I would like to thank Lovers of Paranormal group and the author Rebekah Daniels for allowing to read this book for an honest review.

Wow, where can I start to describing this book?, Well this book was between a 4.5 and 5 stars, but it is definetely a 5 stars book, there were minor typing mistakes, but it was an editing issue, so not big deal.

The story had a good flow, I did not get lost by reading what was ocurring during the storylines of the many characters in the book. I was so into the story that I looked for the short novel before Celestial Begginnings, "Prelude to a Dream" and oh my, it won't dissapointed you whatsoever! You get to see the other side of one of the main characters.

I love Malachi and Gemariah, and my favorite of all was Gideon. Gemariah easy-going personality was adorable and his anticts against Nicci were funny and entertaining! Malachi and Trinity, those two were perfect for each other, soulmates. Tori was a badass fighter and strong female, she was like the older sister I would like to have, Terah was the little sister of the gang, which made her the cutest of all of the Nephilim. Gideon was my favorite, you really need to see him and technically read about him to see that he is not what others think of him...

The story about their past and the courage those nephilim have to protect humanity and do God's work won over the sexual scenes, not that they were bad, they were good, steamy, seductive kinda way good, but the story was excellent.

I would truly, sincerely recommended this book to anyone that likes erotica paranormal romance or if you looking for something similar to the works of J. R. Ward.

Ms. Daniels: I can't honestly wait for your next book, you have become one of my favorite authors.
Readers: Watch out for this author, she won't dissapoint you! Really you'll fall in love with her work. because I did!!!

I love this book it made me laugh and cry at the end .... I love the love story between Trinity and Malachi. The way they met in a dream and didn't know each other was real until he found her almost dead, not knowing he was holding his soul mate.

If you like a book with love and awesome nephilim( a nephilim is a descendant of an angel) ,Then u need to read this !

Favorite Lines “Most can’t fight the urge, and it is forever a balancing act for the ones that chose the path of light. This was God’s gift to all, no matter who you were, free will. Therefore, even though it is told that all nephilims are evil, in reality, some chose to fight the good fight on the side of the Lord. It gets easier for nephilims the more generations that pass because of the increase in humanity to the bloodlines.”

“He would never understand women. One moment they were about to make each other cry, but before they separated they… professed their love”

“I was twenty and thought the sun rose and set around her. Now I know that I was being young and stupid, because I can never remember feeling this out of control with her. It feels like I’m spinning at warp speed with nothing to hold onto. All it takes is one look from you to make my heart speed up. That’s how you make me feel.”

“When he pulled back, the feeling of completeness never left, and he wondered if it ever would. At that moment, he prayed that it never did. He felt that after so many years, he finally had something to lose. The feeling was utterly terrifying, but at the same time, very
comforting.”

I'm so upset that I waited so long to read this! It was yummy, action packed, and full of forgiveness!
Malachi is a Nephilim, his great great grandfather was a fallen angel.
He wants to be nothing like his "family" so he and other nephilims fight for goodness!
Trinty is a teacher with a past, she ended an abusive relationship and her only time of feeling safe is when she dreams. She has the most amazing dreams with the yumminess man!
Malachi has been having the same dreams. So when they meet the real world literally meshes with fantasy!
This was a great story. I loved so much about it. The pride and determination Malachi has regarding not becoming like his ancestors was admirable. When he met Trinty it was so heartwarming and scary at the same time. I won't give away more but this is a great book for all lovers of paranormal romance!

The heroine, supposedly a teacher, had me gritting my teeth at her poor grammar--an offense to teachers everywhere. The writing was filled with odd phrasing, poor sentence structure, and misused words, as if the book had been written by Yoda, e.g. "she locked back up the house," "she threw her face towards," "It was him that," "Malachi and her had gotten." "Ramiel is known to have the personality of a tornado; carefree one minute and horrifically angry the next." Uh, just how carefree is a tornado? Young people, if you aspire to be an author, it would behoove you to stay awake during English class, or do schools not bother teaching English anymore? After reading "she found herself staring into two orbs of black ibis," there was no hope of enjoying the rest of the book, and the solecisms just kept coming, too numerous to count.

