Major Aaditya Sen and his team from Unit 22 are now operating from the basement of a building that housed other Government agencies like the R&AW. However, an unexpected leak to media about one of their secret missions forced their boss Srini to send them off from the suspicious eyes to a base camp on the border of Myanmar.
Major Sen and his boys are sent on a mission to hand over 3 men to the Myanmar army in return for an unknown favour — pick an asset and return back to the base. Things take a nasty turn when the truth of the asset is known; will Major Sen succeed in this mission forms the rest of the story.
This is the 3rd book in the Unit 22 series after the 1st Assassin and 2nd Fugitive . The main characters are retained by the author and new ones like a female protoganist are added. While I liked the first part in this series and found it to be a decent thriller, the second part was amazing and was very impressive. The author built on the momentum in this part and has outdone himself.
I especially liked how Aaditya Sen’s character retains his qualities but the author builds it better with each part making him more relatable by the reader. The twists and turns will keep the reader on the edge; the author picks new terrain and surroundings like Myanmar, China, Tibet for this part and builds an atmospheric thriller around that.
The action sequences are well executed and the author succeeds in maintaining the adrenaline rush all through. I am thrilled that the author hints at a next part in this series as closing remarks, so looking forward to the next mission of Major Aaditya Sen.

☕️Finally book three in the series and I can’t keep calm, the second book had the most satisfying ending but I always wanted it to last and so here is the third book in the series and oh my my!! What a sequel, what an addition to series, I feel the best thing about this book is, it can be read as a standalone too, with few references of course but I’m sure it will convince you to read the first two books too!
I feel the 3rd Survivor is also more intense than the two books because here the battle is not just amongst two teams, it’s actually a war! The author has done a great job while plotting everything, I also liked how even though off beat he explores human relationships, minute detailing of the characters and adding those twists really makes it very engaging and everything feels so real.
Dhar is so good at storytelling, you need not do anything once you start the book, everything starts to automatically plot in your head and you start the imagination, there were scary jumps because it was unpredictable and here the survivor was very good and also well built.
I always have affinity for thrillers and this book is truly satisfying.
I also, fell in love with Unit 22 and became a fan of their work through Dhar’s multidimensional writing skills and extraordinary ideas and skills that he brings while telling his readers the most engaging and entertaining stories!
A stunning read altogether and can’t wait for the crew’s next adventure!! Yay! Definitely recommended.

Congratulations to the author Mainak Dhar for writing a wonderful book which will not only keep you hooked till the last page, but also force you towards deep thinking. Though the discussion of the story line in such a book where many surprises are waiting after turning the pages , I personally don't like. As it destroys the author's effort and spoiler is never a great experience for me. However the storyline follows a covert military team with expertise in off-the-grid operations, is forced into action after a mission gone wrong. They must navigate hostile territory, including treacherous terrain and an overwhelming Chinese force, to extract a valuable asset. 🖊️Heh i have to say this. I'm torn now. My eyes rolled so much while reading this book that I may have permanently damaged at least some of my cranial nerves. And yet I read it in one sitting, annoyingly and inexplicably entertained. Go

🖊️The author beautifully invited to unit 22 Covert story, the story is all about the things that happened between them. Mainak has the beautiful ability to craft things and he has the knack to grab the attention of the readers.
🖊️The premise: which include the Chinese troops are added perks. I really don't have any idea what is beyond their borders. They just know it's dangerous. Inside the city, humanity is divided based on moral imperatives. The community's leaders, since they alone can be trusted not to be power-hungry.
🖊️I definitely enjoyed it. At first, I had trouble convincing myself to read it, because recently the hyped books gave me a bad experience.This one is not like that.
🖊️As for the plotting: it was very good, in my humble opinion. I enjoyed the mystery, and the unraveling of it, and the big reveal(s). May I suggest you read this as an action romp, rather than a sophisticated thriller?
The big question here is obviously “will I read his other novel?” – hell yes I reckon I will.
