, they call a truce and sparks ignite. But someone is watching. Someone who’ll do anything to destroy her…

Roxie Jameson is often called a workaholic. She prefers to call herself driven. As the owner of Comfort Food, a café and catering company on Hudson Island, she embraces the constant hustle of entrepreneurial life. Especially since her jam-packed to-do list gives her zero time to dwell on how tired and lonely she is. But when her archnemesis—and former best friend—returns to the island, Roxie’s structured schedule gets thrown off course.

Joe Buchanan has resigned from the FBI and returns home to Hudson Island without a plan. He’s at a crossroads both professionally and personally. However, before he can determine his next move, he must fix the friendship with Roxie that he so callously destroyed three years ago—and acknowledge his long-denied feelings for her.

While Roxie and Joe learn to forgive their past mistakes, they find themselves increasingly and irresistibly drawn together. But when a mysterious threat emerges, will their fragile relationship endure? And will they find a way to trust each other before it's too late?

I thoroughly enjoyed Shattered Illusions, an incredible romantic thriller by Christina Sol, the second book in her Hudson Island series. Who does not love a forced proximity romantic thriller with a happily ever after ending? It was an incredible story and I loved reading every moment on every page and it was impossible to put it down. Christina Sol provided her readers with the amazing characters that I loved, who feel like close friends! Her characters in Shattered Illusions are so believable and charming, they share great chemistry, lots of laughs, and steamy romance. I love how she developed the story line and the characters. Christina Sol is a wonderful storyteller and is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I love that she wrote Shattered Illusions from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Shattered Illusions is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. Shattered Illusions is filled with all those things that I have come to love in a romantic thriller love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Shattered Illusions is the story of former best friends Roxanne “Roxie” Jameson, owner of Comfort Foods, and former FBI agent, Joseph “Joe” Buchanan. Roxie and Joe both grew up on Hudson Island and were childhood best friends, until something happened between them three years. Roxie does not know what happened between them, but Joe has treated her with such animosity since then. Joe returns to Hudson Island following his resignation from the FBI without letting anyone know about this life change. He arrives at his childhood home and not knowing that Roxie lives there treats her as an intruder. I love the reactions of both Quinn and Joe’s Dad when they see what Joe inadvertently did to Roxie. As Joe and Roxie spend time together things begin to change between them. I love the chemistry between Roxie and Joe, how the sparks fly when they are near one another and that it was more than chemistry, it was love. As Joe and Roxie continue to spend time together, they each realize that they have feelings for one another, and things heat up between them. Mysterious events are occurring regarding Roxie and Comfort Foods and an attempt was made on her life. I love everything that Joe does for Roxie. I love that Joe shares the misunderstanding behind why he has been trying Roxie so poorly. I love how Joe always calls her Roxanne and is the only one who does. I love Joe and Roxie’s love story, and how Roxie shows her vulnerable side to Joe. Then an unexpected plot twist changes things between them, putting Roxie’s life in danger. I love how the plot twist shows Roxie’s vulnerable side, and all that Joe is willing to do for Roxie to prove his love and that he will keep her safe. I was so surprised to discover who was behind the mysterious events. I love all the changes that both Roxie and Joe are willing to make in their lives because of their love for one another. My favorite part of the story was Joe’s proposal to Roxie and that he told her that he has loved her since he was eight years old. I loved the epilogue and how it went above and beyond a happily ever after. I love the characters in Shattered Illusions, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Roxie, Joe, Quinn, Alex, and their friends, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved being introduced to more of Joe’s friends. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? Shattered Illusions is filled with all those things that I love in a romantic thriller, incredible characters, amazing story, poignant and bittersweet moments, and surprise plot twists. Christina Sol did not disappoint in her delivery of those things. I love how she resolved the surprise plot twist; it was truly a heartwarming moment. Looking forward to reading the next book in the Hudson Island series. Shattered Illusions was an amazing story and I highly recommend it if you love a romantic thriller. I received an advanced copy from the author.

I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were interesting and relatable. The beginning was quite dramatic and I was pretty much hooked straight away. I found it slowed a tad but then the pace picked up and even though I had to put it down, I didn’t want to!

