Great first vol.
Good world building.
The male mc has ambitions, motivation, will and the ability to fulfill his goal. He's also not dumb like typical LN male mcs.

The female mc is a breath of fresh air. She also has ambitions; or rather, she has a strong sense of duty. She isn't dumb and does things to the extent of her abilities to help, which in turn does help.
There is romance in this series, but a slow one, and I think it's a good one.

All in all, it's really good. I don't even know if I should call this a Light Novel, since it isn't a 'light' read. It's a full pledged novel.

Right off the bat, the writing was professional. The characters... not immature, but not mature either. There is little to no action in this series, and there is no magic. Therefore dialog is all we have, but the characters are children, incapable of ... dialog.

You see the problem? There's nothing there, this book gives no reason for the reader to continue reading.

It's Actually more of a novel than a "light" novel. The protagonist is very interesting, So far the characters are interesting. The male and female ( especially the protagonist) have enough character development leaving you curious for next volume. Looking forward to read the next one!

So, I found this book just a week ago from mangaupdates.com. Ten minutes into the book, I'm chiding myself: "How did I F*ing found this book just now! This is exactly what I had been looking for!" Alright, alright, enough with the rant. Now onto the review:

Our protagonist, Orba, is a gladiator, a slave fated to die for the amusement of nobles. By the twist of fate, Orba has the exact same face with the country's only prince, who is also well known for his stupidity, weakness, and... alright, nothing kind about the prince.

Nobody could foresee that just right before the prince political marriage with enemy's princess, he will die. No spoiler alert? Come on, obviously that kind of stupid guy has to die to make way for our protagonist to enter the stage, right?

Now, in order to prevent the peace talk (and political marriage) failing, Orba was brought in as body double to the prince.

Suddenly being brought out from danger of dying as gladiator, Orba faces another form of danger: political play. He must conceal that he is a fake prince, hiding his physical prowess, and of course: find a way to win battles with the army he is now entrusted with. He still has his own personal enemy and revenge that he is looking for. Problem is, the enemy that killed his own family, is now one of the pawn that he need in the war.

Interesting, right? This is a Japanese light novel, that luckily is available for free in English, made possible by fan-based translation community. The link to the free translation is: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/ind...
