The world of Athumia is in turmoil.

With the mighty Dominion on the brink of a Civil War, and the Gunstians hungry for vengeance, what chance does the tiny Serpent Isle have against its enemies?

The Demon Witch can no longer come to their rescue. In her stead, the people of the island place their trust in another – a young outcast with horns. Long despised for his Part-Bullan heritage, Lahnos is thrust into the role of saviour. Can he rise to the challenge and save the island that once hated him?

About Me

I love deserts, which is too bad as I live in Scotland, but the mountains, glens and lochs more than make up for it. My other love is Greek Tragedy, especially Euripides, and I also read history, science, fantasy, and pretty much anything about the Beatles…

Once again the author has outdone himself with advancing this story. This new world has been in peril since we began the story. The character arcs have deepened, tensions increased, and there are so many things happening! You get the feel for this mismatched group of friends who are very separate culturally and ideal wise at the start of this series and are now coming together in a way that I did not imagine. This set of books is a great way to start into the authors longstanding works and will encourage you to start at his first book and catch up. It is not necessary to do so but it does satisfy the curiosity I had in knowing all the details that built up to this point and adds layers to an already incredible trilogy! Highly Recommended!!

I finished reading Death Seer late last night and then spent at least an hour thinking about the story. This third book in the Magelands Dominion series is SO good and just might be one of my favorite Christopher Mitchell books to date. Having read all of Mitchell's books I've come to expect great story telling and wonderfully lovable characters. This book hit all the spots then kept going. Death Seer kept me engaged from page 1, so much so that I read into the early hours of the morning. It was that hard to put down. It brought out so many edge-of-the-seat feelings. I loved the tension-breaking bits of humor. And, oh, the love scenes - I blushed. (tongue in cheek) (Thank you, Christopher Mitchell, for NOT writing romance novels.) I didn't want the story to end. I would give this book ten stars.

What happened? Character's strengths and weaknesses were tested; lines were blurred; loyalties shifted then shifted again. Small letter "g" gods came and went. Lahnos lost the chip on his shoulder. Questions were answered and more were posed. And, I want more.

The Magelands Dominion series is a good entry point into Christopher Mitchell's Magelands universe. Mitchell has done this before - offered entry points, that is. He might do this so as not to overwhelm new readers with the shear volume of books he has written. Just speculating. I find this method to be pure genius. New readers become familiar with Mitchell's writing style, are soon hooked and want more. Let me tell you, when you find an author whose work you enjoy reading, it's exciting to go back and start the journey from the beginning even if you first dipped your toe in along the way. The Magelands universe is filled with so many fabulous adventures and lovers of epic fantasy fiction should read every one of them.

If I could this book more than 5 stars I would! The story takes you on the type of uplifting, unrelenting and unforgettable adventure that only Christopher Mitchell can do. I'm in awe of the amount of books he produces which all meet such a high standard of writing, world building and making you feel like you are a part of the action.

If you are new to this trilogy then buckle in and be ready to be introduced to one of the greatest fantasy novels that you can find. If you are already a fan and have read the previous books, then this will offer enough connections to the past novels, with twists, turns and new characters to keep falling in love with.

I don't want to give any spoilers but do want to say - just read it, clear your diary, turn off your phone and let the journey continue to unfold in the most magnificent way. Bravo again Mr Mitchell and thank you!

Death Seer: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 3), my twenty-third read from prolific author Christopher Mitchell, 466-pages of epic fantasy. When I want to read epic fantasy I first look for author Christopher Mitchell. I look forward to reading more from this author, in fact Blood Burden: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 4) is already on my TBR list and it won't be published until November. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Another Great read which I found hard to put down. I think we've finally found characters in this book to love and follow as we all have in past Magelands series, and will be interested to see how they develop if not in the next books somewhere further down the series. Another really enjoyable read as usual and look forward to the next in the series. I haven't gone into much detail as didn't want to put spoilers in.

I must admit that I found this series harder to get into after the original series. But each new book gets better and better. With the latest book, the third in the series, Death Seer, Chris is back on top form. Mageland Dominion goes from strength to strength.Death Seer

More twists, turns and epic story telling from Mitchell.

Key characters keep pushing the story forward and coming into their own which is a strength of the author. The pay off at the end of this installment is *chefs kiss* perfect.

A lot of questions left unanswered so we wait with bated breath for Book 4.

Death Seer Review
It has taken until this book to really get into this new series by Christopher. It was worth keeping at it and this book seemed to have it all. Battles, political intrigue as well as blossoming love story. The setting of the latest Mageland is very different as are many of the characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

Death Seer

Amazing! Just when I thought Mitchell couldn’t surprise me anymore - he does! All through the Mageland series, I keep thinking I have it figured out, but no, another twist that I am surprised at comes along. Love the fact that the characters are so well fleshed out. Sometimes, forget they aren’t real people.

Another awesome trilogy from Mitchell

I was excited to see Christopher Mitchell had another series out and as with all the other stories, it was brilliant! The characters are flawed and believable, the setting described so you can see it. And I am loving the crossover with the other series! Off to download the next trilogy now...!

Absolutely outstanding! The twists and turns with the plot and characters kept me guessing. Several of the characters I disliked at the beginning I liked at the end. Just an all around fantastical story that ties together with his other series of books.