Both lead characters, Roxie and Joe, were longtime friends from their childhood but through a falling out their friendship had suffered dreadfully. With Joe’s return to the island it was inevitable they would see each other; however, living together wasn’t on their radar until it suddenly happened. Learning to get along was incredibly difficult for both of them but also quite humorous at times for readers with their banter, as well as their sarcastic wit.

Roxie is one strong, determined woman who’s fiercely independent. Her cafe is a roaring success because of her dedication and hard work—oh, and her fantastic baking and cooking skills, too. Honestly, I found Roxie to be her own worst enemy at times when she over thought things and questioned nearly everything. This showed that even though she was a tower of strength, she still had quite a few vulnerabilities—one being secretly in love with Joe for years.

Joe, was and probably always will be, a charmer, so it was natural for Roxie to be a bit wary of him after so many years of fighting. He certainly had a few issues to deal with himself but his actions proved to be his downfall at times. He’d felt a lot for Roxie since they were teenagers so discovering an unpleasant side of her was repugnant to him.

The suspense element in the story was a gradual buildup where more things happened that became bolder and more violent. I will admit, the perpetrator was someone on my list (I had a couple on it 🤣) and for the reasons I thought… well mostly. It was still a sensational part of the story and cleverly plotted.

This best friends to enemies to potential lovers story was very entertaining with a great romance and a puzzling mystery. I totally recommend it to everyone.

The book and everything right, starting from the tropes to the settings and it was going on good until the last half happened. Joe was an asshole but he was atleast honest about it and I liked that he owned up to his mistakes and wanted to make it right between him & Roxie. But the insults he hurled upon her were quite demeaning and I just couldn't buy how he did not have even an ounce of trust in Roxie whom he has known his entire life and believed a complete stranger over her. I did not like how Roxie just forgave him after one small apology and I felt like he should've grovelled a bit more. Roxie on the other hand, was sweet, sassy and independent but she sure as hell wasn't smart and had zero fucking sense of self preservation. She acted so stupid and also why were the sheriff and his team in this book so fucking dumb. Like they knew that she has a stalker and instead of having proper cameras and trackers installed around her, they let her continue living her life like she wasn't constantly at risk. I found that so hard to believe and the entire situation was just so absurd. Don't get me wrong, I sure as hell enjoyed reading the book but the plot was downright nonsensical, if only Roxie & Joe communicated better and there were no silly misunderstandings between them, I would've loved the book but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

I love friends to enemies to lovers and with Shattered Illusions I got my fill. The author gave me a wonderful story with great characters, romance and some suspense all set in Hudson Island where everybody knows everybody and are all mingling in to help people get their happy endings.

Roxie and Joe grew up together, they used to be best friends and were always into shenanigans with the third part of their friend group Quinn. Due to a fallout a few years ago, without really knowing why, Roxie was left totally clueless with the result of Joe and her becoming enemies. Thus leaving Roxie who's always had a secret crush on Joe, utterly devastated and angry. She's the owner of Comford Food, a bakery and catering company that is super succesful. She's constantly working to forget how badly she was hurt by Joe. And even though she's got some great friends, she feels lonely and misses Joe immensely.

Joe is unexpectedly returning to Hudson Island after resigning from the FBI and is surprised to find Roxie living in his childhood home. He accidentally attacks her which leads to even more animosity between them. When the thruth comes to light as to why they had their fallout, Joe vows to do everything he can to make it up to Roxie.

Spending time together and strange things starting to happen to Roxie brings back up all the feelings they have for each other. Trusting eachother again isn't easy but it was lovely to see how much effort Joe put in being there for Roxie. At least after some interfering and help from Quinn and Alex.

The suspense part in the book was very well done even though I knew pretty early who the bad person was.

This was another great story, I loved the romance, the suspense, the banter and medling from their friends and townspeople. I can't wait to read the next book which will be Poppy and Cade's story.

Best friends to enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and book 2 of Christina Sol's Hudson Island series is a hit. The characters are genuine, the plot is gripping, and the romantic tension is off the charts.

The story follows Joe and Roxie, two childhood best friends who became enemies due to a misunderstanding. Joe has just resigned from his post in the FBI and returned to his hometown, not knowing that Roxie has taken up residence in his home. Roxie is busy running her new bakery and catering business and has no time for Joe's snide remarks. When the truth about their falling out is uncovered, Joe vows to make it up to Roxie, but is it too late?

