“Don’t try to be my hero. Don’t care about me. Don’t let go.”
Twenty-two-year-old Beatrice Stevens lives to dance. Two years ago she walked in on the picture of horror: after stabbing her mom 34 times, her father killed himself. She found his corpse still clutching at her mom’s, determined not to let go of her even in death. Now Beatrice freaks out if she’s hugged, loomed over or receives attention from daddy-type guys. Unless she’s dancing—the one thing that feeds her soul and saves her time after time.
Anthony Gowl wants Beatrice from the moment she bumps her adorable nose into his chest. That desire turns into a burning need after he sees her dance. But he’s the overprotective type—he can’t help it, it’s part of him ever since his sister ODed seven years ago. His savior complex makes him the perfect opposite of what Beatrice needs.
But she can’t seem to shake him. He’s both scary and exciting, even when he kneels at her feet. And the closer he gets, the more that toxic waste in her soul threatens to explode.
Livia Olteano is a loud and proud coffee addict, lover of all things beautiful and incurable romantic.
She believes stories are the best kind of magic there is. And life would be horrible without magic. Her hobbies include losing herself in the minds and souls of characters, giving up countless nights of sleep to get to know said characters, and trying to introduce them to the world. Sometimes they appreciate her efforts. The process would probably go quicker if they’d bring her a cup of coffee now and then when stopping by. Characters—what can you do, right?
Blitzkrieg Love is written in Beatrice's POV giving us a view of who she really is. Beatrice is a dancer, traumatised by an event that took her mother away from her. Years later, she still doesn't trust easily, and the only man she trusted is her ex. She gets a job offer in a Club and while scoping it, she meets Antony.
I like Beatrice' character. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Anthony was patient and exactly what Beatrice needed to get over that painful past. And he called her Sparrow. That nickame sealed the deal for me, I fell in love. What bothered me was the way, one minute she was calling Anthony names and for some reason I felt as if she despised him, but the next moment she wanted him. This was a bit weird to me. I liked the supporting characters. Doug was awesome! :) Otherwise, this is a quick, steamy read. If you are looking for a weekend, hot read, I recommend this one.
"Secrets are living things that eat your soul. You keep them hidden because you're afraid everyone will know not what you're hiding, but how much of you your secrets have been eating. How little you've been able to fight their monstrous hunger."
Bea's father killed her mother and killed himself in the most gruesome way. The scene of her father hugging her mother in that bloody mess left Bea traumatized of anyone acting like a dad and hugs. Two years later, Bea is taking up a job as a dancer and ends up bumping into a man-wall Anthony. Anthony is a man who gets what he wants and has his sights set on Bea. Bea isnt fond of men who are overly protective but she can't help but find him attractive. The more closer they get, the more she pushes away. Her traumatic past will get in the way of her future if she doesn't learn to stop running from anyone who gets close.
I really loved this quick and fun read. I really liked the characters and seeing the relationship between Anthony and Bea. Even though I loved watching how things went between Anthony and Bea I can't help but feel they fell too hard too fast. Bea was traumatized and seemed to quickly warm up to Anthony time frame of the book seemed to be about less than a week. Other then that the book was great.
I'm a bit curious to know more about Bea and Tony before she did the switching jobs and stuff. To see what was it like between them if there was anything that seem to lead him on or something, maybe hear about his point of view that he decided to do what he did in this book.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and recommend to anyone who would like a quick and steamy read. "You're not broken, sparrow. You're just scared. We're all scarred. It means we survived things that hurt. It doesn't make us broken. It makes us strong"
Beatrice has closed herself off since the day she witnessed the aftermath of her parent's murder-suicide. Her sense of love and security ended that day and she now relies only on herself. Her motto is look, don't touch.....except under her terms. The only time she feels alive is when she's dancing which reveals her true emotions to all. She's a strong young woman forced to grow up quickly who's not afraid to speak her mind. With all the emotional baggage she carries it's going to take a strong man to get through the walls she's put up which leads to an emotionally intense road to a HEA.
Anthony is just that man. He's strong and wise, along with being super sexy, with a need to save those he cares about after not being able to save his sister years ago. From the first moment he sees Bea he knows he has to have her. No matter how hard she pushes him away he pushes just as hard back which ultimately leads to some very steamy encounters. At times it felt as if Tony was being a bit overpowering but his intensity is exactly what Bea needed to realize that she was jeopardizing her future by living in the past.
