Dark 'Criminal/Sleeper' style words and pictures (Sean Phillips does do some of the art). It's 17 years later and still Marvel has never revealed who the writer 'X' is!! This is the story of how a latent mutant teenager is drawn into a global mutant terrorist group set on making a mark... and how it all just goes from tragedy to tragedy. A wonderful left field read with few references to the mainstream Marvel universe... and all the better for it! 7 out of 12 on my scale :)

The writer x spins an immersive world that draws you in. While the book starts out light it was meerly laying groundwork for the deeper story unfolding. While accessible to all, this book is especially enthralling for queer readers. Highly recommended.