Despite some idiotic blunders, Joe proves himself to be a true hero by going into protector mode when Roxie starts receiving strange photos and threats. As their relationship develops into something more than just friends, readers are left wondering who is behind the threats and how their story will unfold.

One of the things that sets this book apart is the depth of the characters. Roxie and Joe are flawed, but they're also relatable and easy to root for. Their friend Quinn and his wife Alex provide much-needed voices of reason, while Joe's sweet dad's reaction to their relationship is a heartwarming addition to the story.

This book has it all - humor, angst, suspense, and romance. It's no wonder readers are eagerly anticipating the rest of the series. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a captivating read that will leave you wanting more.

Thank you to Ms. Sol for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Best friends from childhood, Joe and Roxie have a major fallout and turn bitter enemies due to impulsiveness and misunderstandings. For three years that one night haunts them both and they remain at odds – confrontational, bitter, angry, hurt, and disappointed in each other’s actions and words. They miss their friendship and closeness but don’t know how to get back to where they were. When Joe returns home for good, a shocking turn of events puts him and Roxie in close proximity and forces them to deal with their issues, and sparks definitely fly. Animosity, jealousy, and longing have them facing hard truths and chemistry ignites forcing them to deal with their feelings and deepest desires. Despite the conflict and rift between them, Joe steps up and gets uber-protective of Roxie when danger has her in its sights. Twists and turns reveal a shocking betrayal and a threat that no one saw coming. Friends rally and bonds deepen as the truth comes to light and Joe and Roxie get the HEA they didn’t know they were waiting for.

Best friends to enemies to lovers, suspense, angst, and danger, with humor, good friends, romance, and sexy times. This was a fast-paced, enjoyable read that’s a great addition to the series. The characters were great and the storyline was engrossing. I loved revisiting with Alex and Quinn and Joe's dad was awesome. Glad the three musketeers made it back together! Looking forward to the next story in the series.

I received an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

This is book two in the Hudson Island Series of interconnected standalones. I haven't read book one but will definitely find time to check it out. Best friends to enemies to lover, with a slow growing suspense is just what the doctor ordered.

As Joe returns home after leaving his job as an FBI Agent, he has lots to sort out but the first thing on his agenda is his friendship with Roxie. It is kind of hard to hate and be in love with the woman at the same time, those feelings keep crossing over and causing whiplash for everyone near. When truths come out, he realizes that his past lead him to conclusions without asking questions.

Roxie is a strong independant woman who has a wonderful cafe and catering business that is thriving in their little town. Rest and relaxation are things that she doesn't do well and it's starting to be noticed by her friends. She misses the closeness she once had with Joe but holds on strong to Quinn and now Alex as a lifeline when things get hard.

As it becomes clear that Roxie has a stalker, Joe jumps into defensive mode. Will this new closeness be what they need to push them past the last few years of being in enemy territory with each other. As feeling are let out of the bag, things change quickly but will Joe be able to keep himself out of the dog house? Could this be the beginning of the rest of their lives on Hudson Island?

An emotional read with some ups and downs and many twists and turns.

Right from the first page to the last, the characters and storyline held me captive. Best friends, then enemies, Roxie and Joe are struggling in their personal and professional lives. She is the owner of a cafe and catering company and has little time for anything outside of work, let alone a romantic relationship. She has learned to hide her loneliness well. With Joe returning to the island after years away as he pursued his career with the FBI, chaos ensues. She is living in his family home now, and no one knew he was coming home or that he had quit his job with the FBI. Their first encounter is messy to say the least with plenty of tension and antagonism. She has no idea that Joe still has feelings for her and wants nothing more than to repair their relationship. That is something that won’t happen over night after everything that happened between them in the last few years.

When Roxie starts getting strange photos and threats, Joe goes into protector mode. Will she allow him to protect her? Can she lower the guards around her heart and let go of the past and accept him back into her life and her heart? Someone seems determined to make life difficult for Roxie. How will their story unfold?

I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Back to Hudson Island for romance, suspense and heartwarming friendships! This one is a good friends to enemies to friends to lovers at last! I enjoyed it, though the crime aspect was a bit underwhelming!