This is a very fast read told from Bea's perspective which gave us great insight into her heart and mind but it left Tony a bit of a mystery. I usually enjoy seeing secondary characters but in this story we got only brief moments with other characters as the main focus is on Bea and Tony and their sensual journey to a HEA. The scenes involving Bea's dancing added to that sensual journey as the scenes were both sexy and heartfelt, joyous and sad. These scenes said more through action than words about Bea's inner turmoil and were nicely spaced throughout the story. This was an enjoyable story about the healing power of love and forgiveness and I look forward to what Ms. Olteano has planned next.
Smart, fun, and incredibly sexy, Blitzkrieg Love has all the elements of a great story. Told from the point of view of Bea, a young 20-something dancer in a nightclub, Blitzkrieg Love follows her as she is forced to find her inner strength and overcome her fears.
Bea is a great lead. Though far from perfect, she is a young independent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. She dances because she loves how alive it makes her feel and is not ashamed to stick to her morals and not take it any further, even under pressure. Doug and Anthony are great characters, too, and well written. I really wish that there would have been more of the secondary characters in the story. Tony and Justine, in particular, were kind of glossed over even though they potentially played important roles in the book.
The heat between Bea and Anthony was fabulously sexy. They had an instant spark that sent chills down my spine. Intense is the only word that can describe Anthony, and that is exactly what Bea did not want. The only thing that bothered me about their relationship is I would have loved to have their courting/flirting drawn out more instead of the instantaneous love that took place. This was a relatively short book at around 150 words, so there was plenty of room to expand and draw out the tension between them. As it was, it was not really believable that Bea could go from one extreme of panicking fear to the other of complete trust in such a short time after living with her fears for two long years.
Overall this turned out to be an excellent story that I enjoyed very much.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Beatrice Stevens keeps herself sheltered from touch, it doesn't mean that she doesn't partake in the occasional affair, but it is always with her rules. Her one area of pure freedom is her ability to dance, she expresses all those emotions she bottles up and lets them free with the rhythm of music. When she is offered a dancing position at an elite club, she decides to check it out but doesn't plan on walking directly into the path of Anthony Gowl.
Tony knows the instant she bumps into him he is smitten. He knows the moment he receives a royal ass chewing he is in full lust. He knows the second she begins to dance he has to have her. Both Tony and Beatrice are broken, he wants to help her move past her hurt and hopes in time she will trust him enough to do just that.
Beautifully seductive. I loved that Beatrice's dancing was so expressive through out the book, she is tough as nails and doesn't back down but you know she is vulnerable despite it all. I thought Tony was fascinating, he has an edge to him and you are not sure what he is going to do with Beatrice to breakthrough the wall she has erected.
Blitzkrieg Love by Livia Olteano is an ominous, heart-wrenching read. The word blitzkrieg originated from German and means an intense campaign intended to bring about a swift victory. This book is an intense, dangerous love story with a well deserved happy ending. The title is perfect for this book. Read More
I'm a fan of the Summon series (I like this author a lot) that's why I gave this book a try. Now, here comes the part that I dread the most : first of all, I gave it two stars because I didn't find the main characters interesting enough to hold my attention. I believe that an author puts a lot of effort into a book. Said that, I think Livia Olteano has a lot of talent no doubt about it! However, I am NOT impressed with this book at all the heroine if anyone wants to call it that (I would call her damaged and no end in sight) had some trauma that occurred when she found her parents dead...that's very traumatic no doubt about it. .. but what does that has to do with not being able to be hugged or the opposite? I didn't get it at all! I am a Psichology major so I really do not see the connection at all. Don't get me started with the hero my dear heavens. ...what a doormat! I don't write reviews very often but I needed to say something about this book Not For Me! I hate damaged characters they make me sick.
This was a really good story. I enjoyed it that much, I wished it would go a bit longer. So why only 3 Stars:
The title is an absolutely NO GO! I am even embarrassed to put it on my list. I really was thinking about not to mention it at all but I like it enough to put it put there. One more point which reduced my rating was the abrupt ending. For all the brokenness of him and her, the ending was rushed.
But again, the story was great but the name is NOT acceptable in any case!
