This one felt pretty short overall; it's the conclusion to the previous arc (Zero the Original Demon Lord system and his noble controller's Gambit to take control of all Lyradons, and in turn rule the people; our heroes attempting to stop them). I thought maybe that story would take us through to the end of the entire book series, but nope, it's just one small arc, more baddies coming down the line apparently.
There's no singular focus character in this one, a full cast effort, and not too too much learned here that will be major going forward (besides learning a bit more about how far civilization had advanced technologically before giving up their pursuits of scientific things like space travel for pursuit of magic). CMID-8 gets some play in this one, more of a setup for future volumes (they clearly have designs on where they want the plot and the power struggle to go). There's also a lot of talk of the "self" vs Lyradons or other created beings.
Overall, not my favorite volume, but it did move pretty fast, so I can't complain about it being slow.
In this novel the story, that started with the events of the 7 volume, comes to a conclusion. Some events happen only because of the characters unbelievable stupidity, for example the destruction of Keisus ability to seal Zero (I mean how could possibly that scorched 'android' come inside that room, without being noticed by Junko and Akuto?). Also the girls could not possibly send more obvious love signals go Akuto, but he (like most harem based series overlooks that and acts like a 5 years old). I am seriously getting afraid if Akuto forms a BL relationship with Hiroshi. I got a feeling that the last two chapter were written in a rush, specially the last one. There was a surprise when Keena became the new empress and the author did not explain how will Keena seal Akuto's power, but I guess that will be explained in the next installment.
