Too often, we try to figure it all out for ourselves. We plan, and we scheme, and we dream without regard for God’s plan for our lives. “I’ve always put you first in my life, in my thoughts, in my heart. It’s time for me to do that with God.” (page 259) One of my favorite verses says it best—“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV. God has a plan for our lives, and it is always in our best interest. God is on your side! A life partner, a business venture, making a large purchase, a job—God has a plan—but are we willing to pray and search out what His will is before jumping into our own plans? When we give it to God, and we let Him lead us to our decisions, sometimes He gives us the very thing we wanted all along. It is just in His timing and His way rather than our own. Sometimes it is remembering who we are in Christ that teaches us how to move forward in our own lives. Kathleen Fuller does a stellar job of unfolding this truth within the story. The story is so believable and real, that it draws you in, revealing a storyline that plays out this scriptural concept in a simple, yet profound way. This story is filled with beautiful romance, unexpected suspense, a little bit of attitude, and Godly truth.
This story is set in the heart of Middlefield, Ohio’s Amish community.
