Oh wow! I seriously had no idea. This is one of those books that I can't say much about because it will be ruined.

I will say that I just got to spend a few hours straight with a group of characters that I loved and can't wait to see again.

I loved the use of sign language. I've never seen that in a book before.

My mind is so busy right now trying to figure out what you're going to do with book two.

Thank you Ms. Anderson for giving me the chance to read this early! I wish you lots of success.

4.5 out of 5 stars for ALTER

I already tried to write a review for Alter several times after I finished reading it, but it just didn't sound right. Honestly, I was doubtful when I started reading this story because it's very different from the other novels that I read by Lilliana Anderson. And also, I was used to reading two different POVs from the main characters (like in A Beautiful Struggle and A Beautiful Forever)and I didn't like the third person point of view in this book. It just seemed impersonal in a way, and I think it would have been better if it was a first person point of view.

But aside from that, I loved the whole story. The plot is very unique and I don't know how to describe all the characters without spilling the beans. Anderson's take on this new novel is very different, with the approach and the topic. It discussed a lot of issues- very serious issues.

I love the fact that in this novel, Lilliana Anderson created such outstanding characters. I liked Mia and Eric together because they seem to be comfortable around each other and they're the right kind of a happy couple. But as I was reading, I also realized that maybe, comfort is not really a good thing because that's when things start to become a routine. I think it will come to a point wherein you'll feel that the relationship is more like a responsibility and not more of a commitment.

I must say, that although I liked Eric, I LOVED Cayd. He was always there when Mia needed him and when Eric wasn't around. There was an instant attraction between the two of them but their relationship was slowly but smartly and brilliantly written. It wasn't forced and it was very believable. I love the natural flow of the story and the mysteriousness of some of the characters.

And last but not the least, the character that I really admired and loved the most was Mia. She's the type of person who really loves what she does and the fact that she's teaching deaf students will surely warm every reader's heart. She knows how to stand up for herself and she's a person with a passion.

Alter is a different kind of road that Anderson took and I am sure that readers will be enthralled by the different kind of charm and power that Lilliana put in this novel. It is one hell of a brilliant piece of work so kudos to Lilliana Anderson for that. :)

*I received an ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. This, however, did not influence my review in any way.*

wow this was pretty fucked up.

*note that this isn't listed under "dark" genre, so all you dark readers out there don't expect something mind blowingly amazing.

---spoilers ahead----- I just can't not write this without any.

I understand that Natalie in the beginning had good intentions, but turned out to be extremely fucked up. She may seem innocent, but you can't just forget the fact that she drugged her twin sister, Mia, to pretend to be her and fuck her boyfriend.

I ended up skimming through a majority of this book because I can't believe how easily Natalie was let off the hook. I can't believe that Eric has feelings for Natalie. I mean wtf??!

also the fact that Eric's friend was all "You should talk to Natalie, you seemed happier when you were with her," Josh why the fuck are you encouraging Eric to be with a girl who drugged your girlfriend of five years. Mia could have overdosed on that shit.

God this book pissed me off.

This review and more (so much more) on Sab The Book Eater

No matter how many times I try, I couldn't figure out a way to review Alter properly. There's so many things that I could say that might spoil the reading experience for you. But for the sake of future readers, I will do my best to not mention anything about the storyline itself. *breathes* Okay, here we go.

Lilliana Anderson has shown yet again that she can create characters who can make their way into the readers' hearts effortlessly. The story revolved around Mia, Eric and Cayd - three people who had their lives turned upside down because of one life altering revelation.

Mia Smyth, like Anderson's other female protagonists, is strong and independent (and tall, let's not forget tall). But what I think sets her apart is her ability to speak in sign language. This isn't just some ability that she can brag about on her resume; it's something that makes her who she is. Mia teaches deaf students and she takes her work very seriously. Her passion for teaching shows just how big her heart is. I liked Mia, though at the beginning I had a hard time connecting with her, but I liked her nonetheless.

