This was an excellent insight into storytelling. Ty dives in and breaks down the elements of how to tell a great story, that will influence your audience, and make your stories memorable. There was a lot of great information in the book, and a lot of it wasn't new to me, and can be found in other places, but the great part was the delivery along with his own more original ideas. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to better influence people, or tell better stories.
A clear outline of how to tell your story, no matter the purpose. Full of illustrations, examples, stories, and tips Bennett shows how to construct, and deliver, a story. Very practical and helpful.
This and his other books are good "seminar" books. Those books that they sell when you see him speak, and to build credibility. It is short so it might actually be read and is fairly simple. It holds its place just not at the top of influential reads.
I enjoyed the book, and there were lots of good techniques that I’ll implement when telling stories and presenting. There were tons of typos and editorial mistakes (missing spaces, missing punctuation, sentences duplicated) that were very distracting to read. Also, the book was repetitive at times with the same sentence repackaged multiple times in the same paragraph. Overall, I’d recommend the book to a friend.
This was a great book regarding practical uses of different tools and mindsets in order to tell a great story. People understand what they can picture.
This book gives very helpful and practical ways to improve your storytelling. And because people connect best to well-told stories, this book is incredibly timely.