Roxanne is my favourite character of this series so far! A workaholic woman, compassionate and a people pleaser! I like her a lot, especially how she handle most of her problems! She and Joe were best friends but then one day out of nowhere he start hating her, with absolutely no explanation! So when he got back to town and they were forced to live together, she figures out why he hated her and they learn to be friends again, but that's not enough. For both of them!

Joe Buchanan, used to be an FBI agent, anger issues, very stupid when it comes to showing his emotions! I don't like him much, yeah he is good and the reason he hated her for was kind of valid? But he is the worst person at communication i ever read about!! Anyway, I like the way he touches her though, there spicy scenes were really good!

Rox was getting some weird pictures from a stalker, and that was messing with her head, i have to admit, i didn't predict who the perp would be, but i enjoyed the reveal!

Favourite scene is when Doc saw Joe and Rox together at the house! That was so cute and awkward!

Note to self: Quinn O'Connor is still ny favourite man!

So so good! I couldn’t put it down and I’ve been waiting patiently for this one!! I knew there would be a big story with these two and I am so excited I got it! This author is so amazingly talented and I loved reading this book!

Roxie has always been this spitfire of a woman! I couldn’t wait to read her story when I read book one! I knew she would have so much story to tell! The huge thing with her and Joe was crazy and a big epic! I am so shocked and saddened by why their friendship has been affected for so long!! She is quite the stubborn woman at times though and I wanted to smack her in the face at her ability to not be vigilant about her safety!

I knew things with Joe would be different and I had a bad feeling I wouldn’t like him for some of the book and yes all of those emotions happened. His dumb self made such bad decisions and he deserves so many punches to the stomach! I understand some of the things he did but man, don’t be a typical dude.

I loved every moment though. Each moment led to another moment that needed to happen and then the next. These two have so much history and I worried for what would and could tear them apart!! Such a perfect ending too!!! Great writing!!

Thank you to Christina Sol and Grey's Promotions for providing me a copy of this book for review.

This is the second book in a series of inter-connected standalone, romantic suspense novels. And while I don't think you NEED to read the first book to enjoy this one, it certainly would provide some necessary background to the story.

One of the things that I just wasn't buying throughout this book is the friendship, and subsequent romantic relationship, between Joe and Roxie. I'm all for friends, turned enemies, turned friends, turned lovers, but based on what we were told of their friendship, I:

1) found it hard to believe Joe would just throw away decades of friendship without talking to Roxie about it first
2) couldn't believe they were able to overcome the 3-years worth of animosity between them so quickly

The lack of communication between the two leads made it fairly hard to root for them - they were in their thirties, but were fighting and f*cking like they were 19, without having an honest conversation about their feelings.

I didn't DISLIKE this book, but I don't know that I'll be going out of my way to read the rest in the series.

What a great book! Shattered Illusions had me flipping pages as quickly as I could to figure out what was happening next. Roxie works hard and these past 8 months, has worked nonstop with her restaurant that she owns and the catering business she has on the side. Her best friends are worried about her and when Joe comes home, they find it is time to work through whatever ill-will is between them for the sake of everyone around them. The problem is, someone has set their eyes on the small business owner. We are gifted with witnessing the people that she holds the closest to her try everything they can to protect her and make her slow down. I appreciate Joe for who he is, a flawed person that is quick to act and think later. He has only truly had eyes for his best friend but one thing clouds his judgment and he takes his anger out on her. Roxie has gone through so much and yet things continue to not slow down. She is doing the best that she can through it all she learns that her friends and the community is there for her and want to help show her what people who care about you do for one another.

I have been excited for Roxie & Joe’s story since meeting them in book one. Though that one isn’t necessary to read before this one, I still think it gave a really good background for this book, plus it’s a really good story, so read it anyway!

Roxie & Joe have been best friend’s along with Quinn since they were kids. They were always really close, until a misunderstanding led Joe to turn his back on Roxie, destroying their friendship and causing a rift between them for years.

When the two finally communicate about what happened between them, Joe discovers just how wrong he was about Roxie. By this time something else has started happening - someone is after Roxie, and Joe is overwhelmed by his need to keep her safe.