You know what I also liked? Eric. Eric with Mia. What I liked about their relationship was how light and loving it was. Nothing fancy, nothing big, nothing dramatic (in the beginning, that is). It was simply them, loving each other. It was love in the most uncomplicated form and I appreciated it greatly. It was through their relationship that I saw what kind of person Eric was. He's hot and sweet and all that but what won me over was how easy going Eric was. I didn't think it would be possible to find a guy so swoon-worthy just because of light he was but it totally is! However, things took a 180 when Mia met Dr. Cayd Donnelly.

Now before you start thinking Cayd is a homewrecker and Mia allowed it, let me tell you, it wasn't like that at all. I can only say so much and it hurts like hell. But I will say this much: there's no competition between Cayd and Eric because they're both equally great guys. And I felt torn as I was reading. Inasmuch as Eric was lovable, I fell for Cayd as well... harder, even. (I talk about them like real guys. Thanks a lot, Lilli) He had so much fire in him and it only showed how much he loves Mia. He fell for her instantly and it wasn't anything shallow or unreasonable. I think given the circumstances, it was the most natural thing that could happen.

Perhaps the only thing that I didn't like was the writing. It wasn't horrible, really. In fact, I have a love/hate relationship with it. I didn't like the third person POV that didn't focus on the main character. It felt like watching a movie where you can see what everyone's doing or feeling. It took a few chapters for me to get used to it! I know, I know... it's just me and my obvious preference for the first person POV. I also thought the pacing could've gone slower in the beginning because really, I couldn't say anything about what happens after the 20% mark on my Kindle app. What won me over, however, was how much insight I got from the characters without using lengthy paragraphs to express that. I felt my heart ache (seriously, painful stuff that was) but eventually I got what I wanted and I wasn't so bummed out anymore. I love that Alter was able to make me feel what the characters were feeling. I always expect that from a book and I got it.

Alter brings a lot to the table: an electrifying romance, a lovable set of characters and one hell of a plot twist. A plot twist that I couldn't even talk about in any way because I want you all to see for yourself. It had me up late at night, guessing and wanting more. And I just know it'll do the same to you.

Disclaimer time: This book was provided to me by the author in return for an honest review.

This book had a lot of twists and turns that kept me glued to it from the moment I started reading.

Mia is a 23 year old teacher at a high school for special needs kids. All is going great, she's got a long term boyfriend called Eric and she loves her job and her best friend.

All of a sudden, things start getting really confusing for her. She meets a pyschiatrist named Cayd, who is HOT! There's electricity bouncing all over the place between these two but she ignores it because she's with Eric.

Next thing, she is rekindling her relationship with Eric. Things are getting hot and heavy between them but Mia can't remember their interactions.

Everyone's getting really worried about her so eventually she goes to the doctor who refers her to a psychiatrist. When she gets there, the female doctor refuses to treat her, claiming that something has come up and then palms her off to her colleague who turns out to be Cayd! Obviously he can't treat her because he's so attracted to her.

This is where I have to stop telling you things that happened in the book.

All I can say is that I thought so many different things while reading this book and I was wrong each time.

It's hard to shock me, but this one threw me big time.

The romance was hot, I loved the relationships in this book. I loved both Cayd and Eric and even Josh!

Wonderful read. I can't wait for book 2!

After sleeping on it, I changed my rating from 4 stars to 3.

Spoiler alert

We find out that Mia has a long lost twin sister, Natalie, who has been drugging Mia (through Mia's coffee sweetener) and stepping in for Mia with Eric (the boyfriend).

We meet so many characters it's hard to keep track. I felt like I didn't really connect with any of them since we switch from Mia's point of view, Eric's point of view, Natalie's point of view, Cayd's point of view, and Louise's point of view. It's alot of characters to throw at you. While they were all interesting, we don't stay with one long enough to make a connection.

Things I liked:
- the plot twist, although I wish it had been drawn out longer
- the idea of Mia and Eric realizing through Natalie's deception that they are over. It was very bittersweet and real. The exchange between Eric and Mia at the Chinese restaurant after they break out was so heartfelt and real. Kudos!
- the idea of throwing Cayd in there, who we find out actually knew about Natalie beforehand, but due to his job, he couldn't tell her.
- I like the use of sign language. A very new twist and it worked for me. Kudos!

