I like the whole concept of mind mapping, but this author really gets under my skin, with his supercilious nature.
If you, like me, like the whole concept of mind mapping, then give this book a go. The only thing I will say is: "Don't always believe what this author tells you," as some of his ideas have been refuted.
Apparently, the words of Tony Buzan: " The mind map is the, ' Most Powerful Thinking Tool In The Universe'," will draw you in and hopefully, have you believing everything stated in his book.
I beg to differ on this...the brain is the most powerful thinking tool in the universe!
Lots of Hyperbole to keep the readers interested🙄
I will say one thing though, this book has gave me a few ideas for designing mind maps, but I just wish it was written by somebody less...conceited.
I feel a 3 star review is very fair, given the fact that the author likes to go on and on and on and on about all his great ideas, and most of all, his: 'Mind Mapping Tool'. The tool he created, but can't he proved.
I guess you do get some authors who think they are so special and like us to know it.
My final thoughts are that, being a new student, in Higher Education (doing an Open University degree in computing and I.T), this book has come in handy for helping me design my first mind map, which was on my learning strengths and weaknesses list.
It has showed me the many central rules you should use before starting a mind map, including: using a central image or picture; using different coloured branches for each topic and using a single key image or word for each branch. These ideas where a massive help in showing me how to design my first mind map.
Only time will tell whether this simple, but effective idea will help me in my forth coming studies and help me to gain the certificate I so desire🤔
