This is an updated cover edition released 5/2013 for ASIN: B00BIL0F8W
Remember Me is a romantic mystery, steeped in magic and seasoned with southern flair...and a dash of Steampunk on the side.
If you could change the events of time, what would you have to worry about...besides consequences?
Joey is a nineteen-year-old girl from rural Arkansas who has inherited a very special gift, a gift for manipulating time and changing things. Threading events to ensure outcomes are more desirable, life is relatively normal until she begins to hear an enchanting male voice in her head. He tells her he needs her help. Before she finds him, she will have to trust him.
Torn between dark and light threads, Joey must find a way to unravel things. To do this she must focus on one truth: Love keeps us safe, makes us complete - whole. Everything happens for a reason and behind every reason...is a Weaver.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was immediately "weaved" in to the character's lives. The tension and suspense kept me turning the pages, and most of the mysteries were eventually revealed. Magical and romanic, it's not a genre that I'm normally drawn to, but am excitedly looking forward to the next book in this series. Kudos to this Author!
Joey is a petite, 19-year-old, blonde with a gift she doesn't understand. She spends her energy helping everybody around her. But, after being drawn to California from the Bayou, she learns she must save herself before she can help those that she loves.
What would you do if you have special abilities and you have no idea how to use them? What if you could control everything around you, including the concept of time? What if you can go back in time to save the one person you truly loved? Would you?
Remember Me is a very interesting story about a young woman who is trying to understand her abilities. “Joey” is a feisty young girl, who starts to hear voices in her head. Not understanding, she does what the voices tell her to do.
I enjoyed Joey and I especially enjoyed Kalan’s gentle soul. As sweet and gentle Kalan is, Kess is just as interesting. Kess is a bit darker and unpredictable- has even a dangerous side to him. I think I may actually have been drawn to Kess more with his “bad boy” rep. I’m really curious about what actually happens to Kess in the sequel.
The author has a gift with words, and I enjoyed how everything came together at the end. There are a lot of unanswered questions, which I’m sure will be answered in the sequel. This is a good YA novel, consisting of romance, action, paranormal, and suspense.
The whole concept of weavers - light and dark - is very cool, which intrigued me well into the story. The action was slow-paced in the beginning, but there was so much information conveyed about Joey's past that I wasn't particularly bothered by it.
In contrast, the action in the final sequence felt a bit rushed and abrupt, as it's left on a distinct cliffhanger, leading into the next book of the series.
The plot kept me guessing and I admit I'd figured out a little about Kalan before it was apparent to Joey, but not so much as to make the story particularly predictable.
I usually like to compare one story to an example of another, but I'm just stumped as to what Remember Me compares to. It seems unique - unless you count the sequel, which I haven't read yet. I believe I might, though.
Joey is an engaging nineteen-year-old young woman who embarks on a journey of discovery. Leaving behind the small town and family life she has known, Joey begins the adventure of her life.
Remember Me, by Dena Nicotra, is the compelling story of Joey's gift and her quest to find the source of the strange, yet familiar, voice in her head.
Through the story, Joey learns many lessons. She's already learned many of the strings that accompany her gift, and how to handle them. During her journey, she also learns lessons in compassion and love.
I enjoyed reading the book, and recommend it to teen readers, as well as more mature readers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was intricate and very well explained. I was drawn instantly into the action and really intrigued by this new take on time travel. It was an interesting concept and a great way of story telling. I loved the idea of weaving threads of time and the ending caught me by surprise. It was really well edited, which was a relief and I would definitely read more of these novels.