Things I didn't like:
- too many points of view
- Natalie drugged Mia. No one reported her to the authorities. I don't care sister or not, you do not pass go, you go directly to jail. And then the hidden camera, nope, that's a police issue. I felt that every character was just too forgiving of this.
- Mia had blood work done, but the sleeping pills never showed up in her system? A bit of a plot hole.
- As far as we know Eric was never told that Natalie drugged Mia, but then he tells her that he knows. When did he find out? Another plot hole.

It's rare that I say this, but I feel like this one book could have been expanded into two books and we could have spent more time on character development. Let's find more about Mia and Eric, let's find more about Mia dealing with the fact that she is adopted and had no idea at all! I want to connect to these characters because they ARE intersting and different to me. I would like to see Mia as the main character. Drop Natalie. I don't care about her point of view at all. There is nothing that will redeem her character for me.

All that said, I recommend that you read this book, just don't expect to be blown away. It's different from what is out there and for me, that is refreshing. It definitely has potenital and I'm interested to see what the next book holds. Because, of course, there is a sequel!

I received this book from the author in exchange for an HONEST review!!

This book is freaking awesome!!!! I was on pins and needles, the edge of my seat and bitting my nails all at the same time. If it wasnt for Mother's Day weekend (when I started the book) I would have read it in one sitting.

Mia has been dating her boyfriend Eric for 5yrs and everything is good, not great but good. They have a very comfortable relationship. Then one day Mia meets Cayd and there is INSTANT attraction. Even though she is attracted to him, she doesnt really act on it because she is loyal to her boyfriend Eric. Well all of a sudden Eric and Mia's sex life goes from OK to HOTTTTTT!!!! But the problem is Mia is losing her mind and doesnt remember anything. People tell her that she is acting differently but she has no memory of what happens the night before, because of all of this Mia decides to see a Psychiatrist. From that moment on, there are some crazy twists and turns that leave you with your mouth hanging wide open!!!! I cant even talk about the rest of the because it will spoil the ending.

Every time I thought I had a part figured out in the book, the author would add another twist. I am normally really good at guessing the twists but not this time. I was surprised every single time. This book is full of so much drama that I thought I was watching a Lifetime movie, or better yet a soap opera like Young and the Restless or Days of Our Lives. Eventually, I will have to re-read the book just to see if I can pick up more closely on the clues right before the twists happened. I still can't believe I was blindsided.

If you like suspense, and drama with a whole lot of loving...... then this is the book for you. A must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author Lilliana Anderson just keeps getting better. Her first two books A Beautiful Struggle and A Beautiful Forever, were so enjoyable, that i was truly looking forward to what she would produce next. Nothing prepared me for such incredible depth, complex plot and believable character development. To simplify - I was very impressed.

If you have read the synopsis, you might think Alter was just about a girl who is losing her mind, and as a consequence, falls out of love with the man who has been her constant boyfriend for the past five years. What you won't expect is the twisty, clever plot that you will meet when reading Alter. RIght up to the end, you will be receiving surprises.

If you like books with sizzling love scenes, this book will also be for you. Bring out the fans!! The dynamic between Mia and Cayd was electrifying, yet also tender and sweet.

The story is enriched with Anderson's impressively articulate prose and her rich story-telling abilities. Alter was paced well, and will keep you engrossed and captivated from start to finish. I am looking forward to the next instalment! Well done Lilliana, well done!

I wanted to love this book as much as Anderson's other books "A Beautiful Struggle" and "A Beautiful Forever", but I found the plot to be completely implausible which made it somewhat difficult to enjoy.

I will give it to Lilliana Anderson, she is creative and doesn't write a standard formula romance. There's always a surprise.

must say Lilliana Anderson completely captured my attention with this book from beginning to end. Alter is unlike anything I have ever read. The plethoras of emotions she brings to life and makes me feel are captivating.