Review upgraded to 4-stars

I had initially received this book for free as part of the Lovers of Paranormal Book of the Month club. At the time, while the story was enchanting, there were some rough points that made the book difficult to read, especially the frequent tense shifts from first-person/present tense to third-person/past tense point of view. It was dismaying to leave a 2-star review for a story that otherwise had a compelling storyline, but the tense-shifts were too egregious to ignore. The author informed us after I left my review that she had pulled the book from distribution and was sending it off to an editor.

Well ... I'm happy to say this story has benefited greatly from the extra attention the author lavished upon it and I am now pleased to upgrade my review to 4-stars. The Nephilim are real, their struggle with their dark side leaves you wondering which one of them might succumb even as they try to do good in the world, and I find my mind running off on tangents about this minor character or that one, wondering which one will star in the next book in the series and looking forward to it, the mark of an excellent story.

I am leaving my original review below so readers can see the book then, as I first read it (for free, I might add!) and now that it has benefited from a little extra love.

4-stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS:

May upgrade this book to 3- or 4-stars later...

We read this book as our Indie BOTM for Lovers of Paranormal. I snagged it free (thank you, Rebekah Daniels). Had it not been BOTM and up for discussion, honestly I probably would have DNF'd it. While the characters and story were compelling, the way the author constantly shifted between first-person/present-tense POV and third-person/past-tense POV was so jarring it constantly kept knocking me out of the story.

Okay ... that's the bad...

Here's the good...

I liked Trinity. I liked her students. I liked her BFF (and wonder if Nicki had a little ... lapse ... with a certain arrogant ... okay ... no more speculation about spoilers for the next book in the series). I adored Malachi. And I adored his Nephilim friends, especially Geremiah and Gideon. The research into Angelic lore was interesting, Malachi and the other Nephilim's inner struggle with their own tainted bloodline felt real, and towards the end I found myself turning the pages muttering, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon because I wanted to hurry up and get to the end to find out what happened.

My only other complaint is a nit-picky one ... Azazel as a villain seemed a bit Boris and Natasha. Not so much it ruined the story, but after such a lovely description of the 'good' Nephilim's struggle with their own internal demons, I think the author could have done a better job of fleshing out a motive for Azazel to hate god and his own offspring. Perhaps the next book? New hero? New demon?

This book (and this series) has a ton of potential and I'd like to see what happens with Geremiah and friends in subsequent books. It just needs another wash and rinse through the editing cycle to clean up the aggravating tense shifts. Since there are two main characters, I would suggest third-person/past-tense, 'close' POV so it feels first-person even though there's still a narrative voice.

Here's two little cheapie tutorials to show you how to get that closeness you were striving for:

$0.99 - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

$3.99 - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...

Since I did not pay anything for this book and was like 'hooray' when I got to the feel-good happy ending, I would be willing to re-read and upgrade my review upon receipt of the edited update. I will -not- post this review on the main distribution platforms until that time.

Writing is hard. I get that and I always try to see a book with open heart, eyes and attitude. Keeping I this I in mind as a reader (as well as a writer) I feel like leaving an honest review is for the best and I hope something can be learned from it.

This was a new author for me, and unfortunately it was a tough read. The first chapter started steamy & had so much potential but the heroine was wishy-washy & a touch immature from the start. Then starting in chapter 2 and carrying on, the author kept doing tense switching, going back & forth from 3rd person present to 3rd person simple past. Drove me nuts.

The writing wasn't bad but there were a great deal of weak phrasing & just odd word choices for me. It also gave the book an immature feel for me. It made me laugh a little but there were tons of telling (vs showing) issues.

As the book continued the shifting of tenses was consistent, but also included moving to 1st Person Present. Made me not want to finish the book but I did want to know what happened. Hoped it improved.

Many of the scenes didn't move the story forward. They left me wondering why they were there.

Unfortunately the action was contrived and the villain's dialogue was not believable or scary. It was cheesy.