While I wasn’t a big fan of what drove Joe to be so mean to Roxie, he sure did make up for it with how above and beyond he went for her. The twists and suspense had me on the edge of my seat and I 100% did NOT see the betrayal coming!

I’ve really been enjoying this series so far and can’t wait to see what comes next!

A friends to enemies to lovers story as FBI agent Joe Buchanan quits his job and returns to his island home. Things get off to a bad start when he reaches his father’s house and mistakenly thinks his former friend Roxie Jameson is an intruder not realising, she was renting the house.

The sparks flew between this couple right from the start. I felt sorry for for Roxie who had no idea why Joe had turned on her years before and in such a vicious manner and she missed his friendship. She hadn’t had the best home life, but Joe had always been someone she could always depend on until one day he was gone. When the truth comes out and a threat against Roxie emerges Joe is determined to protect her. With a great plot with some angst and a fair amount of suspense and some fabulous friendships that only come with the familiarity of living in a small town, Shattered Illusions, despite being the second book in the Hudson Island series, was a fantastic introduction to Christina Sol’s books.

Shattered Illusions by Christina Sol
This is the 2nd book in a series, but it can be read as a standalone. I was given this book as an arc and I have not read the first book in the series. I will be going back to read it! I adore Joe and Roxanne’s story.
Joe and Roxanne grew up together along with Quinn. Some where along the way Joe and Roxanne had a falling out. Roxanne never understood what happened. Joe has come back home after leaving his job with the FBI.
Being back on the island in Washington that they all grew up in and seeing Roxanne again will bring up old issues. Can Roxanne and Joe find their way back to being the friends they once were?
Along with Joe being back in town, Roxanne is dealing with a stalker, while trying to run her business.
She is trying to keep it together, but she can get to far into her head. Pick up Shatter Illusions and enjoy the Journey that is Joe and Roxanne

Shattered Illusions is the second book in the Hudson Island series. This one is Joe and Roxie's story. I had been looking forward to this one since the first book, Shattered Vows. They used to be best friends and now they are enemies. No one knows why they had a falling out, not even Roxie. Now Joe is back in town and someone is targeting Roxie.

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book. I loved Roxie and Joe. I loved that they were friends to enemies to lovers. It was obvious that they had loved each other their whole lives. They msytery was not obvious to me, but it definitely made sense once revealed. In this one, we also get introduced to a whole bunch of other alpha males who I can't wait to meet more in depth in their stories. Note: If you sign up for this author's newsletter, you can get a free bonus epilogue scene. It was adorable and completely satisfying ending.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers story - although actually this one is a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story. And then throw in the suspense and humor and I was totally hooked. Roxie and Joe have been in love with each other for years, although they've never admitted or acted on it. Then 3 years ago they became enemies. Now, Joe's back in town and behind the scenes his father has a hand in putting these two together in the same house.

I was rooting for Roxie and Joe to work things out and admit to their love. At times, I wanted to knock their heads together and tell them to talk to each other. But boy do they have chemistry! Then there's the suspense of someone targeting Roxie. It's a mystery as to why and who the person is although there are multiple potential suspects. Thankfully they did get their HEA.

A storyline featuring a second chance between lifelong best friends whose friendship was suddenly ended during an intense argument over 3 years ago. Joe is back on Hudson Island and he has an unexpected run in with Roxie in his childhood home. Anger and hurt feelings get tossed aside when he sees the damage he’s inflicted.

I enjoyed getting to know Roxie and Joe through their emotional rollercoaster journey. Both are very quick to react and attack and the volatility quickly becomes a bit much from 30 something’s.

The story is quick paced and entertaining, but I would have liked to see more character growth from both Joe and Roxie. I enjoyed the camaraderie between Joe, Roxie, Alex and Quinn, and the support Roxie had from the community.