The storyline in Alter is about a 23 year old young woman named Mia, who is a high school teacher for the deaf at a special needs school. She has been dating her high school sweetheart and first love, Eric, for 5 years. Everything is good and comfortable but not great. Then one day Mia meets a psychiatrist named, Cayd, who helps her with one of her students and there is an instant attraction between them. He is hot. Even though Mia is utterly attracted to him she doesn’t act on it because of her relationship with Eric. All of a sudden Mia and Eric start rekindling their relationship and their sex life goes from just ok to hot and intense. The problem is Mia can’t remember their interactions and she is afraid she is losing her mind. Everyone is telling her she’s acting differently but she just doesn’t remember. That’s when Mia is referred to a psychiatrist, which through a twist of fate ends up being, none other than Cayd. From then on Mia discovers some life altering information that will change her forever.

For me, Lilliana outdid herself with this book. Alter brings so many things to life. An electrifying lustful romance, a cast of characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and open your heart to, and one hell of a mind blowing plot twist. This is a book that will keep you on edge from beginning to end and can’t help but fall in love with. I cannot wait for book two. Oops, spoiler alert…this one’s a cliffie.

Okay so at first I was really confused with this book. The first couple of chapters had my brain scrambled to where I thought I had lost some parts of the book. Don't get me wrong, it was still captivating, but I thought maybe it downloaded wrong or something. So I skipped a couple of chapters and read less than half a chapter to make sure. Once I got my answer that it had downloaded correct and that you where suppose to be as confused as the character, I went back to where I left off and continued reading. This plot was the best. I loved how even confused the story kept me drawn in and at the edge of my seat. A very wonderful read and can't wait to read book two when it comes out. This book takes you on twists and turns you won't be suspecting and I loved every min of it... once I realized that was suppose to be happening :)

I bought Alter in a way of showing my support to Australian authors. The synopsis intrigued me, but I still wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it, as I haven't read any romance novels for quite a while. Once I started reading I was totally hooked. I was very interested throughout the entire novel, every twist and turn sucked me in more, every time I started reading it again, I would find myself reading for a lot longer than I intended, spending lots of late nights reading way past my bedtime. The characters and events were very well described, which made me feel like I was watching from the sidelines. I was very unhappy when the novel came to an end, as I wasn’t ready for it to end just yet. I’ll be eagerly waiting for the next installment and I plan on purchasing the day it comes live.

I received this book for an honest review...

This book was amazing!!! A true page turner!

This book is about Mia and her boyfriend Eric who have been together for 5 years now, everything is scheduled out and it works that way. When Mia starts acting different Eric does not question her actions, at first he thinks she has an alter ego because she never remembers anything she does. Her best friend Louise starts to see all these changes she knows something is up but just needs the proof. Finally Eric gets Mia to go see a shrink to help her out. He does not want the old Mia back but something is really going on in her head. Does Mia really have an alter ego? Is something really wrong with her?

Not what I was expecting - more 3.5 stars than 4.

I love this author's writing style and the way she writes relationships and sexual chemistry is very satisfying but I honestly thought this was going another way to her Beautiful Series, I was expecting something Alfred Hitchcockish for some reason but thats not what I got - to be fair maybe that wasn't the author's intention but without giving any of the plot away I think the story could have benefited from a better denoument.

Having said that I read it in one evening and would read the next one but I still felt something was missing with this one - sorry Lillianna - still love you though ;-)

I really enjoyed this book. It's different than anything I have recently read and was a quick, easy read. You are kept wondering what exactly is going on as you get farther and farther into the book until the plot unfolds right before your eyes. I did feel towards the end that some of the romance was a little rushed. I also found it strange that my paperback copy didn't have any pages numbers, not sure if it's suppose to be that way or not. I will definitely be checking out more of Lilliana's books in the future!

Mia has a boyfriend Eric, but she is attracted to Cayd. Mia apparently starts having memory losses and blackouts. During her blackouts she acts extremely sexually aggressive around her boyfriend. This is a fast paced, well written, at times erotic story. I liked the characters and I thought the doppelgänger storyline was really interesting. I am interested in reading the next installment of this series to see what happens to these characters. 5 stars.