There were also inconsistencies in the timeline...in the space of three different amounts of time passing to describe the same event in the space of three pages. First she broke up with Seth 6 months ago. Then he's been missing a year, then she hadn't had sex in two years? Which is it?

The sex itself was pretty good, so it was a sort of saving grace.

All the high-tension & angry dialogue comes off as juvenile & not befitting the character the author is trying to portray in Malachi. The yelling and word choice makes it not credible for me.

The villain...oh the villain. He might as well been made out of cheese. He gave it all away, his agenda. His friend's agenda too. It was juvenile to me. I like to be left to have to figure something out, and unfortunately this book failed in that throughout.

But something kept driving me to read it. Keep turning that page. Overall I enjoyed the story even though the writing was not top-notch. I did like the ending.

The overall concept of the series is amazing, and has so much potential. But the immaturity of the characters I did enjoy them.

I think that the author is learning. I hope the second book is better!

I received a copy of this book from LoP in place of an honest review.

Malachi Starkman is what you call a nephilim, that means he is a descendant of a fallen angel. They can either be good or bad the choice is up to them. Good thing Malachi is on the good side. He is also the leader of his squad and that is all he thinks about is getting the evil. All of a sudden he starts having some pretty hot dreams about a woman.

Trinity Bradshaw is a photograph teacher at a high school. She has been through a lot in her life. She witnessed the murder of her parents and had several bad foster homes that she was placed in. If it wasn't for Nicci then she wouldn't have had anyone. She is now trying to live through an abusive ex boyfriend. Now if only she can get some sleep, but if you had to have some sex dreams then why not with a dark headed green eyed man?

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. I loved the storyline and the characters had some pretty good personalities. Some where a nice relaxed and some where a little bossy. You even have one that is a womanizer. The main characters really made the story and you had so much excitement and suspense in the book. I can't wait to read the next in the series. The author really keeps your attention and keeps the story going.

For Full Disclosure I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review through the LoP group on Good Reads.

Daniels has an interesting take on fallen angels, demons, and her creation of super natural creatures called nephilim who are the descents of the fallen angels and humans. The nephilim all have special and varying gifts that they are able to use in their fight against evil. The world that Daniels has created is unique and a little dark set in and around Chicago. This first book in the series revolves around Malachi, a nehilim who is also an empath and Trinity who is a human teacher. Celestial Beginnings starts off with Malachi and Trinity meeting in very sexually charged dreams which they both initially think are completely their own. But after a disaster instigated by Malachi's evil fallen angel grandfather Azazel, Malchi and Trinity come face to face. Daniels has a solid and interesting plot line with plenty of interesting ways to take the story. I look forward to reading Gemariah's story. At the end of Celestial Beginnings Gemariah was informed that big things were about to happen. I am sure that Nicci will be a part of the happenings and I want to be along for that ride.

***I received this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.***

This was a pretty awesome and I love a good angel story.

I LOVED Malachi and it was great that I got that extra back story about him from the prequel (so glad I read it). I was jealous of Trinity, he sounded super sexy!

I enjoyed how beautifully broken both Malachi and Trinity were, so much so that they were perfect together.

That scene at the end...where Malachi and Trinity "bonded" was SUPER touching, definitely my favorite scene aside from when they first discovered they loved each other.

GAHHHH, I loved the love story, my heart was swelling and breaking with Malachi and Trinity.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention Gemariah, because he totally helped me the book. His sass and steadfast loyalty are my two favorite qualities of a best friend and sidekick.

I can't wait to experience more from Rebekah Daniels.

I first read this book in October 2013 and gave it 5 stars. It was also the book that increased my interest in all things Angelic, particularly Nephilim.

It is now August 2014 and I have re-read the book ahead of reviewing its sequel. YEP! just as good and deserving of the 5 stars I gave it then. I just feel guilty that I didn't post a review then. Well this is it.....This is a fabulous book with charismatic and believable characters. The plot flows well and keeps you gripped and unable to put it down. A thoroughly enjoyable read and one which will lead you to search for other books of its kind...not easily found.

