Penguins

Rate this book
Bestselling children’s author Kay de Silva presents “Penguins”. The book uses captivating illustrations and carefully chosen words to teach children about "The Social Bird”.

This series is known as one of the most beautiful on the kindle. The pictures look great even in black and white and are excellent on the full color kindle. The description in the large text beneath is simple enough for early readers or for a parent to guide a child through.

There is also a picture caption, which provides more information to talk about with your child. Alternatively, a child of any age (even the child in you) can just look at the images and appreciate its beauty.

This book depicts the wonder of the world of Penguins in all its glory. Children are given a well-rounded understanding of this fascinating creature: its anatomy, feeding habits and behavior. The following penguins are featured:
* The fierce Adelie Penguin
* The comical African Penguin
* The aggressive Chinstrap Penguin
* The awesome Emperor Penguin
* The strange Galapagos Penguin
* The regal King Penguin
* The beautiful Little Blue Penguin
* The burrowing Magellanic Penguin
* The bad-tempered Rockhopper Penguin

I enjoyed compiling this book. I even learned a few things along the way. Perhaps you will too.

Kay de Silva created the Our Amazing World Series with the premise of creating beautiful, fact-rich books, written in simple words that kids would love to read over and over again.

The series is based on themes of animals in their natural habitats, with a strong call to appreciate the role that each living creature plays in making our world the abundant and fascinating place that it is.

Kay practiced as a lawyer for some years before moving into corporate communications. She left the career rat-race behind to bring up her two children; a daughter of seven and a son of five. She and her family live in Melbourne Australia.

"It's so rewarding to hear of the delight that my books bring to young readers. Equally thrilling are the messages from parents who say 'Really? I didn't know that."

She'd love to hear from you too, and can be found on:

Tacky The Penguin is a great tie to this book because in the story they end up evading hunters and my nonfiction twin discusses the decline in penguin population because human activity. This book shows all the different types of penguins and their anatomy, habitat and how they care for their young. Also, Tacky is such a funny book with an underlying lesson to be learned that it's not bad to be different.

I loved this book.

Yes, it is for young audiences, but I love penguins and this book gives a great, but short look into different species of penguins. The pictures are crisp and clear making this book a great one to read and look at.