I received a free ARC from the author and Grey’s PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

It was so nice that Roxie, Joe and Quinn had all grown up together. Unfortunately something happened three years ago that tore up Joe and Roxie’s precious friendship. I was glad that Joe knew he had to quit the FBI agency and went back home. He sure had a shock when he got to his father’s house late at night. Joe and Roxie were thrown back into each others lives, especially when someone started sending Roxie crazy pictures. Ms. Sol did a great job of keeping who was after Roxie until the end. Roxie and Joe’s relationship was up and down because of misunderstandings. My heart went out to both of them at various times. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Shattered Illusions is about Roxie and Joe. They have been best friends since they were kids along with Quinn. Roxie owns a café and catering business. Joe was a part of the FBI but had recently quit after what happened to Roxie at the end of the first book, Shattered Vows. Roxie and Joe have been on rocky grounds for the past three years, but Roxie doesn’t know the reason why. So, Joe is back in town and is living in his dad’s house that Roxie just so happens to be living in. All the while, Roxie has been receiving pictures of herself in the mail (different days and outfits). As Quinn is trying to find out who is sending her these pictures of her, things between her and Joe get a little heated.

I’m so happy Roxie and Joe finally got their HEA!!!! They definitely deserved it! I loved the plot and how things fell into place for them! Even though they argue all the time, Joe is extremely protective, and possessive of Roxie and I love that! There’s great spice, suspense that made you question everything and there’s that amazing enemies to lovers banter!

While I enjoyed most parts of this book, some of the characters drove me crazy at times. You have Roxie who is upset with Joe in the beginning when he punches her because he thought she was an intruder. But she hit him with a baseball bat. What am I missing? You have Quinn, the sheriff who punches first and gets the story last. Joe could have filed police brutality charges against him. Friend or no friend. Joes father, was just as bad. He allows Roxie to stay at the place but doesn’t even inform his own son? Does anyone in that town use their brain? If that’s small town living, count me out! I liked Joe as I thought he was a true hero who protects those he cares about. I could have done without Roxie, but that’s just my opinion. I received an ARC copy.

This is the 2nd book in this incredible series, and this is Joe and Roxie’s story. Roxie is a strong, determined, fiercely independent, workaholic, who is the owner of a successful café and catering company. Joe is charming and a former FBI agent, who has returned home to regroup.
Joe and Roxie used to be best friends, and due to Joe’s actions, they are bitter enemies, but now that he is home, he is determined to make amends to Roxie for destroying their friendship.
This is a well written story which is action packed, with mystery, friendships, family, danger, suspense, intrigue, drama, trust, romance, twists, and love, which leads to a steamy and thrilling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I have been dying for Joe and Roxie’s book! When I read the previous book I was just as invested in Joe and Roxie and knew their story would be amazing.

When Joe retires from the FBI and comes home he is surprised to find his enemy, who is also his ex-best friend in his house. Miscommunication over an incident several years ago stopped their friendship causing them to do nothing but argue the past several years. When Joe finally reveals why he has been mad at Roxie and sees what a mistake he’s made they are finally able to admit their true feelings. They are off incredibly hot together with so much chemistry.

I absolutely loved Roxie’s fierce, independent personality. Joe was a character I wanted to hate at first but just couldn’t. Together they were perfect!

This book was the second book in Christina Sol’s Hudson Island Series. While it can be read as a stand-a-lone I highly recommend reading book one first. If you love steamy, suspenseful romance you will love this book.

This was a pleasant and an easy read.
Story was about two best friends that broke up 3 years ago. We get little snippets of what happened back then throughout the story.
Joe is back home after a disaster case.
Roxie had moved into Joe's dad's house as he didn't live their.
When thses 2 meet again, it isn't pleasant. But now they're room mates.
This journey is about discovering the misunderstanding, overcoming the hurt and anger from the past and exploring their spark.
But someone is after Roxie and scaring her. I loved that I guessed correctly who the stalker was.
Can these two get over their past and love? Why did they break? And who is threatening her?
Great read full off suspense, drama, banter, love and some spice.

Disillusioned, former FBI agent Joe Buchanan arrives back in town to find his frenemy, Roxie living in his house, and the sparks fly. Joe, Quinn and Roxie were best freinds for more than half their lives, until a sudden falling out a few years ago put Joe on the outside of the inner circle. Now he's back and the bickering is legendary. Whether they'll be able to bury the hatchett is up for debate but when Roxie gets herself a stalker, all bets are off. Joe will do anything to protect the girl he's been crazy about for most of his life.

Fantastic read. Great suspense. Awesome characters. So happy that smoldery Joe redeems himself from his juvenile treatment of Roxie on the last book. Great continuation to this new series.