I received this book from the Author and Lovers of Paranormal at Goodreads.com for an honest review. Absolutely amazing!!!! I am a wannabe nephilim so this book was such a joy to read. Each character is so unique yet so connected in what they know about each other and what they do. They have an easy going repour but with such respect for one another. I found the romance/ lust between Malachi and Trinity riveting. I must admit that I am a total sap for Gemariah and hope there is a follow on book which gives him his happy ever after (suspecting with Nicci maybe??). I found myself dreading the final pages as I could have kept on reading this story forever. Applause applause for the author.

Great book! I loved the story! It had some great twists without being difficult to follow. There were subtle little hints throughout the story about things that were coming. It made it very hard to put the book down, because I had to keep reading to see if I was right. The characters were so well developed that I missed them when I was done reading the book. I want more!

Eh there were some parts of this book that kind of threw me.
One of the main things was when everything had basically gone to hell, Gideon had been kicked out from the team, and all that jazz. During that brief intermission, Trinity and Malachi had a sexcapade. And there was a lot. So I guess I was just ticked off that while Gideon was suffering alone (highly probable), Trinity and Malachi were off having fun together.
And then let's not forget that period before all that delightful hiatus from reality. Things between Trinity and Malachi were...not going smoothly, to say the least. A lot of hateful things were said, everyone was in a bad mood, and the situation was becoming more and more daunting. For some reason, this pissed me off. Maybe it was because everything had been going so well between Malachi and Trinity on their dates and all, then all of a sudden everything was wrecked. But that happens in every romance book out there, so I don't know why this particular one ticked me off. Maybe it's because I was lead to believe things would be fairly light, and that obviously didn't last.
And then...that ending. I was sincerely hoping it wasn't going to be another Divergent/Allegient ending. Literally, that scene where Trinity runs to her parents when she died...and Tris had run to her mother when she died...seriously? That. Would've. Been. Annoying.
Now...for that next book...I haven't seen that summary yet but I'm guessing it's between Nicci and Gemariah? GIVE ME. I WANT. I hope it will be filled with wit and hilarity. .-.
OH that reminds me. Why? Why did Nicci have to get sick Ms. Daniels, hm? I seriously thought she was becoming sick because she was turning corrupt due to a demon. Hopefully, I will be wrong. But still...what was that point? What is your plan/plot twist here? =.= I'm on to you...

**** ARC exchanged fro an HONEST review ****

So, where to start?!? Well, first let me say this book had a bit of an advantage with me, because i LOVE stories with fallen angels and similar. So i was sooo happy to see this as a r2r i couldn't pass it up! Now onto the book.

I was extremely please with the fact that i didn't see it all before it happened. Usually i can like most people guess what will happen within the first few chapters. With this book of course i had some guesses but a lot of it threw me. I found myself loving Malachi AND Gideon too. who would have thought. I think Gideon is misunderstood and i think Trinity gets him.

So, Malachi is a descendant from a fallen angel and half real angel. He is fighting the war of good vs evil. Trinity is a school teacher trying to make it day by day with her good friend and might as well be a sister Nicci. They will have to fight to see if they can trust each other, take a leap of faith when there is none and grab on with both hands if they want to make it in one piece let alone together. With evil against the entire team can good concur it and prevail? This story will have you laughing and falling in love with them one by one.

I was worried i wouldn't like Terah we do not get a lot on her and i am hoping in the next book (please tell me there is a next book) we find out her story. I also have my suspicions on why nicci is sick *cough *cough * Geramiah * cough * cough*

Read this book if your into fallen angel books like me!!!!

Happy Reading :)

Celestial Beginnings has many elements that I love; angels, demons and sex but when I first started reading; I almost gave up because it read like sunday school. I know that many books need to have a set up so I kept reading hoping it stopped, it did. Holy crap I went from sunday school to hot steamy sex. No break, no warning and no way to catch myself . I was confused. After that first shock I couldn't put the book down if my life depended on it. I loved how the characters played off of each other and the relationships were so real. Fights, laughs, insecurities, love, hate, etc.