4.5 stars! My eyeballs were glued to this book from the very beginning. I was desperate to know what was going on! I liked the story, the writing, and the characters. This is actually book 1 in a series. The end left room for more of the story, but it left me with a satisfied feeling. It does not end in a cliffhanger! I can't wait for book 2!

I can't express how much I enjoyed this book. In the forward Lilliana mentioned she is worried that this book will not go over well. You need to take that comment out. This book is beautiful and what a plot. I will not say anything to spoil it cause to much said would tell it all. I was captivated right from the beginning and I can't wait for next book.

This book definitely had a lot of drama. I did think there would be more of a build up when the "alter" was found out. However, leading up to it and then the aftermath was well worth it. I was disappointed to have the book end. I am waiting patiently for the sequel.

Our Hearts Entwined was interesting, captivating, dark, serious, unique, intriguing, weird, and totally awesome!

The first few chapters had me hooked and lost all at the same time! While I had an idea of what was going on, the way that Lilliana Anderson writes is so flawless and beautiful that I just wanted to take it slow and find out when it was time!

The characters are well developed, deep and relatable. Simply put they are REAL! I felt myself drawn to them on a level that I don't remember feeling in a while. The story line is so convoluted and mixed up and twisted in an awesome way that it keeps the reader focused and paying close attention so that we can hopefully figure out the mystery!

Mia, Eric, Cayd, Natalie, Josh and Louise...what a set of people to get to know! I ADORED the way the book is written from all of their points of view! It really added a depth to the book and characters that I'm not sure could have been there otherwise. (I do sort of wish that it had been written in first person instead...but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.)

*SIGH* It's hard to get into the story line without spoilers so I won't really cover much there. Just know that it is absolutely freaking amazing and one of a kind! The amount of important and real life issues that Lilliana Anderson manages to fit into this story is incredible. I am awed by her ability to flawlessly merge serious topics with romance and mystery. While this is a love story, there are some pretty dark and serious matters that pop up and I felt that that made the story feel real and made it captivating.

The ending is a bit odd...I feel that people will have one of two reactions..."WTF, how can they just let that go!" or "I totally get that...she has issues but still deserves to be happy." I honestly think I lean more towards the first...but hey everyone has their own opinions!

I can straight up say that this was the most unique story line I have read in a long time! It was so well written that I couldn't put it down. I felt like a part of the story and often found my heart pounding and tears filling my eyes. I cannot wait to read the next book and find out what happens now!

Not a surprise that I loved this book. 4 Big stars for Our Hearts Entwined #1. Another great series start from this wonderful author. Lilliana has created yet another group of people that you can't help but be sucked into their world. This was a very easy quick read. I really felt like I sat down for an hour and realized it was after midnight when I finished. I look forward to where Lilli will take us in Entwined #2 coming August 8th.

Mia Smyth lives a normal life and is very content with how things are going. She has a loving, caring boyfriend , Eric, whom she's dated for 5 years. Our Hearts Entwined is an excellent read!! I loved the suspense, romance and all the characters.
Mia a 23 year old teacher has an experience that totally screwed up her life.
Mia has a boyfriend, Eric of 5 years. Its nothing special but its a routine that she is comfortable with. They have plans for their future but nothing set in stone.
Mia meets Dr. Cayd Donnelly thru one of her students. A very attractive man who has caught her eye. He does ask her on a date but she tells him she has a boyfriend. She cant get him out of her mind and the draw she has to him.
Mia starts having blackouts and memory lapse's. She cant figure out whats wrong with her and doctors all say she is ok. But is she? ERic notice the difference in her but he likes the change and doesnt want to push her to why?
Mis lost her parents a while back in a car accident and she was very close to them. As an only child she had a perfect life. But after her trip to the doc he suggests her seeing a psychiatrist. From there the story takes a twist. A wild twist that sends Mia to seek help.
What Mia finds out will shock you! It did me and now has me hooked and cant wait for book 2. This book does have an HEA but theres more to the story and I cant wait for Our Lives Entwined. I loved this book a definite 5 star read one you cant put down.
