" Like Mother Like Trick" by Dannaye Carter was some read that was a page turner for me. This mother and the treatment of her daughter was really eye opener of how some people had actually lived it. The author was able to present a story that seemed so very real. I had to keep thinking this is a fiction read! But after thinking about it I can believe this could be the life that may have happen to many people. The author really knew how to keep the readers attention with all of the drama that went on continually for Erin. I found this story jumped around a lots but I managed to keep up with the read. However, it was a read that really will touch our heart because of what Erin has to deal with.... the 'pain, destruction, death but in the end .... well I don't want to tell all. I want you to pick up this good read to see for yourself the ending. The characters in this novel were well portrayed and indeed colorful only giving this a good read. I found this novel a good read that showed that if you really wanted to escape what you are in...it can happen and as in this read a good man that will give you the love you need....it can be obtained. So, in other words just because you have been brought up a certain way doesn't mean you can't change and that is why I would recommend this story as a good read.
I chose this book because of the title.I must say that it had a lot of typos in it. But was still a good story this maybe fiction but in reality there are a lot of young girls that goes though something like this. I'm blessed that my mom was very protective of me and did everything that a mother should do to take care of her family. Great book glad that Erin was able to get out and that she found true love. This is what I would call unconditional love.
Yay!!! Absolutely loved this book...furthermore what the Author went through to make it happen....I knew you could do it through all your ups & downs...you're an amazing woman and I know your mother and grandmother (RIP) would be so proud of you for remaining strong...Love you more than ever -Your Bestfriend lol
P.s. Your editor is a hater next time we'll leave her out of the equation! ;0)
Many people don't understand how children are exploited every day. Even by the people who is supposed to love and take care of them. I rated this book five stars because not can I relate to E pain of having a heartless mother,I I know how it feels. Wow
Not sure I get this book it was a little slow. Felt sorry for the daughter cause she had no guidance and pity for the mom cause she didn't know better. The saying goes alls well ends well but I guess not in this story. When when life is taken another is born, and so it is.