Malachi has been fighting along side his squad to keep mankind safe for centuries. Constantly fighting the taint of evil he has also helped the people on his squad stay true. Trinity is a photography teacher who loves to teach her students her passion. When they meet it's an explosion of steam. Serious steam that had me fanning myself and blushing, good thing I was in my room alone.

The thing I couldn't understand was why some of the relationships didn't work like they should. Trinity loved her sister, lived next door and was always over, until they day she met Malachi in the flesh. After that her sister actually got sick, really sick and she didn't even realize it. Malachi has no forgiveness for a man he has known for centuries.

At the end of the book I had more questions than answers and they were mostly about Malachi and Trinity. I have hope for this series. I will be on the look out for the next one.

Celestial Beginnings by Rebekah Daniels

This book was chosen as a book of the month for the group “Lovers of Paranormal” on Goodreads.com
I have to begin by saying that I LOVED this book, and could not put it down. It is one of those books which I will re-read and re-read. I would even consider buying a hard copy for the book shelf to live happily with my other 10 favourite books that I cherish and are the first things that will get grabbed if the house ever burns down.
An original book with a fantastic concept and brilliant story line. It is well written with a plot that is clear and easy to follow, but without being predictable. I would describe it as a Paranormal Romance, with a cast of gorgeous Nephilium. It was a fun read, packed with action, mystery and intrigue. The characters are well thought out, and each individual has personality which you can’t help but fall in love with, and then there are the few that are just plain creepy. This book is a page turner which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to anyone who enjoys Paranormal Romance. Thank you to Rebekah Daniels for a great read. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released.

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review. (Lovers of Paranormal, LoP)**

Celestial Beginnings has turned out to be one of the best books I've read. I love, love, love this book. From the first page, I was hooked. The whole 'fallen angel' concept had me concerned at first, due to the fact that this is a topic that can be either really good or really bad. But I was pleasantly surprised by the story line that the author brought forth. I love how the 'fallen' have human characteristics. The humor, the bantering, friendship and of course, the hot and steamy sex. All are very good components to an awesome book. The characters are very well thought out. I enjoyed the interaction between Malachi and Trinity. Trinity is what made this story. She is one kick ass character. Over all, this is one series I plan to follow. A definite add to your tbr list. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank Lovers of Paranormal group and the author Rebekah Daniels for allowing to read this book for an honest review.

I am kind of waffling between it was ok and liked it. It was a bit hard to get into, and there were several editing errors that were distracting. That aside, the book did get a lot better, and I was finally pulled into the story. The characters were well thought out and compelling. This would be a good book for people who are really into this genre of literature. I am looking forward to reading more books by Rebekah Daniels and I am hoping that she improves with each one.

I have to say that this book starts off pretty dry. Because I was given this book in exchange for an honest review for LoP I had to keep reading. The dialog feels stiff and awkward. Trinity our heroine is supposed to be a teacher who must work for some really special school district because it sure isn’t realistic. Malachi our hero is beautiful, sexy and mostly angry. The author finds her pace about half way through the book and the story and action take off. A bit predictable but enjoyable. A great job with the sex and romance.

Oh my! I could not stop reading this book. I was hooked from the very beginning and didn't get finished till after midnight but I did it. And it was so worth it. Although I always like to read books as they are finally finished with the series, I didn't care with this one. I LOVED IT! Dreams like Trinity's are so steamy that you hate that she doesn't get to complete them. I cannot wait for the next one at all.

I absolutely loved reading this book from the first chapter to the last. This book has the action, the love, and hate. So many emotion went through me while reading this...the love between the main two characters didn't feel rushed at all. I'm pretty sure that was what sold the book for me...I also love in any book with a hint of romance if the two main characters presue each other it's not rushed and I feel them actually connect. I can't wait to read more about the other characters....

I really like this book. When I first started reading it I wasn't sure because it was kind of slow or something was slightly off.
